Trying to get up off the couch
Electricity has always been a weak spot for me. I am shopping for a kit on the DT website and am having trouble making sense of the following statement.

This atomizer is .7 - .8ohms.4.2v and 9watts is the sweet setting ---Don't go over 11watts or it will taste gross.

If there is 4.2V with .8 ohms resistance isn't that 17.6/.8 = 22 watts?

Your electrical math does not look weak to me... Typo? 11 is pretty close on the keyboard to 22... Medication a possible factor?

I don't know if anyone thought of this.. it seems very basic but what about a quartz plate sitting directly on top of a ceramic plate or a pancake coil.

Would that provide enough heat to heat up the quartz plate allowing us to essentially hit it like a nail? No worries about any dripping or flooding or clogging and we get the smooth and clean taste of quartz.

Would like to know what kind of box mod I can get that will fire this. I want to use it for both my donut atomizer (1.5 ohm) and e cig atomizers. My istick shows no resistance neither does my multimeter. On my Mech Mod it only puts 11 watts through the 1.5 ohm ceramic donut which is underwhelming and takes a long time to get a small hit. What box mods am I safe with? With a siegeli work?

@bearpants siegeli makes both a 100w and 150w box mod. Although, imho, 100w is already more then enough. I recently bought a ipv3 150w box mod thinking it'll be the bees knees, and I never go above 60-70w, and even then I usually stay around 25-40w.

100W will be plenty enough for my needs. Ejuice and other things. Point saying is this atomizer (while 510) won't give off an ohm reading. (not with a multimeter or 510 ohm checker) But is in fact a 1.5 ceramic donut. So if it's a mod that says "no atomizer" and won't fire if no resistance is read. Then that wouldn't work out for me. It has to be like a mech mod where it will fire without any given ohm reading (obviously) but with a box mod I can select 15 watts and glow the donut properly.

Hello, Newbie here, found this thread yesterday and I am also a bit new to vaporizers. I started with a dab OTG a month or so ago(I like it but it gets dirty), then I was talked into an Atomos bullet2go( meh so/so kinda weak). then I found DT's website 3 days ago and bought the robox and ceramic donut setup. It was delivered yesterday and I am not having the best of luck with the ceramic atty so far with it at 4.2v and 9w. It taists great but not much smoke for the dab sizes?

I started just dripping small dabs and it seems to splatter the oil out and up to the sides with small hits. This atty seems to be very hungry. I read in here somewhere about crushing up a old ceramic atty and putting the chips into the atty as a "wick" to try and keep the splashing down. Any luck with this??? I am running low on meds so I don't want to experiment too much but would be interested in what others have found as their "best" results with this ceramic atty?

My goals are clean but fast hits. So far the robox with an .8 ohm wide cup with duel ceramic rods (ebay) @ 3.6v and 5w inside the Dab OTG globe work best for the quick 5 second pulls.

I Can't wait to try that all ceramic atty 30w rig on the last page back. Never thought these would replace my oil rig with 90' skillet but it is getting close imo. Great work Matt and thanks for super fast shipping..

Edit: I use BHO, Co2, and some booze extract which is not like shatter

Also, anyone have any info on the "safe" ranges/watts/volts for this and other duel coil attys?

hey folks
been too long since i have been on here
you can see I released the V2,
IT's just ok i don't like the depth of the bowl, it's too shallow and needs to be deeper. It hits clean but it is messy, I also only recommend small dabs at a time, for flavor and to help make the atomizer work better. I just want to add that I was only able to help in this design of the version 2 I was not able to get it exactly the way I want it.
Therefore of version 3 is coming, it's going to have a bigger surface space with the new ceramic plate that's bigger, and the airflow is not going to be an issue. I do not like to suck out of straws. Vaporizer pans should be easier to hit. Other than that I still use my version 2 donut when I cannot use my e-nail. The airflow is a really big deal to me and something I'm working hard on. My supplier assured me that we can get molds done faster, so our ideas will be produced quicker. It seems like it took forever to get the all ceramic version 2 donut released. I had them put doughnuts in the micro skillet and the glass globe coils, and they work pretty well, need to make an ad for those but I do have them in stock. The airflow is an issue on those coils. And I'm working on a new ceramic cup that will allow more airflow in. I am now selling the ceramic doughnuts by themselves if anyone wants to play around and drop them in their own RDA.

One more thing, I like to pulse hit the donut. That means that I like to set it at 15 W and press the button for one second and let go and then press the button for one second and let go I do this about 5 to 10 times as and taking my hit. By doing this it seems to give me bigger clouds.

I am a huge critic of all vaporizers including my own ... If you can not be blunt then most will not listen,.. I knew this would not help my sales but my company and parts seem to be like most others...Work in progress,,

as far as the atomizers go

...it feels like we are in the iphone 1 and 2 stage (as far as what i think a pen should do) i do use the V2 when i can't use my enail. and for low price i feel you get every penny of your investment. these parts need to evolve still. but if you have any ideas or can show me a pen out there that can give clean hits like this one, i would adapt and steer toward a different technology.
honesty is the only way my company will grow, if i say this thing is great and hits better than a enail and it really does not.. then you will never trust me when i say something is great.. At least you know someone is always working on getting a better atomizer to the market that can produce huge clouds and clean hits. Everything changes and gets better, cars, computers, phones. the v2 is not the end all.
my mind is on the v3 now. I felt like my manufacture did not allow enough of my input on the v2,, but again i use the v2 pretty much daily cause it is my best atomizer .

@Breathemetal the Persei was designed for atomizers 1 ohm and above. I could be wrong, THC Scientific or samurisam can confirm this.

@mixchu69 You might want to check if Joytech ego twist batteries can handle sub ohm atomizers. My DT Donut doesn't get that hot on the exterior with a Robox.

DT's Donuts v1/v2 are .8 ohm, unless specified at check out (I believe a 1.5 ohm is available).

Thank you Matt @divinetribe , I have always appreciated your honesty. I have a DT Donut v2 right now. The taste is amazing! 4.2v 10w, pulling slow with a constant press on the button delivers satisfactory clouds.

received my v2 ceramic tank. I'm actually pleased with it. You do get very small clouds, however phenomenal taste and a good throat rip and effect. May look into that v3 when it comes out =P. all and all, id say get one if you have a mech mod and want to just switch attys really quick while driving or something.

hi all pull out your glass globes they are coming back , see this proto, the finished product in jan will have a ceramic housing instead of a metal housing that you see in the video also check this build, i want the same thing but instead of the metal i want it to be ceramic threaded cups
Any plans on adding a black ceramic wick, as seen in the 1701 video, for the v3 ceramic donut atty?

not planning on it unless it can be charged and be capable of getting red hot.

divinetribe,
So I bought a v2 through the site last week. My only confirmation was PayPal informing me that my payment went through. I have received no shipping notice or order conf from Matt. Is this normal? How long does it take for stuff to finish the handling phase and move to shipping. Is there no conf, because there's no tracking? I just feel a little in the dark...

a week or so after owning the v2 it does have some airflow issues. I feel as if it gets clogged or something idk.
