Hard to say for certain, and not sure if Ace will come on and confirm, but looks like they cast the blank so much less CNC needed for finished product. In first pic everything has kind of rounded edges, but the second is clean sharp edges with taper. Also, the color differences look like second is polished, while first is raw. One of those that was not cut probably made it into the wrong box somewhere along the way.

Seems like they have alot of problems of things getting placed in the wrong shipping box. What gives? I know they make it right but it still isnt good for the customer and they have to waste time with CS and shipping the right items.

:ninja:I know to some they can do no wrong and the epic vape mafia probably will have a hit out on my head

Well, yeah. Shit happens. Think they are still constantly getting better with all.

Personally, I'd rather risk the possibility and deal with it than see Epic bring on another person or two to tighten things up and charge more for everything. Good example would be that it seems Storz & Bickel seldom have similar issues, but all of their vapes are overpriced IMO.

Have always had - and continue to have - similar issues from other vendors (vape related and not) who are small operations trying to keep up with instant popularity.

And, wouldn't say this was Epic putting something in the wrong shipping box on this one (though, they apparently didn't check it). Don't think Andy does the CNC work, so the mistake probably would have been by their supplier.

So the alternative is to either spend more $ hiring people or continue to get shipments wrong every so often? There is nothing else that could be done?

I think I'm part of the epic vape mafia. Lol Very we'll put but u seem nice enough. I went ahead and canceled that hit. HaHa
To epic's defense not that they need me just my opinion.
I believe he started out as a hobby trying to give people a quality vape at fair price while keeping it real.I believe he still has a full time job running epic on the side.Don't know if its still the case don't know!!
I wood rather deal with a small company any day of the week!!! My order went perfect guess I got lucky.changed gong size and everything still flawless. On that note CS has a few kinks to work out and it seems like he's on it!!!
Keep up the good work epic vape:love::love::love:

All stands were cut on a cnc machine from 6061 aluminum bar stock. The first batch were powder coated. After the stands had shipped it turned out that in a few of the stands the powder coating was applied so thick that it made the holes too small. In those select cases a new aluminum stand that was anodized was sent to replace the defective powder coated units.
Our shipping process is far from perfect but in this case it wasn't a shipping error, it was a qc error, I didn't realize how much the thickness of the powder coating could vary.

So the alternative is to either spend more $ hiring people or continue to get shipments wrong every so often? There is nothing else that could be done?

Since I started this I guess.....

No... the other alternative is that they continue to work on tightening up orders. From what I've read here over the past 2 years plus, and personal experience, this seems to be how things are going.

My point was (and is) that we're dealing with a very small operation getting handmade products. Glitches as are seen with orders (less all the time, but apparently still happening) are part of the buying experience as is the case with other vendors found here pretty much exclusively on FC, or with small vendors of just about anything else that they aren't simply reselling.

As consumers, we have a couple options. One is to deal with such issues - and expect this is going to happen while we are getting a great product at a good price (Epic). Another is to not deal with small companies such as this and pay a premium while getting less personal service (S&B, Arizer & others). Or in the case of vapes, to choose to deal with a small vendor that does things at his own personal pace and get on the waiting list (Alan with HI).

What I'm saying is that IMO, the little blips that currently go on are a small inconvenience that is to be expected on occasion when dealing with a small company selling a handmade product and getting them out as fast as they can. If this is that troubling, or considered a major inconvenience, there are other places to take your business. But, please don't expect different or suggest that the company do things specifically to your (or anyone else's) liking. I personally like the fact that Andy has kept it small and the prices have been static since introduction. Could be wrong, but to me it seems that Nadia and he are just barely overwhelmed from time to time (or more). Most ways to fix that are going to cost money, and that is going to have to come from customers at some point. Andy is going to do what he wants or thinks best for his business. I'm fine with that, and assume most others here are also. But, if my opinion was asked (and it hasn't been), I'd suggest they keep chugging along and getting better as they have - and keep prices reasonable.

Got my new ash-catcher from CCG yesterday! (First order from him). Almost bought this AC for $90 on ioffer last month before I saw CCG post it for around $20. I couldn't resist at that price.

I was quite pleased that it pairs very well with my GB-187-S. Not a bad setup for my reclaim vaping (high temp, bad flavor). Though this setup obviously robs me of practically all flavor for flowers.

But it seems to be about $10 more than what I paid. Still not a bad setup for less than $80 total!

What a beast!! Looks like it's great for ABV oil vaping, though. Is that cran extract in there, or have you found something else that works as well? Looks kind of brown-ish in pic.

Indeed it's great for abv oil! The flavor is almost pleasant (almost, lol).

Yes, that's a few drops of dirty cranberry extract (not as much as it looks). I had to lower the aperture settings to get a good picture of the glass in my white photo studio (I need to swap out those backgrounds). Makes the water look a lot dirtier than it really is

Dang, I specifically stated that I wasn't trying to bring up any discussion of anybody's customer service issues. My wife and I collect folk art and really enjoy having functional items that are unique and hand made if at all possible. We much prefer our artists and craftsmen to put their energy into their craft first and their business second.

Maybe one day @ACE OF VAPE will be such a commercial success that they will have to outsource manufacturing to China and hire Amazon to do their fulfillment. And when they have that 99% customer service feedback score and 5 star reviews, some will be happy, but I think something will have been lost as well.

So, @ACE OF VAPE please forgive me for ever posting that pic of my stands. And keep on doing what you are doing: making awesome devices and hopefully working on new stuff to amaze and astound us in the future.

Honestly every order I have made has involved a smallish error by Epicvape. I just can't help but blindly love them. It's hard to explain but there is a reason we all love Epicvape so much.

False dichotomys. They are everywhere today. @ChippyMalone yes I know what you said thats why I didnt quote you but this is a public forum so this type of discussion is kind of bound to happen. IDK maybe I see a difference from tightening up CS which would save EV time and money (in the long run) all while having happier customers vs making their product in China and selling on Amazon.

Stepping on eggshells is the feeling I get in this thread, people are passionate about this product I get that (I own one too ). Call me crazy but I think @ACE OF VAPE is a big boy and might actually appreciate respectful and constructive criticism? Of course he makes a great product thats kind of a given, this thread isnt 450 pages for no reason. I am glad to hear there have already been changes.

This is why I only use sunshine store these days for Chinese glass. Everything ive ordered from them (d020-d, j hooks and pinnacle water too rip off) has been delivered to uk under the 2 week mark.
From order to delivery. And also well packaged and nothing broken.

I'm sure other enano'ists will confirm other good dh gate merchants.

But good idea for newbies ordering glass either before or at the same time as the nano. As much as people say no to the water pipes and j hooks, you always end up trying them and usually loving the experience. ( I know I did )

Hoping this weekend my nano will be reborn and rise from the ashes as the nano phoenix and back to being my dailey driver, seems like an age been aware from the nano!!!

Enjoy your nano's out in nano land very jealous plainlazy here in the UK.
