So I gave my Mighty a blast on 175 last night and just upped the temperature a couple of degrees after every toak, worked fine and I see what you mean about the better flavour, plus by hitting then turning up a degree or two after each hit you stop the machine turning itself off!

There does not seem to be a wrong way to use this device.

Last night I did a fine grind on some nice herb, packed the bowl, tamped it down firm, then started a long slow session. I started at 340F (171c) I went very slow and the mighty shut off numerous times. I vaped 85% of the bowl under 380F (193). It lasted about 30 minutes, as i went minutes between hits, it tasted really nice, and got me nicely ripped. It did have some draw restrictions due to the grind and packing the bowl tight, but it was a very enjoyable session.

Then this morning for an (red and squinty) eye opener. I loaded a half bowl loosely, started and finished at 380f (193) in about 6 big hits. The great taste went quick, but the vapors stayed cool, and I never coughed. It took maybe 4-5 minutes and was a great way to start to a Sunday.

Every way I've tried using this vape works, and works well.

I am a little confused by the cut screen thing.

Today I only had enough left in a travel jar to pack one half bowl densely. I recalled suggestikns about cut screens for partial bowls but didn't remember what hey were.

Since I could not remember I just packed the bowl really, really tightly. But it pushed very huge clouds between 188 and 192! Is adding a screen necessary or make performance that much better?

I am taking many consecutive giant hits but even so vapor pours out of the mouthpiece when I do not hit it!

Just need to figure out if I want a mighty or a crafty

How important is it to fit nicely in your pocket? If its important then get the Crafty. The Mighty feels like carrying a pack of ramen noodles in your pocket, but it has double the battery life, faster heatup, better passthrough charging, and it seems to hold heat better for fast draws or in cold temps.

I use the screen to hold partial bowls in place. I doubt they have much effect on taste or anything else, other than using a screen might keep your cooling unit cleaner.

Where are you guys getting your units?

I purchased direct from S&B. Free overnight shipping.

Some people don't like packing bowls down a lot, or will prefer less unpacked material (less material total compared to packed half-loads), so they will load the bowl, and then place the screen on top of the flowers. So it goes screen at the bottom of the bowl that is always there, herb, then screen over it. It helps keep the herbs down towards the bottom where the heat is generated, keeping it closer to the heating element and not flying up to the top.

@Caligula, you want the Mighty. More battery, can change temps without extra electronics. Sure it's a bit bigger but that's more battery power

Have you read both threads?

Neither one are super stealthy IMHO. The battery thing is the biggest difference. I'm using my herb legally and medically so for me stealth was not a big concern. Portability was, and not being tethered to a electric cord.

The crafty is smaller, and for this it's sometimes rated higher. But with both, you still want some herb, and the loader, so a small case is ideal for a night out. For one quick pre loaded session either works.

I have the crafty and I love it!!!! The size is a huge plus for me when I'm riding in my car and the battery never seems to be an issue because I charge it right after use be it in the house or the car if I'm out and about. I usually vape until I reach my destination, throw it on the charger, and by the time I come back out from wherever I went my crafty is reenergized and ready to go. I don't know if I'm killing the battery but when it gets hot I hold it out my sunroof for about 5 minutes while I drive down the highway which cools it down and let's me continue longer sessions with guests. My crafty put down me and 4 other people today, I don't know what more you would seek out of a portable. With all this being said, I still would not mind having a mighty more so for home use

While trying to clean the screen I pushed a little too hard and indented it inwards. I was worried it would decrease airflow. How do I get in there and push it back where it should be? Found a ton of resin in there though. Just confused how to get the top part open.

Open the app and select the information tab. Then tap "Instructions for Use" and skip ahead to page 23.

:peace:

Edit: oops, I forgot this was the Mighty thread. I am not a smart man.

Anyway, it's' on page 23 of the manual for the Crafty, and I'm sure it's somewhere similar for the Mighty instructions.

When you have removed the mouth piece, and split the cooling unit into two pieces, I push the screen out with a q-tip, from the inside cavity of the cooling unit. I used a high proof alcohol, the brush that comes with the mighty, and some q-tips.

I removed the bottom screen today and used a small sharp pick to get it out. I noticed some restrictions shortly after a few bowls of hash/kief. It was the bottom screen, it was dirty and there was something like dust under the screen. With the screen removed, I held it upside down and used the wet, with alcohol, brush. Then I dried it with a paper towel, put it back together, and it looks like new.

What country are you located in? It is really next day? Seems as though PIU is sold out of them.

Been wondering why my brown ABVs don't produce vapor on 210°C, key is to actually pull for some several ~10sec inhales until you feel the vapor in your throat.

Another thing I realized, you can put the oil pad into the side of the filling aid for transport.

When I first got my Mighty, I did a thing I never could on my solo or classic volcano; Heat it up as low as possible. As I actually realized, the vapor starts between 156 and 157°C.

Try packing a full bowl at 157°C and see how long it takes for the vapor to diminish. It takes ages. If you want to save weed after some days of not toking, this is a superb procedure.

Another fun way on parties would be to give people the mighty and tell em to +1 the temperature before giving it to the next guy.

I feel that the batteries last a shitload if you stay under the 200°C Barrier (especially 207°C+).
So if you are in town you want to produce some more ABV and reload more often and vice versa kill your ABV when you are on cable.

The mighty actually is a killer and I used 3x the amount of weed in the last two weeks than I have used with my solo over the last years. Now I am fking broke. Thanks Mighty. the 350€ + weed was too expensive but I can't sell that thingie. Unless it goes south I am keeping it..

Mine is super old #27xx btw, the headshop doesn't sell that much of theirs. Got it 2 weeks ago

S&B rocks. the case of my crafty broke after 4 month near the cu, happend last tuesday. i called s&b directly and sent crafty to them at the same day with a really nice fanboy letter by me. also asked for upgrading to mighty. thursday they called me back. btw really nice talk on phone or by mail everytime. s&b takes care of you... upgrading to mighty for 50€ appreciated and they felt very sorry for the broken crafty. they told me they are still in some kind of testing phase with their units which is ok for a new product on the market imo. got the mighty today and as gift the volcano 3d sticker + a extra set of those light blue rings. mighty serial is #12xxx

I had the same good experience when I sent in a mighty for 50 euro but this new one has started to develop cracks on the two most top cooling fins the really micro thin ones like my old one did before I finished it off by dropping it , now I am not sure if I should contact them again because I do believe this will become a problem for them if it is not already behind scenes..............

The plastic around heating chamber (top two cooling fins) is not made to last imo especially with everyday use, i am on my second one that has cracked in exact same place and i did not even take this one out the house :) , as much as i love the vapor from this unit and i will still use it unless i can sort something out with s&b i would not buy another until they revise the housing a little i think ....

I emailed s&b begging them to release a WPA for the mighty/crafty but they said they had no plans to include user suggestions in designs. However when I worded my question a little differently it seemed this might be something they were already thinking of. They told me to follow them on FB/twitter to watch for updates, but I figure if they ever release a way to use these thru water we will know fast :)

Unrelated....

To protect my screen I didn't want to take off the one that came with it, but I did not want my screen to get damaged. I cut a part off an old screen protector which did not have much stickiness but wedges itself inside the corners pretty well. I will be making a more exact cut with some stuff that still had adhesive on it and replacing this with an even nicer one but for now I will rest easy that my display won't get all messed up.
