Super Surfer Vaporizer

Is it common that an established company create an igg for an upgraded version of one of their products? It makes me feel that 7th floor needs some money.

i think it is common and 7th floor does want more money. (who doesn't?)
but they will have to earn it just like the rest of us.

As this comedic entry into the crowdfunding scene expires, one might wonder - considering the direction the industry is going right now - the very idea that a $600 do-it-all(most) desktop vaporizer would get any traction at all shows that 7th Floor just isn't paying attention to its own industry or customers. Seems like a portable LSV would have been the smarter direction to head. Even W9 has micro-sized the same ceramic heater that 7th Floor uses...a portable LSV just seems to make so much $ense.

I agree, I'd love to have a portable LSV. All companies are probably feeling the squeeze as more vendors enter the Vaporizer marketplace. We've come a long way since even the LSV was released.

One thing i do like about this is where the power cord is attached and the placement of the control nobs.
never liked the "which is the front or back ?" question and really disliked the cord coming outta what I always thought should be the front of the SSV. (wish you could still get the standard heater cover for the DBV as I like it's design so much better than the SSV)

I know it's a little detail but having the wand and cord on the same side bothered me like crazy, as stupid as that may sound.

But the Mood lighting leds alone kill this for me.

Re-branded? maybe. Knockoffs? no. Those are two different things. They put their name on their vape pens, that counts.
You are correct, they are not knockoffs, I stand corrected. What they are though is pre-existing marginally functional China-made products that 7th Floor has their name printed on. Quite different from the great quality, US-made vapes that they built their name on. It's a me-too product. They do great work on the custom glass portion, but sadly this greatly increases the cost of the pen without effecting function (imo).

The larger picture here tying it back to the point of this thread, is that 7th Floor seems to have gone off the tracks a bit; as desktop vapes are clearly in the decline now that portables have solidified proper function, (one look at the Desktop Thread Candidates tells the story) its odd that they chose to put so much time and effort into a super duper desktop with bells and whistles as opposed a portable model. Its fans on this site have asked for a portable LSV since its inception. I don't think anyone was dying for the SSV to have a bag. Considering W9 Tech has procured a smaller, portable version of the ceramic heater that made 7th Floor famous, it just seems odd that they went in the opposite direction of the will of the people. But its a company that can, and should, do exactly what they feel is best. Its not for me to judge. But :bang: !!!!

I, like so many others, would just LOVE LOVE LOVE a mini LSV, all glass, same design, portable and battery powered. An Arizer Air that looks like an LSV. Oooops.

I am sorry to hear the disappointment surrounding the promotion of the Super-Surfer, but can assure you that if our latest development is not to your taste, there will be more to come.

Portables are of keen interest in my eyes, as is new desktop development. Hopefully the results will be of a surprise to most.
I can only promise, that every drop of sweat perspired will be in the development of products to satisfy the requirements of the community.
After all, i owe my very position, personality, and perspective to the online subculture surrounding the plant.

The opinions expressed in this thread are ALL duly noted and discussions WILL take place to make sure that the community and patrons are served as they wish to be.

It seems a cordless LSV is just a step off this design. Could be easily done I believe. Hehe. This thing uses AA batteries but an portable LSV powered by a 3000mah 18650 lithium ion battery could be a BEAST! Would like more than the Super Surfer I think.

I worked from Colorado Springs last summer and finished my education here in scotland.

Excellent that 7th Floor is listening to its customers and fanpeoples. Portables...that's the thing.

Do you still work for 7th Floor, and if so, what is your role? Its great that the company is finally making its presence felt on FC again, I was just curious as to what position you held with the company. Are you based permanently in Scotland? What is the herbal environment like there? Do people prefer portables to desktops in Scotland?

On a scale of 1 to 10, what would you say are the chances of marijuana legalization in Scotland/England/Ireland within 5 years?
