Except that I was careful to pack and turn them on myself, because my anal self is like that (and I'm the only one in our circle that only vapes as opposed to combustion). No reason to mess with 'em.

That's great! I always have to take a backup vape in case my Solo dies. Wich happens more than I like...

Never was able to get good enough efficiency or flavor to make it worth using while still getting clouds that were satisfying. Log and butane vaporizes ended up being the right choice for me.
There is no vaporizer out there that is right for everyone though. That is the best part of there being so many vaporizers on the market these days.

I recently sold a spare portable to my brother in law-his 1st vape. My wife told me he was thrilled with vaping and through with smoking. He liked the effect, no smoke to deal with, either in his lungs or in the air, and has seen more efficient use of his herb supply. It's always a good feeling when you can help turn someone from smoker to vaporist.
Could have easily been done accidentally. I do that to myself from time to time.
Isn't the dexterity required to turn the beeps off pretty much the same dexterity it takes to turn the thing on and adjust the setting? That, at least, has been my experience.

At home I always have a Solo ready to go. One is charging while the other is in use. Very easy to practice good battery charging practices this way as well. I rarely run the Solo battery down to when the charge light comes on and so far have never charged all the way to the top.
On the road there is the car charger and extra battery pack; the kind people charge laptops with.
The Solo has decent battery run time, which is why I have held back on getting the Air until the price comes down a bit more.

I do similar what @Dr. Soxhlet does, I have one Solo on the charge while using the other. My battery on both units are still doing really well. I still get about 7 - twelve minute sessions with the two 2014 models that I have. They are both around a year old. I've been trying to be careful but I've accidentally left it on the charge over night. Too medicated before bed I guess. Alternating them helps to save on wear.
The car charger has come in handy at times when I've been away from home, but also good in case of a power outage. I received a couple vortex stems in the mail on Friday from Planetvape along with some caps. They weren't suppose to get here until Monday. Both came free of any blemishes or cracks. I've always had awesome customer service.

I have carpal tunnel, pretty severely, along with arthritis. I can't hit the buttons at the speed required to stop the beeping, but turning it on/setting the temp is easy enough and I can adjust if necessary. Not the biggest irritation, but irritating all the same, because the beeping makes me a bit nutty.
Anyway- I managed to break the new beaker I picked up less than a month ago. I replaced it with a bong from the LHS that pairs just right with Planet Vapes GonG. Plus, I have two bubblers on the way from DH Gate, with tree percs and the molded mouthpieces- super excited for that! I might have a small case of GAS- send help, or donations for more.

My problem is I don't hear high pitch sounds, so I don't notice when the beep is on. This can interfere with an attempt to be "stealthy".
I should add to my previous post, that the reason I never charge all the way to the top is that the Solo is on a timer.

Correct me if I'm wrong but you don't have the speed required to turn off the beeping? Isn't just pressing the UP button for 4 seconds enough? What is roughly the same as putting the device on, with the only difference that you push in the middle of UP and DOWN...
So here you go, let's stop that nutty feeling!
Edit: sorry thought this was the Air thread... Still, just push the UP or DOWN button couple of second and problem solved.

While you're right that 'all you have to do is.....' I think you're failing to understand that for some of us with physical problems doing what you do without a second thought can be a serious problem. This is quite natural, of course, not to understand that. I hope you never experience it first hand, but please understand that the OP no doubt was relating the issue accurately 'from her side' or she would not have brought it up?
For some such limitations are a sad fact of life to be faced and dealt with, for others the problems (thankfully) 'come and go'.
The simplest things for most of us are impossible (or nearly so) for some less fortunate. A sad fact of life often not helped by 'helpful suggestions'. Understanding and support are the best we can do I think.

It just came in the mail! After doing a short burn-off, I then hit my first bowl (a small one where I stepped up through the temps quickly just to get an idea) and am feeling very good right now.
Got a few questions:
1) After finishing, I then rinsed out my stem and shook some water around in it. However, I'm having trouble figuring out how to dry it, especially because it doesn't seem like it will dry out quickly on its own.

Congrats on the Solo, great unit as you're finding out.
Don't rinse the tube, the deposits need solvent/soap to remove (like grease on pots and pans), it won't rinse off. When you do wash them out, dry them out with heat. I, like most guys, started with ISO and salt but then started using Powered Brewery Wash instead. In either case, rinse with water well, shake it out, and put it in a warm place (I use the top of my router).

I can't agree with 'all' (I haven't tried them all.....yet), but Solo is top of my 'recommend to new guys to consider' list. IMO pretty hard to go wrong there.
On the matter of deception and wild claims, think how dull it would be without all the smoke and mirrors?

My solo was supposed to be here today according to USPS tracking... It still says expected delivery date March 31. Somehow I don't think it's going to show up in the next half hour. 
Hopefully tomorrow brings better luck... I'm so impatient to try it out. Reading the last 30 or so pages of this thread helped to pass the time, but just ended up making me even more impatient lol. I'm so glad I'm finally jumping on the solo bandwagon! I was eyeballing them for a little while now, but the price was always a little too steep for my broke ass. Snagged one on the classifieds (happened to check literally like 2 minutes after it was posted, it was an impulse buy lol -- I knew it wouldn't last long on there at the sub-$100 price point), I don't think I'll regret it
