I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too
So just wanted to create this poll to see how long people have been exclusively vaporizing for.

Please feel free to explain the reasons you stopped combusting and the health benefits gained.

I know there is a poll about who has fucked combustion, this is to see who is the person to have fucked combustion the longest and give a insight as to the health benefits gained by vaping.

I quit combustion 2 years ago after 20 years of tobacco filed spliffs, with the specific aim of avoiding COPD which has a history in my family.

10 years smoking cannabis, never smoked tobacco. Friend introduced me to his Pax in early 2014. The technology blew me away. Being a gadget geek, I *had* to own a portable vape. A month after that I bought a Davinci Ascent. Used it for two weeks straight (loving the experience and flavor). Then I decided to try my old combustion habbit (thinking nothing of it). Only to discover how hideous it smelled and tasted!

After I realized how horrible the taste/experience was, I decided to go back to Vaporizing. It was a VERY easy transition for me. Thankfully I had no real medical reasons to fuck combustion, but I can certainly feel the effects of fucking combustion forever!

Over the falls, in a barrel
Back in Oct '12 I decided I want to look into these fabled vaporizers more, not necessarily thinking that completely replacing smoking was possible. My searches soon led me to FC, where I learned to call smoking "combustion", that vaporizing exclusively was feasible and something of a lifestyle choice, and that a quality vape could be had for less then $200.

A few weeks later my Magic-Flight kit came in, and within 24 hours I was handing over my pipe and related tools to my roommate as gifts!

He happily accepted those gifts, but it wasn't long before he understood he was being left behind. :D He ended up with a launch box of his own a few months later.

For the world is hollow and I have touched the sky
I've been vaporizing for a few months now, after smoking the herb and cigarettes for around 5+ years. I quit the cigarettes at the same time with the help of an e-cig. I decided to fuck combustion because I had started to develop a daily smoker's cough that would produce mucus that was tinged with brown/black flecks from all the tar I was dumping in my lungs. That pretty much just completely turned me off to combustion, so I went out and bought an e-cigarette and a vaporizer right away.

Since then, my daily cough has completely went away. When I do still cough up mucus (infrequently now), there's still a little bit of gunk in it but it has lessened greatly. I imagine it will just take some time for my body to clear out all the crap from years of combustion abuse.

My lungs feel better now than they have in a long time, and my asthma doesn't flare up as often or as bad as when I was combusting. I did light up a bowl once since quitting, it was in a social setting and I didn't have my vape with me... It tasted horrible! It just reaffirmed my decision to fuck combustion!

Vapor Sloth
I smoked all kinds of weed back in college in the 80's and had to stop because of industry drug testing when I entered the the car biz full time at dealerships that didn't belong to my family. Once I started to vape medically, I think it was almost 4 years ago, I have refused combustion, period. The only time it happened my brother talked me into hitting his pipe and I instantly regretted it. Tasted like shit . . .

i started smoking joints in 1969. i stopped about a year and 1/2 ago and only vape with my balloon extreme Q now. i still have pipes and papers and bongs. i should probably toss them as i'm not going back unless my Q breaks.

i smoked tobacco on and off for 30 years. a couple of years ago i bought an E-cig and haven't had a cig or a desire for one since.

i bought my first tabletop vape in 1999. it had test tubes that would heat up and you'd put in a hose to inhale. very primitive. i hardly used it. although i'm a big fan of vaping with a balloon, i'm not a fan of using a whip. i have a da buddha and although it gave good hits, doing 3 grams a day was too hot on my throat and lungs and hooking it up to a bong just wasn't good enough . and i was using more pot per day not less. the bag fixed all of that. i'm down to .75 gram per day from 3 when i was smoking or vaping with the da buddha. i'm a happy boy.

my lungs are better off not smoking and as an ex respiratory therapist, i know of what i speak!

Arizer Air Aficionado
Started smoking cigarettes and joints filled with tobacco around 6 years ago.

1.5 years ago I decided to quit the fags and stopped cold turkey.

When I reached the year mark cigarette free, I realised I hated tobacco, and the fact I used it in my joints (although in minimal amounts) annoyed me greatly.

So I bought an Arizer Air, and haven't looked back since. Not a single puff of combusted crap has entered my lungs for 5 months today! :D

The fact many of you have tried combustion again and hated it really intrigues me. I can't imagine hating a joint as I loved them so dearly lol.

FUCKCOMBUSTION!

 Thanks for sharing.

Be prepared for joints to taste like burnt bbq, I tried a pure weed spliff laced with oil and hash in Amsterdam about a year into vaping, it was the first night there and I had no vape. I took one puff and I gave it away.

I had the exact same epiphany about the tobacco as you and it spurred me on to go vape only with the iOlite.

Started combusting junior/senior year in high school. Cigs and blunts.
I'm in college now studying music, and started singing opera a little over a year ago.
So I had to stop smoking (smokers cough and opera doesnt work, lol).
Haven't combusted in 15 months and my breathing and breath control for singing has never been better.
FUCK COMBUSTION!

I only started last November. I know I'm not going back to smoking, and I used to love smoking. These devices are fucking amazing. Just don't let anyone tell you you're going to save money cos you bloody well aren't, VAS is a bitch.

Only since Nov??? You doing good on the vapes. (can see in your sig)

Have you tried a butane powered one?

12 hours. I combusted with the lsv last night on accident before I realized my herb had dried out.
:puke:

That doesn't count. You're good mate.

Sick & Twisted
It's been a little over a year for me.
Last April 2014 spent 28 day's in hospital, couldn't wait to get home and smoke a phatty.
Got home twisted, combusted, felt good for a min. or two. Then all the carcinogens kicked in and I felt like shit no more of that two days home back in hospital 7 more days congestive heart failure.
Got out made shatter all I had was persei vapes shatter all week no ill side affects. Ordered solo with a side order of VAS and its all down hill from there.
At social gatherings I try to be social. My wife caught me fake hitting a joint it was funny.
You just feel bad saying no,I'll always offer a vape though...

Five years no cigs cold turkey after a pack a day for twenty years....

3/4 years for me :)

I'd have to look back through my post history to figure out how long exactly, but I got my SSV around eater time 3/4 years ago, and haven't combusted intentionally since...

I didn't switch for health reasons in particular, or to try to lower my usage, it was just a cool toy I wanted to try.

Then I found its just such a superior experience in taste, potency, and comfort that I had no reason to go back to smoking.

When I tried my only cone after going vape only it tasted like absolute shit, felt extremely burn-y in my lungs, the high felt dirtier, and the almost toxic taste seemed to linger in my mouth/lungs...

Yeah, I'm vape exclusive now, I'd rather not get high than smoke...

I started smoking 48 years ago and have pretty much used daily since then. I started vaping 6 years ago. I've had one occasion, rather recently, where I smoked a joint with my son at a party... first hit was awful, but I soldiered through it and sort of enjoyed the old joint hanging off the lip thing for a bit... my friends couldn't believe their eyes, lol. I've been a vapor zealot for a while now.

Next day I thought my lungs were going to self implode. Never again! Not only did it taste like shit, the negative effects on my breathing were enough that I would never do it again.

The whole reason I started vaping was because I had developed a cough that was significant enough that people commented on it. I would cough when I laughed... and sounded like someone who had smoked cigarettes and drank whiskey their whole lives. I was coughing up yucky stuff...

One week into vaping exclusively, the cough went away and the lungs cleared.

Just a note... while we will probably find that @lwien has vaped longest, he also has the fine distinction of being the one who vapes the least. We should get him a plaque...

- Started combusting in 2007
- Tried my first vape the week I graduated in 2009, an old box vape. Don't even think Vapor Bro's some chinese knock off. Loved how high I got off it, loved the tech. Only knew of one person with a vaporizer though, obviously didn't use too much.
- Got a Chinese Box vape freshman year of college to help conserve. Vaped pretty exclusively for the 2 months it worked.
- Got a MFLB summer going into my sophmore year of uni. I vaped exclusively at the beach with my family and vaped often in college with it, but it was hardly exclusive and I stopped after sophmore year as the batteries died.
- Combusted exclusively from 2010-2014, didn't know anyone with a vape.
- Roomate got a Pinnacle Blunt in August-September 2014, I liked it and it got me thinking about vaporizers, it died literally a month later. Around this time, I almost went to my LHS to get a Grenco G-Pen LOL.
- Didn't get the pen, got high one night, and spent like 3 hours comparing the PAX and the Firefly, got the Firefly right before Thanksgiving 2014.

Vaped almost exclusively since then. When I'm home, I vape. Only smoked on NY Day as everyone else was smoking and I didn't have something quick to use. Smoked a bowl of AVB a few months back when I was out of stash.

Smoked cigs from 2008 to January of 2015 with like a 2 month break at the top of 2014. Been cig free since Jan 21st 2015, though I had one in May at my grandparents anniversary party when I was really drunk, but it was only one and I don't really care, I've curbed the addiction aspect.
