MiniVAP Vaporizer

My charger has Input AC 100-240 50/60Hz 1.2A
Output 16.8v/2.5A

Have a travel adapter around?

It shipped with an adapter.........my bad.

Ok, got another question. Can I leave the charger plugged in 24/7 when I'm not charging the MV or should I leave it plugged in but disconnect the charging base or should I just unplug it completely when not in use, which for me, being the way my electrical outlets are set up, would be kind of a hassle.

As an example, I have a LaCross batter charger that I just leave plugged in all time to the AC outlet and I just plug in the charger to the adapter when I want to recharge the batts. Can I do the same with the MV?

Mine has always been plugged in.

But I like it!
Mine is plugged in now, and the MV had been dead for over a week now... Don't pour water on it D you should be dandy.

Ok, another newb MV question.

Regarding the baskets, do you put the basket in the chamber or do you lock it into the flexicon after inserting the ringed screen? Also, how do you take out the basket without dumping your bud everywhere, especially if its put into the flexicone.

Very carefully, I suppose, eh?

Also, the screen that goes inside the flexicone.......do you use the ringed screen or just a plain screen?

The herb stays together surprisingly well once it's been heated once, so it's not really messy tasking the cap off. I found the issue for me was putting it on without losing some.

put the ringed screen in the flexicone. fill the small basket and put it in the flexicone flush against the flat one you just put in. it should all snap into place. Set the basket into the chamber to see how it fits. Then take it out, place it upside down into a 14mm gong joint. Then invert the MV and set it onto the bubbler so the flexicone goes into the chamber like when you tested it.

Then hit it. Remove the MV when done hitting...the flexicone can stay on the gong joint. Obviously you should have had it warming up the whole time. I like to heat it up to the top and then back it down to the desired temp.

The one thing you should NOT do is use it while it is charging.

I always install filled baskets into the flexicone at the same time as the o-ringed screen. Same thing upon removal. I just bend a little of the flexicone up, poke my fingertip in there a little and take the basket and o-ring out in a oner.

Basket is locked into flexicone. From top to bottom: flexicone, plain screen to contain herb, herb, wire basket---all snapped together into a tidy package.

Then snapped into cover. Attach small mouthpiece or stock whip or longer whip.

mVbskt.jpg

For a bubbler, you can convert in 3 seconds. Unscrew cover, remove "wire basket module", invert into 14 mm joint, invert mV/ place over module and enjoy.

IonmV2.jpg

another method for water is with a whip connection/ below.
I often use the whip direct on low temps and then slip it into bubbler on high temps. MFLB whip has a nice wooden holder near the end and a glass 14 mm end which I like better than sucking on a flexible hose.

IonwMFLBwhip.jpg

Note that above connection at mV is easily disconnected. With song from Ratchett, the tube connection is rock solid.

mVsongDelrintop.jpg

It's a silicone cover (Song) that goes over the mV cover. Attaching a tube into it was a secondary discovery. The main use was to:
-- as above picture, but no tube, and place a 14 or 18 hydratube onto it. Song is available in 14 or 18.

-- with Song in place, invert mV into bubbler. 14 or 18 mm Songs are available.

There are many other methods , some already discovered and some yet to be discovered......

IMO, mV is the most versatile vape out there, especially when you consider you can use battery OR AC puck.
Hope the pics help lwien.

Ask as you go as mV owners manual is a joke

@lwien, if you're using it dry, try packing the chamber directly. I find that delivers the best taste with the newer models, and I haven't had much problem with mess.

I pack the chamber with herb, then place the small basket on top as a cap to keep the material in place. In this configuration, I use the hard cone connected to the top.

I've also used the small basket connected to the flexicone connected to the top. That way, the basket/cap comes off when you unscrew the top, so you don't have to touch the hot basket after use.

And prepare yourself... you're about to enter flavor country!

Thanks so much guys.

Ok, I tried what you guys suggested above last night but only got very wispy, almost invisible hits. Now granted, I got totally blazed from this but after using my LSV for so long, I'm kinda used to looking for some clouds. I'm not expecting this to be a cloud producer like the LSV, but I also wasn't expecting the visible wispy hits I was getting.

Maybe it's a temp thing. I tried it as soon as the blinking stopped on pink.........nothing. Turned it up to green. Started hitting as soon as it stopped blinking. Just a tad of visible vapor but nothing much. Tomorrow night, I'll try what Sticks suggested and crank it up till red until it stops blinking and then dialing it back to green.

Two more questions. Do you guys load up the MV while it's heating up or do you wait till it reaches temp before loading in your bud, and two, what about the grind? Fine through a finishing grinder or medium through a 2pc SC?

btw, I'm using the small basket rather than the big one. Should it be loosely filled or tamped down? Also, what about draw rate. Slow and steady, medium, or hit it hard?

Edit: Regarding the hard cone mentioned above, I didn't get that. I just got one fexicone in the package.
Also, I just noticed that I assembled the plastic mouthpiece backwards in that I had the mouthpiece connected to the long end of the stem ranter than the short end so that the short end was connected to the flexicone. Maybe the hits were wispy because I was getting some air leakage. HA......leave it to me to fuck up a totally complicated 2 piece construction project like mating 2 pieces of plastic together.

What a beautifully built vaporizer though. The tactical feel to it is really nice, from the body to the buttons.

@lwien, you shouldn't be getting wispy hits. MiniVAP delivers the biggest hits of any vaporizer I've ever used by far. However, there is a small learning curve. Don't worry, you'll get it.

I preheat mine on pink/purple (one step above blue) for ten minutes. I get huge clouds immediately.

You don't need the hard cone to pack the chamber directly. Like I said, you can use the small basket attached to the flexicone attached to the top. I really encourage you to try this setup. A few of us have found this delivers the best combination of clouds and flavor on the new models.

So you wait for 10 minutes even if it stops blinking way before that? If so, that could be my problem. I'll try Sticks method above as well as yours.

But yeah, I have no issue with a learning curve. I've gone through that with every vape that I've had.

I use the big basket when I use nugs. Give it whatever grind you want and just put it in there loosely. If you are using the small basket, sometimes I pack it a little tighter just because that basket holds so little.

I've found little need to preheat my newest unit.. But i always place a bright torch to the side of my WT so I have a real visual que.
I will however say, when it's been on awhile and all components have reached some kind of equilibrium(said in french accent lol) my unit delivers even more, and can cash a basket a few hits faster.

I use the large basket almost exclusively, lightly packed and ground up fluffy using a Space Case grinder. I use the 'pink' (some say it's blurple :)) setting. It will take two or so hits after it reaches temp for the big clouds to come as with the TcMV it's mostly heated by convection. I take longish steady hits to pull as much heat thru the load as I can. I hit dry most of the time with a glass straw.

Pics below (it's my old black unit, have silver now, but you get the idea)

I do. The newer models do preheat more quickly, so you can get clouds after the light stops blinking (usually around 5 minutes). After a lot of experimenting, however, I find preheating for longer on a lower temp creates the optimal conditions for flavor and cloudage. Higher temps tend to burn out the taste for me, even if I've stepped down to a lower temp setting before hitting. Could all be in my head, though.

When you try the method @stickstones describes, if red proves too hot, consider preheating on green then stepping down to pink/blurple. He can certainly correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he mainly uses an older model. Red is really, really hot on the new models. Frankly, green blows out the taste completely for me personally on my new teflon MV, though you do get enormous clouds.

the 'pink' (some say it's blurple :)) setting
It looks like violet to me, but I default to"pink" and "blurple" because everyone else seems to. It's like MiniVAPers' version of that wedding dress debate from a while back lol.

Almost there...
@lwien
I have had my MV since December 2014.
Heat up is always on Blurple until the light stops flashing, wait a minute or two.
I heat up with the chamber empty but the lid on.
Once heated, i remove the lid and take about 3 empty pulls to preheat the chamber.
Load up the flexicone and start inhaling.
First 2 are usually a bit light but the 3rd onwards are very good!!

Congrats @lwien and welcome to the club!

Lots of different methods to use this and in the end it comes down to your preference so have some fun experimenting.

I suspect with your usage and tollerance you will probably stick to the small basket but the EQ baskets are sized in between the two MV baskets and work as well. A nice option if you want something in between but more importantly they are less expensive and more accessible than the MV baskets since it seems you can only find those from Spain. Someone please correct me and direct me if I'm wrong. I would love to find a U.S. based seller for MV supplies.

But I like it!
For the few days mine worked I turned it to red white filling baskets, and by the time the basket is ready I bump from red to blurple and giddy up.

I s using a fairly firm pack in both screens, and when it's in the flexicone it had room to move when you inhale. Packing too firm and you'll notice degraded draw right away.

I tried a few of the tips from here, as well. I like putting whole buds in, as well, but I'm a bit ham-fisted with the wee screens and found it a bit of a pita to open and stir without getting warm flower particles every where...

Going to start poking VN after the weekend to get this thing back for repairs! It broke the day after I sold my Inhalater, and now I'm travelling for another week, living on tincture and cookies... I feel a bit dirty... :)

Get the O-ringed screens.. Sooo much better. Also the revised large baskets with the extended rim are my new fave.. I only have one of em though!

Edit: The O-ringed screens are actually marginally smaller in diameter too.. Think this was done intentially to stop the flexicones stretching out.
The o ringed screen mated with the new basket is super easy to install and remove with no mess at all.

Just pulled the trigger, ordered my TcMv silver from Hermes directly, I NEEDED to know what the flavour hype was about. :D

Does anyone have experience purchasing from Hermes, do they take a while to process your order? I'm going to be hitting this thing dry so I think investing in some glass straws or longer tubing would do me good.

Limitless in your choice of dry mod.
I'd say one of @Ratchett SonG is a pretty good way to go though. Will let you effortlessly add a dry mod and have in place what you'd need for inverted WT use or non inverted hydratube usage.
Enjoy the feck outta your Mv though my man!

Edit. Hermes can be ridiculously fast at processing and shipping.. Or they can also be slow as sin.

Good on you. Pretty confident you'll be happy in your decision.

I've only ordered parts for my MV from Hermes, but both times were amazing fast....it made it from Spain to the East Coast area of US in three-four days. But as @Kommyknocker alluded to, sometimes with Hermes it's hit-miss in the shipping expedience department.....ditto with communication. In the end though, they always seem to come thru in a good way.

Ok.......finally got it. Took Sticks method of heating up in red and once it reaches that temp, back it down to desired temp. Between that and putting together the 2pc plastic mouthpiece correctly (), I was able to produce some nice cloudage. Now I gotta back back it down a bit more from green to purple to see about 'dem tastes.

Whew...........I was beginning to think I had a faulty unit but it still may be running a bit cool being that I can hit it red and the ABV is still a uniform medium brown.

I can definitely get darker abv from my repaired core(latest heater)..
Even on green I can get it darker than red could on my previous models.

How was the hit?
