Interesting. Good idea, keep us posted!
...
Then I went to 195°C (same setting as V5.0S on blue) and I immediatly got the exact same taste that I'm used to when I use this strain in my V5.0S. This was expected, above 195°C it's exactly the same vape, same bowl, same circuit etc, there's no reason it would be any different...

the blue setting is 185°F on my V5.0s ... is there different versions?

Thank you for the precision. It's interesting because I told them to change them to exactly what you got listed! It's quite possible that they listened to our feedback. In mine it's 195°C/205°C/215°C (so 10°C apart while in yours it's 15°C apart)

@KeroZen, After reading again your last post, i am sorry to tell you that you made a mistake in the conversion. I think 195 degrees Celsius = 383 degrees Fahrenheit. (so we have the same reference. )
This means that you prefer a lower temperature around 180 ° C or less you should be filled with the new model?
I still use my Pax coming down pretty low in temperature, but the ease of maintenance of V5 convinced me. (Except the gate of the mouthpiece is too thin and needs to be replaced. It quickly clogged with grass clippings.)
Loading least the tank, the taste is slightly degraded after 6 or 7 aspirations but at this point the material is completely brown. That said, the taste is just a little worse but still quite okay for me
and i dont have any problem with my V5.0s at blue level .

Oh right my bad. Meanwhile I asked my contact and she confirmed that the temperature levels have not been changed since release...

At the same time I received a mail this morning from the wholesaler "vnice" where I ordered my first FM5 back then. I kow they hate when we discuss their prices in public but they received the Mini and the Pro and have them for $80 and $70 respectively, with a big discount if you order more than 10.

EDIT: about the W100 as someone asked, it's still in the tooling stage. More news should come mid-April.

So the Mini has a higher price than the Pro? Interesting-you'd think the one with the fully adjustable temp would sell for more.

I have been told by Smiss that the Mini's model # will have the 'S' on the end, like the 3 temp V5.0S, instead of 'mini V5.0', as shown on their sites- "will name it mini V5.0S". I pointed out that it was very confusing (as it was when the 3 temp version first came out with V5.0 on it and then they proceeded to give that model # to the single temp version :\ ) to have one 3 temp version (current full sized model) with an 'S' and the 3 temp mini without it. As Kero has stated more than once, Smiss is very much willing to listen to feedback and make changes, so that's a plus.

On the subject of restoring air flow through the screen at the bottom of the chamber, here's what DOESN'T work.

Even though my airflow wasn't all that bad, it had slowed some and I really wanted to avoid taking it apart. It occurred to me that if I:
(1) block off (with tape) all the air intake holes except the holes on one side;
(2) turn the unit upside down and repeatedly hit the chamber screen with an ISO-drenched qtip (for like a full minute) in the hopes of liquifying the debris;
(3) turn it right side up (to encourage the ISO to pass to the other side of the screen) and apply a damp (not dripping) qtip;
(4) then while it's wet, blow really hard through the air intake holes to sort of backflush the reside on the screen (both using just my mouth and then with compressed computer-cleaning air,

--- then, maybe this would blast out the tiny holes and all would be good without disassembly!

Well, as it turned out, this just made it WORSE! It seems the excess ISO probably turned the screen debris into sticky goo. I turned on the heat with an empty bowl and sucked for all my might, and this actually helped a little, but all-in-all this was a bad idea. Hopefully you can learn from my mistake!

On a slightly different point, I had earlier suggested running a needle into the holes to open them up. I can see now why this doesn't work: the holes are so tiny that even a needle won't fit! I suspect anything fine enough to fit (like super fine wire) would probably be so fine that it would bend with the slightest resistance. So it looks like I'll be taking this sucker apart after all :uhoh:

Has anyone realized that when you take the vape apart to take out the bottom screen, the bowl lighting just isn't as strong anymore?

Yea , my bowl light stopped working after I have taken the bottoms screen couple times , but the vape still works , the light isn't really useful anyways

It's kind of handy packing it in the dark, plus its easier to see the bottom screen when its 100% lit from that light
Yea , I think it would be better if the light could be turned on when the oven is off , since I never load it when the oven is on . this could be a good improvement for future versions.

So sadly is there no fix to this light being brighter?
since I dropped my FM5, the lamp stops working. I decided to open the unit to try to fix it but to no avail. LED is embedded in a small box avecdu silicone and is really hs. it would be easy to replace lais should find the part ?!
I was hoping to find a loose connection but in my case, impossible to do more !.
I post some photos taken during the operation.

Opening the device (4 screws), uncouple the combustion chamber which is kept by both parties silicone. The top one is the one we see on the inside of the heating chamber and hides the defective led, the other silicone ring serves to maintain the chamber in place.

I took advantage of the dismantling to clean the bottom of the heating chamber, not very dirty. these holes and broom screen were not very dirty

I noticed that it would be very simple to connect the air inlet of the heating chamber to the compartment where the mouthpiece stored. a hole and a tube that would fit into the 5 holesc eramic part. and the air intake will be absolutely clean.

Check out what I received in the mail today...

I got it really fast from my contact at SMISS.

The Pro was sealed in box, the mini was not shrink wrapped, but I see no residue in the bowl and have gotten no smell of tobacco.

Both units are charging right now and I will be doing burnoffs and testing the waters with both units tonight! Keep your eyes peeled, I'll try and post my initial thoughts this evening before posting an official review sometime later in the week.

One surprise that I either wasn't aware of or read about and promptly forgot - the mini also functions as a power bank! Although I won't likely use it often, that really is a nifty feature in my mind.

I decided to focus earlier tests on the 5.0s mini since we have @KeroZen currently testing out the 5.0 pro.
First things first, metal chamber that the pyrex mouthpiece plugs into is different than what we are used to with the original flowermates, it contains a much shallower thread and the two are not interchangeable. I find that a little disappointing as I was wanting to use the SMISS universal waterpipe adapter with this device, but it isn't a dealbreaker by any means.

Early testing is very positive. The unit is quite small in the hand and feels comfortable to hold, although the unit will get very warm.

The vapor production is impressive, even at the first setting the vapor seems thicker than I was expecting. I need to run it side-by-side with its big brother the 5.0s and see how it compares hit-by-hit.

So far I have only done loose packings to near-fill. However, I want to experiment with tighter packs, as I believe there are a few that favor the tighter packs.

The battery life does appear a bit shorter than the other flowermates, however it is still very reasonable for such a small form factor. One charge lasts me approximately two nearly filled bowls. I didn't count how many 5-minute heat cycles that amounted do, but I'll try and be a little more thorough with testing there.

So far I am quite impressed with this little guy. More to come later!

Good!

Having a single cell, the shorter battery life was expected. It's also in theory less powerful but if you get good density it's fine. Is the bowl smaller than the big brother?

If you compare the density to your FM5 make sure to have the screens cleaned right as it can lose some performance when they are clogged.

Please do test your FM5-Pro! You said I'm currently testing it but in fact I'm past that point: I brought it with the HD to a wedding last week-end (and I didn't bring my FM5S nor the Ascent that I use daily) Result: it was ample enough to get me going all night long and I didn't even use the HD (but ok I boozed too and I had to socialize so I didn't vape all way long)

Since then, well, I'm not "testing it" anymore, it became one of my daily drivers already! I love it, it's really great! Battery life is better than my Ascent, it's easier to clean and maintain, and everyone can use it without needing a special technic. There's plenty of vapor even at low temps. It's harsher and hotter than the Ascent due to the short vapor path and different bowl geometry, but taste is good enough for me.

It pains me to say it, but it's been several days that I only got the Pro and the 5S in my bag and the Ascent stayed at home.... Since you have (or had) all these vapes at some point I'm eager to hear your opinion on the Pro.

As I write this now I am positively lifted.

Tonight after dinner and grocery shopping I introduced my girlfriend to the 5.0s mini. I started tonight by loading up most of the way, and then packing herb from my small Space Case into the chamber. I was surprised again at how great the vapor production was, this thing can play with the big boys! She and I were both feeling quite high before I even changed the temperature to purple. By the time we finished a run on red she was ready for bed. I then decided to run a new bowl and start on red to see how it paired with my D020 and enjoyed fogging up the glass for multiple hits. I just finished that bowl and am really enjoying myself.

I think that packing semi-dense is the way to go for me. I do worry a bit after reading others experiences with the bottom screen altering vapor production from clogging. I wish I had another screen to throw in to keep the bottom screen cleaner. I have been encouraging SMISS to look into producing bullets, I think that would help with keeping the overall units cleaner. and provide a great way to load on the go.

In any case guys, so far I think the 5.0s mini is a winner. I wish the battery life were longer but as @KeroZen pointed out, shorter life is to be expected. The 5.0s provides big clouds for such a small device.

From pictures, the Mini has USB charging? if thats the case, with power bank, battery capacity should not be an issue ;o
