I own a T-vape. loved it even though it had very low vapor production. T-vape doesnt heat up enough anymore, something wrong with the oven. have tried a pax and loved it, and preordered a gh. someone talk me out of going to get a pax 1. i cant wait until after may to get back to vapor. fuck combustion. should i spent 200$ to bridge the gap between now and the gh? other option is to keep combusting which i cant stand

There are plenty of other options btw, especially to replace your broken TVape and hold you over for GH, why pay that much even?

Check out the xmax v2/Storm, Imag, FlowerMate, V2 pro, others as well. A much cheaper portable conduction option (without as much maintenance and other pros/cons)

My ceramic has been passed to a combuster friend whose been enjoying it very much. Sexy carbon fiber

So far I've been liking the new xmax v2 better though, and Storm seems like an even stealthier version (just got one)

I gave another combuster friend my original metal Imag+, and it recently died on him. Gonna upgrade him to xmax i think.

I wish they had said what "we were back down close to our original numbers" means. How many heaters per week were they originally expecting?

When I saw 30 heaters per week I calculated that to deliver on just the 2,744 backer units (based on # of perks claimed on Indigogo site) it would take 91 weeks.

I have no idea how many per-orders they have after that or where I stand in that list but assuming I was the first pre-order (which I'm not) for me to get mine by May 31 they need to get at least 300 heaters per week.

Were they really able to get the supplier to up their output ten-fold? I hope so.

Sounds like you need to press the button. Did it just recently stop entirely heating?

I'm struggling to make sense of what this means in terms of when I'll get my order. Does this mean my estimated ship date of may has been moved to july? I don't think I can wait any longer, I want it now lol. Kind of disheartening, I'm getting impatient already and I only found out about this vape a few weeks back so god knows how early backers feel.

I am not sure, guessing it means delays by at least a month....yeah I was one of the first backers, I can't complain to much at 89 dollars shipped though....slightly impatient but hell sometimes your tire gets a flat and your late.

On of the IGG commenter's posted this interesting tidbit:

"Let’s hope the “insane” batteries don’t outgas into the vapor stream. Lithium batteries outgas, and most lithium batteries used in small electronics are made from lithium cobalt, which is a suspected human carcinogen http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium_iron_phosphate, and contains toxic halogens. If battery casing is made from rolled steel instead of stainless steel, it likely contains cadmium and zinc that you don’t want to inhale. Is the battery compartment fully sealed and isolated?"

I read that sentence to mean they got the price per unit back down to nearly the original price quoted earlier to them

The kickstarter ended in 2013 if I recall, there have been numerous setbacks. I preordered after I knew they were close to completion, and never expected them to hit my May 'expected ship date'.

I knew I would get antsy since I have been lacking a stealth vape for six weeks now, so I bought a cheap used vape to keep me preoccupied until my GH ships :D

My understanding is they actually expected to come home to a couple thousand ready for assembly. Even if that was the case, the update is unclear if all other parts were ready or not. They stated things were going well but did they come home with all other parts or not?

The weekly count should be how many actually backers have received a GrassHopper, so far none. Then the next should be has ONE for a backer even been produced yet? If yes, why haven't any "scattered shipments" began I've seen the boxes.

I hope all those pieces and foam are there otherwise it could be another 5 months.

i think that Chinese should make heaters, i guess that they can produce more than only 30 per week (at least 1000)

They told me about a week ago that I was in the second shipment and I ordered mine January 30th.. I have no idea what that is supposed to mean now though.

I emailed him earlier this morning. I asked a few questions about what delays to expect and to clarify what they meant about "within the month" when it came to the heaters. I asked about them saying "expect more units to trickle out," I asked if that meant that they had shipped some to early backers when they got back? I also asked if the info on their site is still good or did they have to make any concessions to get the manufacturing finished. Ie does the battery still put out the same wattage, did heat up time or battery life change? I did not ask about whether or not they had the parts to start assembly or not.

I believe they lack the necessary fabrication technology, it is 3-D printed metal of which North America is a technology leader in a nascent field.

GH is using Direct Metal Laser Sintering, and the tech is available in China. I suspect that the patented heater is being manufactured in the US to deter counterfeiting.

That makes sense. The 30 per week still troubles me but obviously they must be expecting more than that based on their estimated ship dates.

I emailed him earlier this morning.
I look forward to hearing the response.

The heater/exchanger also troubles me the most. I was ready to pre-order but after hearing this update I'm going to wait to see what transpires. The fact that their cost for the heater is probably upwards of $20(wild guess but if they were told $40 for the pre-revised model) each on a $135 vape is very troubling.

How have they not nailed down the design/pricing of the heater by this point? One of the most critical components and one that does not scale for mass production as well as other components.

Sadly I can't see them making it as a company with the minute margins they must plan on working off, that or I can easily see this becoming a $200+ for the base model.

30 heaters per week, even if they manage to somehow get 3x that or 4 times that per week....it will be many months till they can meet backers let alone pre-orders. Maybe the heater manufacturer agreed to buy some extra equipment?
