I could be wrong, but I think though that the average salt spoon is wider than the GH herb chamber opening. Also the shape of the edge of the average salt or teaspoon isn't the most ergonomic...which is why there is talk of creating a custom/better/more ergonomic filling tool.

I've used one for my pax and FF and it works great. I don't know if it's too wide for GH. I use it more for loading than for stirring. To stir, I use a protopipe poker. I've seen different shape salt spoons on ebay

And I have some questions for Buzz while he's testing the GH:

Are you using the SS or TI?
How does the flavor compare to the FF? 1st pull and after?
How does the oven size compare to the FF?
How is maintenance?

Thx!!!

He has a SS. No Ti seen yet
He loves FF and its flavor, easily rated it higher already and I imagine still does in every way.

Oven size has been discussed as well, seems similar really, in that it can hold very little, or as much as .3g if you pack it.

For maintenance, have to scrape mouthpiece screen for clogs, but they have a newer screen supposed to better, and can be dropped in iso to clean. He hasn't had to clean chamber much, just using iso damp qtip (though front end can be soaked too)

I'm too new to this so my search skills (and ways around this site) still suck. But I have read this whole thread (just not today) and read Buzz's review. I'm so tempted to order a GH...but I don't want to make another mistake. I do love my FF even though I have a couple minor issues with it. Thanks for the info! I guess I'm waiting to hear more about Pax 2 1st (to see if my issues with that one have been resolved). I think it's between those 2 as a 2nd go-to.

I think a lot of people are struggling with the same decisions you are. You might want to consider making that your own first thread in the Ask FC section, there may already be some of that going on in there that you might find helpful. :)

Backers are VERY close to receiving their units (<30 days). Just hang tight and we'll be flooded with reviews soon enough :-)

I'm more interested in reviews from non-pre orders, people like me with no stake in its success or failure. Pre-orders = hopefulness = potential disappointment. Give me a review by a cantankerous FCer any day, warts and all.

eh with it being a new product I would say that applies to any1 who buys one at this point really. In fact I'm sure most backers have less in it than pre-orders since (If I'm correct) the price went up once it became available for pre-orders after indiegogo.

But it's so hard to wait!!! And I'm afraid if I decide on the GH and wait, they'll be flooded with orders and I won't get mine till x-mas. My 3 Pax2 concerns are maintenance, is it still basically a session vape, and oven size.

I'm hoping the pax 2 hits the stores this week so I can at least touch it before I pull the trigger on one of these. But I'm really leaning towards the GH.

I don't care about the reviews after the first week. Of course the GH will be "awesome" and everyone (myself included) will probably rant and rave over it like a fanboy when it first comes out. Assuming it actually performs like the videos.

What I really care about is what happens after 6-12months of HEAVY use. Will the GH require religious cleaning to ensure proper function like the Pax1? Or will it be a reliable beast that keeps going like the Solo? Will the oven suddenly stop heating after 30 days like many of the 1AA1 Davinci Ascent Models?

Time will tell how solid this vaporizer is. I hope to god it's a fucking tank that you can throw at the wall and keep vaping. But if it's a dud, I won't be too upset about losing $150 to be part of the early adopter rush. Watching this thread is exciting now that I've preordered.

I keep wondering when we'll see the first "MINE SHIPPED!!!!" announcement. Anyone wanna do a cash bet on the specific date?:brow:

I am sure I am enjoying the anticipation of it much more than I will enjoy actually having it (happens a lot to me). If not, bonus!

I've been waiting to see the MINE SHIPPED news this week. Too optimistic? I'm not a betting man but am hopeful for the early adopters

I think you may be overestimating interest in the GH. Yes, the people who frequent this forum are dying with anticipation but this isn't a new iphone. This is a very specific niche product.

There are 0 GH built today. (Except yours @BuzzDanklin... So jealous btw). They have promised to ship the 1000+ Preorder and backer units by May. Most people who are REALLY interested in the GH have placed their orders by now and the "Ship by May 2015" still stands on GH.com. I would only be worried if that changed to June.

At this point you've been waiting 1 year or more. What's another month?

Never has the quote "Patience, Grasshopper" been more relevant. :-)

I agree with @Ratchett said above, it's really if this vaporizer can hold up over time. With a lifetime warranty that makes me feel more confident. Not many vaporizers with that kind of warranty. I know of the MFLB, they're maybe others.

fair enough though I wouldn't be surprised if after the first batch comes out and reviews start popping up it'll get bigger. Im sure there are plenty of people out there that would love the GH but never heard about it so videos popping up may change that... granted will it be enough to cause a big delay later on? who knows but it's possible

as for religious cleaning... even if it does need decent cleaning often I don't think it'd be too huge seeing as it doesnt look too difficult or time consuming to clean

You're right, of course, but if there are major problems, or even typical first-gen "holy shit we never thought of that" issues, it won't take six months. More like 60 days. Just ask every FC thread ever. :p
