Alright that's it count me in. This forum is killing me from the bank account out. Lol
Awesome idea much rather order from @Ed's TnT SCS guts just a bonus. Just a thought would grinder be removable @Ratchett maybe make the wrap that would be installed into eds master piece. That way u could fight out the grinder for cleaning and replacement? Just a thought?
These grinders been on my mind since u posted @SSVUN~YAH glad to see them evolving put my mind to rest for a little while any ways.

It's not just the art, it's functional in adding a huge amount of grip and leverage... it could be an answer for those with weak hands.

Mendocino Mulcher makes a heavily knurled double thickness 2 piece grinder for maximum grip. I don't like using anything else after getting mine even though the grip is not my issue.

If @Ed's TnT made wooden cases for these, I'd suggest something like the 2 piece Space Case for high quality, made in the USA, and relatively inexpensive starting piece that costs about $20 for a small 2 piece grinder.

Funny i was looking at each of those two pieces from mendo and space case. I ended up just ordering an eq basket screen for my lsv and decided to control my impulses...

Maybe only because the allure of a nice kief bowl..is just too tempting..

In reality only because i couldnt decide.

So scs or maybe even a diamond grinder will be in store.:rockon:

Since if i want a two piece i can just take the top half and grind it seperate from the bottom, right?lol:hmm::2c: :freak:

How long does that take to get a fine grind? Not going to lie that seems odd considering the other options out there,l do you find that its creates a size that no grinder can match? That's a techinique I never would have thought of.

For $0.25, hard to beat.
The pill container and quarter method seems more like a novelty...never tried it but it seems like it would take a long time, be noisy, and I'm imagining tiny plastic particles getting chipped and added to your herbal mixture.

Plus, I would think that that would only work with VERY dry herbs.

I used to use a scissors in a shot glass. I don't anymore but I still think it may help to do less damage to the tricks than grinding though.

Not long at all. I usually shake it for about 30 seconds, then check to see if it's fine enough yet. The number of repetitions depends on the starting state of the material. If you start with whole buds, you can get any grade of grind you like using this method.

The only fine grinder I'm aware of is the Magic-Flight finishing grinder, which I've never tried. Lots of people use coffee grinders of course, but again I've never tried one. Unlike the MFFG, that's an alternative I would never use.

A friend of mine says that I'm knocking off the trichomes, and there's truth in that. There's a fine layer of trichomes left inside the bottle, but you can harvest it if you like. Any grinding method knocks off some trichomes, it's just a matter of degree. I'm pretty sure the coffee grinder is the worst offender on this score. I've never been able to detect any difference in the quality and quantity of vapour from a fine grind produced this way versus grinding upside down or any other method, but perhaps someone else could.

:p:cool::nod::peace:

Edit @pakalolo i agree as the trics would be in an enclosed environment anyhow. Plus i think broken tric are a null issue as we melt it anyways. Unless thc molecules are really destroyed by agitation and not just increased exposure to detrimental conditions. Which would be my main concern as unless youre using a scalple or whatever, youre gonna have to agitate them somewhat. Also makes me wonder if these studies took those factors into account.

Edit:But plastic, i do agree, isnt that great although it depends completly upon what kind of plastic. Otherwise volcano wouldnt be good. Shaking a jar hard enough could be bad i suppose. Prob nothing worse than turning on your car heater tho.

Quite resourceful . Just use a clean quarter :uhoh:

SWIM :brow: has seen a girl poop quarters...

I would buy a shell/send in my grinder to be fitted(if that was needed for each order) because I don't like to tap the grinder metal to metal to remove my ground cannabis. But if it had a wooden outer casing I could gently tap it together without having to worry about metal or paint shavings.

I was thinking the same after realizing how screweed the outer part of my grasscity free grinder i have is, when i was getting paranoid about the ti coating chipping on the sc from me needing to do the same!:lmao:

Hey everyone, I've got a Santa Cruz shredder that leaves a white trail along the entire circumference of the grinder when grinding with it. It can be rubbed off, just wondering why it would do this? It's a 2 piece large.

If it's rubbing off, it's probably from sticky bits of your herb getting smeared in there. Keeping the female piece on top while grinding will minimize loss to the gap. If it's getting too sticky to use, you could try some Grinder Grease... it will keep it clean and spinning like a ball bearing.

If that doesn't add up to your problem, please post a picture of the trail.
