Do you know if there is a way of telling which is which? Because I think I want the Simon one ^_^

Shake it twice from anywhere and listen closely. Be careful to get vertical shakes, as horizontals won't make a difference.

Also, if you get through all of the party modes and then it goes back to the first without getting to Simon, then you don't have Simon obviously ;)

Got it today! I love the platinum--really digging the brushed metal look. Very happy with the look and feel of this one relative the the first version, which is a champ. The P2 oven is nice and snug, and I'm digging the flat mouthpiece so far.

I won't get too specific with my initial fiddling, as others here have done so more eloquently than I could, but of special note is something @pakalolo mentioned off the bat--the enhanced flavor. Wow! A significant improvement from the original.

Put simply, the P2 makes it easy to manage flavor optimization.

Based on my experience with the original Pax (which I never needed to upgrade, not even the mouthpiece) and my first two sessions with the P2, I'm getting in line to buy another. And I'm getting the charcoal version.

To @Ojan_at_PAX and @scott_dunlap: Thanks for your presence here and please pass on my cheers and thanks to your fine colleagues. Two thumbs up!:tup:

Anyways, in reference to Simon Mode, I was thinking the same thing, but wasn't aware of the ability to reset.

If you've been around on other forums for the Pax 2, even just browsing, there are (esp on a certain site) many people mentioning they have some "alternative" Pax 2.

My P2 (charcoal) is definitely this version. Now, whether it's known to be different by PAX Labs is beyond me (and maybe @scott_dunlap or @Ojan_at_PAX can shed some light here), but my P2 has something different. It could be intentional, or there's my theory...

As a software engineer, I'm really inclined to think there may have been a batch of Pax 2's that received the wrong software during manufacturing.

Love you software engineers! Cracking the code.

The PAX 2's have multiple versions of the "easter eggs" hidden in Party Mode. Some play Funkytown, some play Simon, some play...well, we'll have to see what you all have found so far. Our hope was that different hidden features would make each of yours a bit more unique, and give you all something to talk about.

You're right that these features are all built in the firmware. It's not a flaw, but more different patterns by design. Our engineers here enjoy coming up with special surprises and unique ways to create a fun experience. The "Funkytown" for example, is the oven vibrating at a rate to create the right notes, played in the right order to get the melody. There is no speaker in the unit; I thought that was pretty creative.

If you have some ideas of others things it could do that would be fun, I'm happy to pass them on to the engineering team. I'm sure they would appreciate feedback from a PAX 2 enthusiast!

Does anybody at PAX labs have an ETA on when pax 2 accessories, like replacement screens are going to be available?

We are hoping to have accessories available online by the end of April. If for any reason you need screens prior to then, just contact our customer support and we'll get some to you.

Just got my Pax 2.

Initially I put in some hand shredded bud in, fairly full, lightly packed. I didn't get very thick vapor at any temp, but I did get some flavor.

Several attempts later I broke things up a little, and things worked a lot better. There also seems to be an angle of approach that the flat mouth piece works best with.

Very effective!

First time I've vaporized in a long time - definitely more my style experience than smoking.

So far so good. I like high temp 4 petals. Doesn't get black like the original pax. I really need a charger that works when traveling. It really won't work unless I wrap the charger to the Pax with a rubber band or something.

Great idea, actually. Not ideal, though, but certainly workable.

Found a cool hidden feature when playing with various modes: the petals went dark, and then would blink and blip right in line with my touches and movements. Different colors each time. Fun!

I was hoping this was the right answer!

I think it's cool that there's multiple variations of the Pax 2 each with its own easter eggs. My initial surprise was due to the fact that the early releases were all Simon models, but that's probably because they were all the same (silver!). It just means we get to spend more time playing with them (and maybe buy another?!)

Glad to hear it's not a flaw and glad to hear your engineers are so creative! I'm interested if you have any info on the whole Funky Town via oven vibrations. That sounds awesome to me. I get the physics behind it, but I'm astounded that one of your engineers came up with that and then somehow fit it into the engineering feat before us. That's just plain awesome.

My only complaint (but it's not a complaint) is that my Pax 2 doesn't have the option to turn off the oven while in the light painting mode as do the units with Simon. I don't have a 5th temp option is what I mean, so I probably won't use this mode since I don't want to waste my material. I'd say that adding that feature to all versions would be useful in the future.

I still dont have a tracking # either. Even though card is charged stills says processing on pax website. Hoping my box is here tomorrow (i paid expedited shipping).
Just got my pax 2 today and i'm so disappointed! First off i think they sent me a defective device; because the power button does not work. So i'm thinking maybe it needs to be charged? Nope all i'm getting is flashing LED lights in purple while its charging. I think i've just been screwed by ploom! I hope not.

Heyy. I would love to try this. I was referred to this post thru reddit. I was looking for an attachment just like this to use my mflb ufo with the Pax 2. I actually just signed up just to reply lol. Any help would be great!

Haven't gotten a chance to get caught up on this thread since they started shipping the Pax2. But I wanted to share an early prototype of my Silicone Waterpipe Adapter for the Pax2.

Sadly this first version is not 100% air tight, so I modified the mouthpiece section slightly (Scaled down 10%) and re-printed the mold last night. Vapor polished this morning, and casting revision 2 later today

As you can see - this adapter has my new Multi-fit end which fit's both 14mm and 18mm bubblers.

I should have this WPA finished sometime within the next week, may need a few people to test and confirm it works with the Pax2 since I don't have one yet!

Welcome to FC @Kerwinflo!

I'll be sure to post links on this thread once I have a listing on my store, You can also subscribe to RSS feeds on my site to keep updated with new products.

I printed my second prototype last night, and it looks to be air-tight! However I wasn't entirely happy with the fit, so I'm re-printing the inside mold tonight. I should have this accessory available by next week.

My pax 2 arrive today i couldn't have been more disappointed. I guess i had to be the lucky one to get a defective pax 2; and i guarantee you they won't fix or return my $280 dollars - i feel so stupid spending all of that money just to get junk!

I go where the thrills are
I had a chance to test drive the Pax 2 this afternoon, for two full sessions. I had a bit of a rocky start, but it didn't take me long to find the device's sweet spots. My initial observations (subject to change, natch)...

1. It works better with a full oven and a finer grind. My first bowl, medium grind, .14 g's, didn't work as well as the second when I packed .20 into the bowl and made sure it was fairly finely ground. That configuration netted me large vapor even at one petal, initially...less herb that's less ground required petal three before I got good hits. I was left with pretty dark brown ABV when I could no longer get any vapor from four petals...but I was also able to pull a couple large hits from each load through the E Nano, so like a lot of portables, the Pax 2 isn't quite extracting fully.

2. The taste is fine. For a conduction vape, it's pretty damned good. It doesn't degrade much in the back half, even at four petals (to my taste, anyway). Even if you don't use the cool-down feature, the Pax 2 isn't cooking the crap out of your weed the way other conductive vapes tend to (like the INH05, which I love, but don't leave it turned on!). The cool down feature itself works very well, and so does turning it off and restarting it an hour later...I finished my second session after a one hour interval, and the flavor was fine. So it is definitely a "session" vape, but you aren't completely locked into one session.

3. The draw is fine. It's average-restrictive for a vape...nothing uncomfortable. (I haven't tried the raised mouthpiece...the flat works very well.) The Pax does a nice thing...it tells you via LED when you draw too fast and overwhelm the heater. (I was doing this consistently at petal 4 until I slowed down my draw...if you do it correctly you can keep the lights green.) I find it about as restrictive as the FF, and way less than the Solo.

4. I don't know how many hits I took, but I only used half the battery. Pretty impressive....seemed like I got a lot of use in half a charge.

5. I have a Simon version. My wife was thrilled.

Overall, for a conduction vape, it's very impressive. It can't match the flavor of the FF, or convection in general, but that's an unfair comparison, and it really has surprisingly good flavor throughout a session. Now let's see how it holds up over time and heavy use...that's the real test, as we know all too well.

Here it is next to various other devices, and my Sigg bottle in matching turquoise.

Why do you think they won't replace it? They have a 10 year warranty and are really good about fixing issues...

Got my Pax 2 today. So far so good, BUT, I gotta say, the raised mouthpiece SUCKS in my very humble opinion. Using the same draw style as the Pax 1, the Pax 2 raised MP gets "tingly" hot. I'm not drawing 'too hard'; I believe the best way to hit the raised MP is to curl your lips inward somewhat, like a dry pucker, to avoid using the "pink" sensitive parts of the lips. Not a crazy big deal, but I hate schooling people when I share it. :goon:

But i'll give a run again in the morning that first morning hit we'll what the famous pax 2 can do! Stay Tuned.....
