Man im getting so sick of waiting....every night this week I've hoped it would my last EQ sesh. Came home to find my puppy chewed his harness off and destroyed it...so i guess some glass will have to wait. (looking at a D020-D).
Will my EQ whip mouth piece fit inside the stock whip?

The vape bags can be bought at VapeWorld for $5 for 5, they work well with a 18mm glass adapter(female-male), the large green mouthpiece from the Herbie and a rubber band. very simple and effective.

Sometimes my unit smells a little like "new electronics". And I think it's just the bulb heating up. I noticed if I don't use ther herbie for a bit it makes that smell for a little bit. Sometime I wonder if I dropped some material under the metal grill that the bowl sits on top.

Also for those asking about bags, buy a solid valve and make you're own bags - it really is the easiest best option... If you want leak-free. It my main method now.

I also use the Silicone on Glass (Ratchetts I think) adapter and a hydratube sitting on top of it

I only have easy valves. If i buy a solid valve kit, can i still use the oem herbie bowl or am i then forced to use the volcano bowl On my herbie?

Also, has anyone tried to use the zephyr ion bags and valves? I think the hole is too big, but im interested in trying.

Herbie finally arrived today. I had to leave for work shortly after so I only had one short test run with a small amount of SCS herb covering the bottom screen.

Tried a bag at 340 and 375 did not get thick looking bags. Saw some vapor in exhale and effects were very very limited. Tried a few hits on the whip at 392 and 430 and got nothing from the whip even with mouthpiece removed.
I will obviously continue testing later. I hoped the same amount of herb I put into an EQ elbow would work in this bowl but I guess I gotta try filling it more.

A few other initial thoughts: 1. My box says limited edition. 2. I didnt expect the buttons to be so rickety as well as the connection between top and bottom bowl pieces. 3. Bag filled before fan could shut itself off. Due to lack of herb in bowl I guess? We will see later. Hope I experience what I've seen so many of you experience with Herbie.

The low temp bags sound normal to me. Were your two bags and the whip hits off the same bowl? If so, I suspect two things. One, by the time you got to the higher temps you had used up some of the vapor, making the higher temp hits not as thick as normal. Two, I'll bet you never opened up the bowl to check the load. I check it after the first and second hits of every bowl for herb sticking to the top screen. That shit needs to be knocked off back into the bowl. When the top screen is covered like that you get very little vapor. Make it a part of your routine to open it up every time after the first and second hits. After a couple of hits it dries out and doesn't stick anymore.

I'm actually in the habit of stirring my EQ so I did in fact inspect the bowl, shake it, tap it, open it and even stir it up. A couple things I think may solve it is packing more herb, but also a slightly finer grind.

I will also look to put my EQ mouthpiece into a shortened stock whip tonight. May go with wider tubing soon too but I'd like to see what I can get from stock parts first.

Yea. Thanks for the input stickstone I enjoyed all your posts as I read (and still reading) thru this entire thread.

Love to hear when someone goes to the trouble of reading a thread, (or at least the last 30 pages or so). :)

Sticks is right on point about the lower temp and *VISIBLE* vapor. Doesn't mean you aren't getting vapor though, and, as you will note, one will get effects albeit different from higher temps. Some people here will start the day in the lower temp range, then bump it in the evening, then bump higher before bed.

I hoped the same amount of herb I put into an EQ elbow would work in this bowl but I guess I gotta try filling it more.

As you are reading the thread, I'm sure you will encounter the advice of a loosely filled bowl, about half way (to the flare) is optimal. Packing full or densely will negatively impact airflow.

I'm fairly sure all units are still LE units. If it is meteorize grey, then it should be.

The top and the bottom of the clamshell is a known issue. :( Doesn't affect performance in any way.

The airflow assit is just on a timer that should be *approximately* an original bag. Over time and unclean screens (or anything that impedes airflow, like over packing the bowl) would cause the opposite and the bag won't be full by shut off time.

Thanks nigel. The bag actually was full BEFORE the fan stopped lol which I think is due to a thin layer of herb. Compared to the EQ elbow screen I have always packed, filling the herbie bowl to the flare is considerably more herb. However if one bowl packed that high can last me an entire day on different temperatures than it will be nice.

Also, I was talking about the actual bowl top and bottom pieces being looser than I expected, not the herbie clamshell design. The steel inner bowl also spins around inside the bowl...normal?
One last thing...my herbie box did not come with a sticker/seal on it. Someone mentioned this in the page 218 area but it got buried. Is this the norm?

Yes!!

Normal.

The bag blower is on a timer. You will find that as your screens get dirtier the bags will fill up less before the timer shuts off. Right now you have clean screens that are allowing it to fill up before the timer expires. That and the amount of herb you pack in there...

Sucks that I read the whole thread over a couple weeks and now whn I need it I don't remember the answers...

My cooling fan turned on after 1 bag at max and has been on for at least 5 minutes already. I forget the amount of time that fan cycle is supposed to run. Additionally, the fan that comes on for a puff or two basically comes on every couple of seconds. Is it really supposed to come on that often?

EDIT: Reaching 10 minutes now..

Question for you guys,

On the area that the magnetic bowl snaps into, is your heater evenly centered? I notice that my heater is not centered, never has been. Just curious how it looks for others.

yes, at functioning temps there is a puff at frequent intervals.
The cooling fan for 15 minutes straight when I decided to stop it myself
sitting at top temperature, without any air being drawn through the system, would result in the fan staying on.
I have not experienced this, as when I am done directly using the unit (since it powers up and heats so fast), I shut the lid every time.
It does not seem out of the ordinary to me. Of course you will be monitoring this.
My thoughts are that considering that the fan for bags was now done, and hits were not being taken via whip... at top temperatures, the cooling fan would come on, and if the user left machine heating to 446 but without using the unit the cooling fan would continue to run.

Jack of all trades, master of none.
The cooling fan for 15 minutes straight when I decided to stop it myself....vape critic says it stops after 3 minutes. 15 mins seems very long. Vaporist @Vitolo have you any thoughts?
Also, you can turn the temp down while the cooling fan runs and it will cut down on the length of time it runs.

My silicone tube to connect to my bong keeps getting so sticky even when it doesn't contact anything.

Does anyone know why or how to prevent it?

Yeah mines not perfectly centered either

About the tackiness that forms outside the tubing at the vaporizer end of the tubing.People think silicone is impervious, but it is not. THC residues are strange and can enter hot silicone to an extent. The residues stay still after that. You can clean the outside of tubing where the stickiness has come through with Iso... and it will work only to show up again in hours.(even with non use) This is something that I learned to ignore, and the only cure is to cut down the tube an inch at a time to remove that tacky portion.. or just live with it...and eventually replace the tubing. 7th Floor Tubing (similar to Tygon) does not do this, but it also may not be ideal tubing for storage inside this device.

Interesting note about the tackiness. My theory:It seems worse when the tubing is cool. The reason is that the tube is then .. without heat in contracted state. The oils have exuded a tiny bit, as they seem to stay still. When you start to vape, the tackiness mysteriously vanishes. This is because the tube has expanded under the heat, and the material has "re-enveloped" the THC oils.. (silicone does have some permeability)
Silicone is somewhat porous, and when hot it expands, allowing some sublimate (condensate) to enter the tube, and bleed it's way through. During warming and cooling sticky substance can re-surface.
Pour 91% Iso on a paper towel, and grip the tubing firmly, and pull thr tube through a number of times... do it again with a fresh Iso treated Paper towel, and then wipe it dry. It will help, but will become sticky again later.
An alternative is a dusting of Baby Powder.

After a few days getting to play with Herbie I'm getting the hang of him. At first I was not getting much vapor production when using the same amount of herbs that I pack into my EQ elbow screen. But filling the bowl much more has yielded much better results. Was surprised by the clouds at 350 yesterday. By the way, I am using the stock whip but cut down to half the size and with an EQ mouthpiece.

Having to put "so much material" into the bowl is a bummer compared to what I'm used to so hope the temperature control allows a bowl to last all day.

I have a few video clips of noises I get from Herbie that I may upload here soon, I just wouldn't expect it to be normal operational noises.

One thing I notice about people who go to use my Herbalizer for the first few times... They never draw fast enough. They all seem to be used to slowing their draw speed to compensate for weaker heaters. So they don't get very thick vapor. Once I tell them to really hoover it they usually get better results. I even sometimes forget and draw slower.

Rush520 I would be interested to see how your unit sounds.
