@VaporWizard I have the exact same issue as you! If I let the Herbie run for a while with the fan though, it returns back to what I would describe as a "hot air smell". My best guess right now is that the smell is hair getting burnt.

Try burning a hair? Is the same smell produced?

A couple questions that I'm sure were covered here but now I forget where the answers are...
I'm used to a heat up routine with my EQ that included glass heat up and a 10-15 minute bud heat up before drawing. Anybody ever let the bud sit in the herbie bowl for any amount of time before drawing?
Also any issues with using cotton in the herbie bowl? I reclaim from the EQ with a cotton ball.

Cotton is fine to use. You can let your herb preheat but you may lose a little as the heater puffs air to maintain temp.

You'll get quicker results by heating up the herb with your first hit. And cotton/hemp fiber soaked filters work very well in Herbie's bowl

Recently also purchased an Herbalizer. I have both a Firefly and Pax, i can say I am very happy with my purchase. Unfortunately within only a month of minor use the bags seemed to leak while inflating. Does this happen to any of you guys as well? I can see the vape exiting, other than that I love this vape. I usually mount a water attachment and it works like a charm!

My patience may be lacking due to the excitement, but after placing my order late Friday night I expected my order to ship today. Order status still says being processed. Disappointing lol gives me more time to read thru 236 pages tho

This is a known issue. The bags wear out after some time. Supposedly those bags are being redesigned but I have not heard any update on that in months.

It helps prolong the bag if you are very careful with how you handle the plastic bag material right as it connects to the valve. Whenever I let my bag fill I keep re positioning it as it fills to reduce stress on that connection. If you just let it fill on its own and that material gets bent around a lot at the valve connection it tends to rip sooner and lead to leaks.

Does anyone know a site that sells decent bags that work work with Herbie ? I hate knowing some of my medicine is leaking out and not going in my lungs. And I suck at making them I've tried many times. Lol

Looks like different packaging at least. Maybe shoot Herbalizer support an email.

They claim not a wisp of vapor is wasted aka no leaks.

"The Herbalizer’s SqueezeValve balloon system is simplicity defined. Squeeze, attach, and fill with pure, flavorful vapor. When you aren’t squeezing it, the valve seals in the vapor so you never loose a wisp. It is made of medical-grade silicone, feels smooth, and is quiet – no loud crinkly noises."

Also be careful when replacing your own bags as most oven/tirkey bags are only rated to 400°F

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right
PuffItUp sells bags called Vapebags. http://www.puffitup.com/Vape-Bags-p/vapebags.htm
They are formed at the bottom to be a smaller diameter opening. I use the Volcano hard valve and there is significant less plastic to deal with. I think the problems getting the plastic bag formed over the mouthpiece are the source of most leaks and by having much less plastic to deal with at the opening helps a lot. Also since there is less plastic you can move it around to help seal any leaks.

:peace:

I love using Volcano bags on my herbie. I love squeeze valve though when I want to do bags through a water tool. That is hands down my favorite way to Vape but is a bit of work.

Hey everyone, I own a volcano and I love it, a friend come over last night and brought his herbie! I couldn't believe how fast it heated up, awesome, we then done a few experiments! We both have the solid valve for the volcano and both had the same erb, set both to 190c and proceeded to fill our bags :rockon:We shared bags and I couldn't believe how much better the Herbie was! Really noticeable. I had a another bag on my volcano at 190c then went up to 195c and had one more! The taste by then has diminished a fare bit, so we stuck my bowl on the Herbie, Wow I could not believe how much fresher it tasted still!
How the Fuck does it do it? Gob smacked! Hope this all makes sense?! :hmm:

Eh I'm not big on putting components from other vapes onto Herbie. Although it looks like Herbie bags are back in stock ?

Someone had the plastic around the heater port deform when using something other than the Herbie bowl. I believe.

Does anyone have solid instructions or video for replacing the herbie bags with the included sqweeze valve? I had one leaky bag, and when i took it appart to fix it was as bad as before or worse. There may be a small leak, but i am seeking the proper way to add a new bag. Thanks.

I have found that you don't need the high heat orange tape. I can reconstruct them without it. No leaks noted.

I have had Herbie for a couple of months now and wanted to join the discussion as you all were instrumental in me finally deciding to click "BUY". Herbie is my new best friend and I find new ways to utilize him each day.

I also wanted to mention that I was missing my DeFunk Oil from the original package but Carrie and Carissa from Herbalizer were quick to reply and took care of me on some screens/pads at that same time. I know service might have struggled early but I think they are on top to things now. At least that was my lone experience with customer service. Now for Herbie experiences so far...

I first started by blowing up bags constantly until I killed the first bag in one week (sticky wax caused the most issues due to bag sticking together). The bags are not the "best" but I do not have quite the disdain for them as some others have expressed. I have successfully fixed leaks on my own bags by cutting off the leaking area and re-wrapping/ re-stuffing the bag in the valve. I have also replaced the bags with some cheaper ones online that I like and "do the job" (can post link if it is ok).

Once I had blown through bags for a week or so I began messing around with the whip and got pretty good results but still wanted something smoother. I feel personally I would enjoy a larger whip tube like some others have mentioned but decided to step up to a water tube.

Got the water tube about 3 weeks into my Herbie use and I have rarely used anything else unless someone is joining in that is not comfortable with the tube. I ended up with the @Ratchett adapter then purchased the Pinnacle water tube using the rewards points I accumulated buying Herbie. This setup has really grown on me. I typically start at 390ish and work it all the way thru to 445. The bulk of the production comes between 400-420 for me as I can get 10+ long pulls in that range typically. I usually practice a long continual draw and pull the bowl off to clear with each pull. That may not be necessary but I feel it lets me truly clear the chamber and keeps the bowl from sitting on Herbie and staying hot or losing any wisp of vapor.:D

Since I had such great experiences with the Pinnacle I have decided on a setup based off of @lazylightning and purchased the Oregon adapters with a DHGate Matrix Sidecar V2. I am so freaking excited to try this setup because I love my water tube and can only imagine this being even better.

So now that I have written a book on my experience I will give it a break but interject with some tricks/tips I have found in another post later. I do want to mention that I have also been turned on to some high CBD oils and nectar that may be a game changer for me. I can use this CBD in the herbie and either enjoy a totally clean, pain free feeling (great for the work day), or I can top off the flower with some oil to enhance the vapor production and overall effect. I also find that mixing in a CBD component has helped me reduce the amount of flower I use even on top of the conservation I was seeing from Herbie usage.

Look forward to being an ongoing part of FC and all the Herbie folks. Feel like I already know some of you because of how much I have been lurking but wanted to say Thanks to all for being such great resources for info and ideas!
