MiniVAP Vaporizer

But I like it!
I've sent a couple of emails to Kyle @VaporNation to see how to start the return process, but no response as yet. I'm travelling vape free this week... Tincture is pretty fun, and will be a part of the routine going forward. Wonder if I can have a T break by living on medibles for a couple of weeks?

You don't need to email Kyle.....just initiate a return ticket thru the web site. You'll have plenty of time between sending the unit in and getting a replacement to email, talk to, and text Kyle to your hearts content. It really is a minimum 3 week process once you get the ball rolling.

Thanks! I didn't know that. Will check website tonight and get things moving. I'm living on dank cookies and tincture till this thing starts heating up again...

Mine was charged when I got it. I left it on base the first night I had it.

Even though it may come pre-charged from the factory, most electronic manufactures recommend that their products still be charged for a specific amount of time to help maintain the life of the battery.

Agreed. I left it on base overnight. But before I did that I put the battery on and it fired itself up. Handy to know that when the batt goes on it fires up, even if the batt is on the charger.

Fine screen, then small ring, then screen and then large ring

What about the second screen that's the amaze size as the one that you see when you open the MV lid and look into the oven tip

In general, how are you guys finding the reliability of the new tcmv and gcmv's, is it still a lottery whether you get a good one or not?

Unless my mind has gone, all my TcMV units have had two screens...the sequence I mentioned before. The fine screen to protect the heater core, then the screen that separates/is between the small and large rings.

The new heater cores are solid. I'm sure someone will get a dud, but that should be a rare exception to the rule. It's a real good time to jump on the MV ship.....safe sailing ahead .

Huh well I have a tcmv as well and when I popped everything out I got a fine screen and two thicker wider screens of the same size. I wonder if this could change performance. ?

And I was just about to pull the trigger on a mighty, now I'm at crossroads once again. :D

It's weird how I'm not given the option to choose between a tcmv and a gcmv on the eu version of their website, but can on the U.S. One.

Edit: never mind, figured it out. Smknbud do you know which of the two provides the best flavour? I was told the gcmv cooks your herb while its in the chamber and that the flavour is less than that of the tcmv. Could you please shed some light on this. :)

I don't see how an extra screen will affect performance to any degree, but you can try removing one to find out.

I use a basket, so I have pretty much three levels of protection to keep crap from getting into the heater core area, the basket screen, then the coarse screen and finally a fine screen .....and as it is, the loading chamber of mine is spotless.

I believe the general consensus is that the TcMV takes the flavor nod....but the glass core not far behind.

@lwien - just put it on the charger until it turns green. the light is on the brick, not the battery or stand.

Ok, staying a bit on the battery questions, I don't know the chemical makeup of the MV batt but is it recommended to charge frequently or is it recommended to run the charge way down before recharging?

Also, when downloading their user manual from their site, it is in Spanish. The only English version is the quick start guide. Is the manual printed in English when shipped 'cause if not, I'm comin' back with more questions...

i think (from 5 years ago when this thread started) the battery is LiFePO4, which is good for several thousand recharge cycles - so it really doesn't matter how you do it. Li-poly/Li-ion only get several hundred recharges before losing significant capacity.

also LiFePO4 is an extremely safe chemistry and not so hazardous.

I'm no battery engineer but studied all I could find on LiIon battery care, what to do for max battery life.
1. they don't like extended storage at full charge---not an issue if you use regularly
2. they don't like being run down to near zero
3. they don't like being charged/discharged at the same time. Hermes also recommends do NOT use while on charger

So my personal method is to try to keep it in the sweet spot/middle. Because it has such big capacity I tend to pull it off the charger before it goes green, to keep it in the sweet spot. This is certainly not necessary but just trying to maximize the battery life .

Another thing I often do is bring it up to temp with the AC puck and then attach the battery for mobility of use. Going from room temp to 400F + takes a lot of power while keeping it at 400 takes much less. With this method it seems like battery charge lasts forever, or almost :)
Their AC puck is pricey but I'm glad I got it

edit---one mV site lists battery as an accessory and that it is Li -Ion. That's what I always thought it was...................................

$109.00

Almost there...
Just updating on my home made glass herb chamber!
Still rocking it for every load!
I have been taking bits of nug and loading them and just packing that way.
No grinding at all, just a light press to kind of crumble the nug in the chamber!

Just tried the ABV from the MiniVap in my LSV and got a tiny good tasting puff of white!

3 months now and never skipped a beat!
I need a cloisonné adapter for a MV and a LSV hit!!!
:whoa::science:

So the MV just got delivered. So excited. Unpacked it and.............damn. They sent me the wrong AC cord. Looks to be European rather than USA. Do I just need a new cord or do I need to send the whole thing back?:

EDIT: I just found the adapter.......

My charger has Input AC 100-240 50/60Hz 1.2A
Output 16.8v/2.5A

Have a travel adapter around?
