The heater/exchanger also troubles me the most. I was ready to pre-order but after hearing this update I'm going to wait to see what transpires. The fact that their cost for the heater is probably upwards of $20(wild guess but if they were told $40 for the pre-revised model) each on a $135 vape is very troubling.

How have they not nailed down the design/pricing of the heater by this point? One of the most critical components and one that does not scale for mass production as well as other components.

Sadly I can't see them making it as a company with the minute margins they must plan on working off, that or I can easily see this becoming a $200+ for the base model.
Well if the product performs as intended I could see it becoming a $200 product anyways really. Everyone has to start out somewhere. They're some young entrepreneurs that are trying to get things down, I'm sure once things get rolling it should smooth out
30 heaters per week, even if they manage to somehow get 3x that or 4 times that per week....it will be many months till they can meet backers let alone pre-orders. Maybe the heater manufacturer agreed to buy some extra equipment?
I would think(assumption here) once they get the production down to be able to get the heaters out in a higher quantity, bumping the mass production shouldnt be a huge ordeal, they just need to figure out the way to get the process of producing them down which hopefully won't take too long

I don't see how this late in the game, the number of heaters manufactured and their cost could be so up in the air. Isn't this stuff based on contracts and design specifications? If the design specs are being worked out, how could there be any expectation about performance? Or final cost?

This sort of scares me too, this company has taken in probably half a million dollars at this point, kinda weird if they did not have the specs down seeing as they were supposed to be shipping this month.

okay so just went over the update again and I am unsure if this is what is going on. Have they ever said the initial cost of the part? I read it as they upped their order for them to produce more a few weeks ago and producing a larger amount caused issues which they figured out though for the time being they can only produce a limited amount at a time (see no change in specs) and at a revised price... lower price bc of inconvenience? or higher bc unexpected costs in making the part, but nothing with a huge impact on GH as a whole besides getting enough parts to get all the orders out. Thoughts?

PM Me later tonight, I have a used Pax1 being delivered later today to get me by until my GH ships lol
Sounds like you need to press the button. Did it just recently stop entirely heating?

2.0 or 1
i have the 1. i hold the button until its at max temp and still get nothing. i used to turn it on and rip it a few on green no button. then hold the button wait and hit. hold the button wait and hit. etc. now i get absolutely nothing. and sometimes it just shuts off with no low battery indication or 5 red blinks

Can't think of one positive thing to say about the GH, so I will extend many thanks to my fellow FC'ers for expressing all of my feelings/frustrations along the way. I committed quite a lot to the campaign, and now I can say I have personally experienced the extreme high/crash associated with crowdfunding. Thanks to the GH crew for your efforts, I plan on donating both my GH Ti models.

Possibly, but usually quantity drives down price. Either way $40 for a part is pretty high cost. I figured it wouldn't get mentioned except to explain a future price hike. Since it was called a "victory to not be permanently crippled", it sounds like more than a ramp-up cost issue.

Since the delivery dates are already up in the air, why the need to drive up a price by rushing orders? Also, when there's a need to fly in for a sudden in-person meeting, that's a red flag for me. Most issues can be solved without air flights, but maybe they needed to solve this one with the peace pipe. :spliff:

Sounds like your battery no longer holds a charge. Do you ever use it while charging, that is honestly the only way I use my 1.0 battery now.

Those of you waiting to quit combustion using the GH should check out some of the other small sleek portables that are in the FC Forum.

The Arizer Air is small and is stealth like. Some of the other portables mentioned above too. I have an Air and it's a pretty awesome portable vaporizer. You may be able to find one for about $200. Cheer yourself up by getting a new vape, one that's available to purchase now.

Do some research on some of the threads, get your mind off of this portable for a little while, it must be stressful.

This is some excellent advice - nothing soothes the stress of anxiously waiting for a vaporiser quite like ordering another vaporiser does.

IMO, the only positive thing to say about them is that they have been updating us twice a month. Many projects choose to do one monthly update or just update when they have news worthy information (anywhere from 2-4 month periods of silence).

I rarely quote myself but when I do its for a reason . . .
Looking at the imgur pics I can see these guys are seriously organized and will have a product to all of you very soon.
Boy was I WRONG. Never thought I would see a comment about a "crippling" event like this regarding the heater construction. I just assumed they were working. Just goes to show, I do NOT know shit . . . :disgust:

I wish you all the best on this project but I'm done speculating with these guys at this point. Glad I didn't order one, however, the Evoke guys got me so there is that . . .

We can only hope that the heater issue is resolved, and they have an alternate source in place for all parts.

It's entirely possible that it's a scam of sorts...a product Ponzi scheme. They collect investor money, create a few proof of concept products, but never intend to deliver. If they get investigated, there's a plausible case that an actual product is being developed, but due to circumstances outside their control, the product is delayed. With a bit of cleverness, the so-called production problems can be orchestrated by choosing unqualified manufacturers and creating impossible engineering requirements.

If this company were legit, they wouldn't have broken so many promises. For example, no delivery promises would have been made until the finished products were in hand. It's really that simple. At the very least, they're bullshitters for making promises they know they can't keep and/or inept for having no clue how to manufacture a relatively straightforward product.

The facts, for those that care, are clear: money collected for product and numerous false promises. That's unethical business. I hope the moderators are willing to let these facts get a reasonable, if harsh, interpretation, even from a new poster.

It's one thing to express what you stated as a possibility, like you initially did. If you left it at that, I don't think the mods would react, but it's quite another to accuse them of doing that without solid proof which you also did and I think that is what the mods may respond to.

You've made your skepticism of the company's legitimacy very clear. All of the above has been raised ad nauseum throughout over 200 pages of this thread. Your comments add nothing to the discussion without any solid proof of wrongdoing, just more speculation and noise.

If you would like to discuss these matters further, feel free to PM me, but do not continue accusatory posts in this thread as they can only be considered company bashing and we don't allow that around here.

I dont k ow if its such a big deal, it's vague, but we knew end of march was aong shot. Some time in April is still possible, these seem like hiccups more than anything else, toward the final push. They seemed to say heater production issue is resolved now... I guess we'll know more when we no more, nothing new. This is still the waiting game, always has been, sorry to those who expected otherwise
