Anyway, don't mind me, just totally underestimated some lemon haze I just got... :ko: And thinking it's gonna taste even better in my solo tomorrow! :tup:

The great thing is there is a lot of variety out there. Portables for all. I have my eye on the Pax2 simply because it could be a little more discreet than the solo. But then I can hit my solo on the train platform and no one notices.

Vaporizing is the key doesn't matter what you use. But the solo is solid all round.

At home I always have a Solo ready to go. One is charging while the other is in use. Very easy to practice good battery charging practices this way as well. I rarely run the Solo battery down to when the charge light comes on and so far have never charged all the way to the top.
On the road there is the car charger and extra battery pack; the kind people charge laptops with.
The Solo has decent battery run time, which is why I have held back on getting the Air until the price comes down a bit more.

Got great deal on Air on PV and put through paces. Great vape, great engineering and design, love the Air, but Solo is still my daily driver. The Air's two main shortcomings, which are negligible if you have Solo backup, are abbreviated 10 minute sessions and a battery that lasts only 4 full sessions. As a portable on the go, the Air can't be beat.

PV surprised me with this demo piece .
I'm saying demo , b/c it only has one blue nub .
I'm using a Y-adapter for easy lift off for hitting .

This could get out if hand ;) I'm glad arizer haven't taken the urge to supply different coloured solos ... just the Black and silver works imo.

One thing I simply love about my solo is it's lack of required maintenance. My oven has some staining from hash and the like but I never clean it except blowing out any crumbs of herb. My stems get very black before I scrap out the reclaim and the mighty solo just keeps on delivering. As long as the air holes are clear I just use it. Love it.

I just realized I can't remember the last time I used my Solo. Think last time was when I first got the Air and the only battery I had died.

Personal Savior at the Great HooHaw
Super excited first-time vape-er here. After some research I decided on an Arizer Solo. Ordered from Aroma-Tek. Great price, super fast 2-day shipping. Arrived on time.

Pulled it out and did a full charge on the battery. That went exactly as expected.

Removed it from the charger and pressed both buttons for lift-off. Got the tone, got the idle light and LED #1. Arizer includes a little first-time use instruction page that says to run a full 12 minute cycle at #7 before attaching the glass tube.

So, I pressed the up arrow to #7, idle light went out, Heat LED started to flash BUT then the Idle light came back on and stayed on Hmmm. Isn't the Idle light supposed to go off? Unit heated up in spite of this fact.

So, emailed Aroma-Tek and am awaiting a response. If this Idle light thing is messing up, could it be a harbinger of worse things to come? Better get it right while I can, right???

I was sooooo hoping to have my first vape today but I guess it will have to wait. I am bummed ! ! !

Anyway I've been enjoying reading this forum. I've learned a LOT from your posts It's a great place to share.

My blue idle light is always on too. I also think if it's working fine you wouldn't want to hassle with sending it back. Of coarse if it wasn't working right that's a different story.

I hope everything turns out OK @canchar. Hopefully you will spend many happy hours together.

Hello, and welcome to FC! :wave: You'll like it here, lots of knowledge and everyone around here is super nice. It's my favorite place on the internet because of those two things.

I wouldn't worry about the idle light staying on, I believe it's supposed to. (Mine is always on anyway, and from what I've read, so are others'). You made a good choice with the Solo, I just got one and IMHO it's a great vape!

So anyway, vape on, and don't let that idle light get you down! ;)

First off, howdy, welcome to the FC, this Forum and vaping! Great choice with Solo. Very solid.

As others have said, "Idle" means idle. Like in your car, the power's on, everything is OK and awaiting your pleasure. Perhaps if they'd labeled it "Standby" it would make more sense? Have to use even smaller letters then........

Hopefully you've read enough to be able to enjoy it? That's what you should be busy doing right now you know. Plan to experiment with it. For starts, don't worry about grinds, even intact buds will do fine if they're well cured (dry). Don't pack it too hard, that will goof you up. Eventually you'll want to try screens, but for now that too can wait. I'd suggest starting on step 3 or 4. Vapor production should be easy at that level, plan first to try different heat levels.

Take it easy until you understand vapor as opposed to smoke. Your mind won't get many of the normal clues (like all the nasty stuff.......). In a funny sort of way your mind long ago got that (nasty stuff) all mixed up with the THC. It expects them together. It might take several days or even a week or two of absolutely no smoking to break that mental link. Your brain needs to learn you don't have to stick your face in the campfire to get off. We all went through it. No cheating, not even once.......

Naw, but feel free to write one after you sort it out......

Most of us use custom stems from PV with built in "GonG" (Glass on Glass) fittings to match their WT:

They are usually out of stock, be ready to jump fast if they show in stock.....

You can also use the stems for the Air with the plastic caps or one of the excellent wood stems from Ed (both of which fit in 14mm female GonG WTs).

To play with lots of guys use their straight Solo stem directly in the connector with a rubber band or similar around the end for a gasket.

There's a start.....information to add to the confusion.

I've had my solo for a little over a month now and this is still my go to. Zero combustion since picking this thing up. Absolutely loving this device.

Decided to try upgrading and picked up a plant vapes vortex stem. I have not been happy at all with the purchase unfortunately. Had to pick up some silicon o rings to get it somewhat snug. Before the oring fix, the stem had zero resistance. Anyways the airflow is too much for me. Regardless of the position within the solo, the air flow is so intense that it doesn't vape very well. Ended up going back to the stock stems after a few unsuccessful attempts. Has anyone else experienced the issue of too much airflow with the vortex stem?

Others have expressed an unhappy experience with the Vortex stem. They thought it was too much air. There have been others that have been happy. You may want to try other PVHES mouthpieces but that is the intended use. All PVHES mouthpieces have extra air chambers for more air flow.

My Vortex stem is tighter in the Solo than my other stems that I have, except for my wooden stems. I have several PVHES glass pieces along with a couple of @Ed's TnT wooden stems.

You may want to stick with the stock stems, they are awesome too. The stock stems are loose in the Solo, that's not a flaw IMO. That's how you get the big clouds the Solo is known for. You need to do what works well for you, not what other people think. We all have our own opinions. There is no right or wrong, it's what's best for you.

I use CHILLUM ' S on the end of my SOLO stems.
Volume wise the vortex stem is awesome.
Like you say: "to each his own"?

By inserting a slightly oversized screen into the stem, you can make a little half-sphere shape that keeps the screen away from the little holes. This reduces load size and improves efficiency, at the same time providing more evenly vaped load and keeping small particles from being pulled through the stem and into the mouth.

I've been using domed screens like this in my solo and I am really pleased with the performance. I wouldn't do it any other way, unless I was vaping with other people and needed the bigger load.
