@THC SCIENTIFIC, I got a couple KISS carts with black wicks and TI 2 (yes! thanks!). I tested them all to make sure they worked and they do. Just a quick 1-2 second button press to see that they work for each one.

Ok, so I do have a question though. On the test firing, the wire got red hot for just a millisecond before I released the button. On 2 of the 3 carts the hot spot of red glow appeared on a small segment of wire on the topside of the wick, in a slightly different position on each of the 2, but both on the topside.

The 3rd one has a hot spot of glow on the test fire that is at the bottom of the cart, where the wire exits the bottom of the ceramic cup, that hot spot barely makes contact with the wick, it's basically under it and right at the bottom of the cup, even a glows a bit under the cup on the side it's on. So, is that one normal / ok to use?

I'm pretty new to this stuff, so please forgive me if it's a dumb question...

Sure, and yeah already loaded, so in the bin it goes if no good, but not worried about that, just want to make sure this is ok to use since it seems to heat up differently than other carts I've had:

The lite minicron and vaporizer are smaller lower capacity batteries I was pretty happy with the battery life of my ophos but eventually switched to the Persei for more power/options

The Omi Lite and the Ophos are essentially the same devices only difference is the threads on top. Ophos being a 601 Ego and the Omi Lite being a 601 Mod.

So, I've been putting little drops of EJMix on my wick and actually I'm having good results. Any one else do this?

Quick update on the Kiss Alpha Centauri.

The second generation 1701 ceramic coils will be designed to work with the Kiss AC.

My latest w9 order arrived today and I am thrilled to have the Ti kiss with black wick now. Been using the black in the globe but nice to have regular kiss in Ti black. Never heard of w9 before January and I'm already starting to accumulate a collection. Can't wait to try out that AC

Hey peeps! Quick question, apologies if it's already been answered. I ordered my Ophos on Monday after calling and talking with W9 CS to make sure I was getting black ceramic. I was told the Ti with black ceramic wasn't in the stainless Ophos by default, but that if I ordered the 3.7V Ti kiss cart, it would come with black ceramic. I picked up the Ophos unit and 2 Ti 3.7V carts. Much to my surprise, the cart that came in the Ophos had black ceramic, but the two Ti carts had white ceramic.

How did I fail at this? Are there 3.7V Ti Kiss carts with black ceramic available for the Ophos? I'd prefer the cart match the battery (chrome w/ stainless, whatever), but performance is 1000x more important than looks. Also, as a representative of the softer side of stoners, this thing is absolutely pretty enough to go everywhere with me. Unlike my Cera, it doesn't look like a s3x toy, which is nice.

On the bright side, it should be done charging any second, and LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!

Dang it. Oh well. At least now I have spare carts if I want to load different things.

Is it too early to start agitating for the AC cart to come out? Srsly, this is my first W9/Delta9/UpTech/Whatever purchase, but I already love it so much.

Also, baked. But I did lick a bunch of oil off my fingers when I was loading this thing. Wasn't it supposed to come with a jar and a tool? That would have been handy about 10 minutes ago.

shortly after I received my old ophos last year they started including the oil kit with the ophos with the spring loaded center pin but I think they no longer include the oil kit

That's a bummer. The instruction book said it should be there, so I looked for it… I'm glad I'm not just totally incompetent. On the bright side, this thing is awesome. I'm not a cloud chaser at all, more of a stealth stoner, but I keep accidentally producing clouds because it's so smooth. And now I can amazingly produce error free typing (Thanks, OCD!), but I'm not sure I could make it down my stairs. Soooo baked.

Last question: I'm pretty sure I read that the best battery maintenance for these is to let them run all the way down before recharging them. That's one way to kill the life of Lithium phone batteries, so I thought I'd double check.

@Organica, when the time comes, buy some FC-2000 ceramic wick and rebuild those KISS carts with the white ceramic...while it may not be the same as UP Tech's 2nd generation black wick, IMO it does a damn good job.

That's not correct. Our vaporizers use lithium ion batteries, so just like your cell phone, running them down all the way before charging the battery is actually the quickest method to kill the battery.

At 100% depth of discharge you could expect less than half the lifespan than if you only discharged the battery halfway. Actually about a third.

Here is some information on lithium ion batteries: http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_prolong_lithium_based_batteries

@Severmore Thanks for the link! I know some people that put together rigs, but man… it looks like a LOT of work. I'll probably get sucked into it eventually though. *sigh* Just what I need… another hobby.

@SamuraiSam Thanks for the info. I've been hesitant to run it all the way down, so I'm glad I waited for an answer. That would have suuuuuucked.

Are the stock white ceramic rods closer to the 1/8 size or the 7/64th size? Also, do I just break down the ceramic by snapping it to KISS cart skillet size?
I'm not sure, I used the 1/8th size, as there was more surface area and volume to absorb oils. I measured the width of the ceramic cup, and cut that length from the FC-2000 rod using a new razor blade and a tap with a rubber mallet. IME, you're better off cutting your wick slightly too long than short.
