Unfortunately my experience with capping ABV is limited to reading about it here. Maybe @Enchantre can help us with this. My own abv/reclaim/errl brownies had almost zero discernible flavors that didn't belong. And definitely zero backdraft.

The best results I've had so far is with coconut oil and a slow simmer with ground up abv over 3 hours or so. I'll then gently melt down some chocolate nibs and stir in a teaspoon of the infused coconut oil, return it to the fridge and let it become solid. It seems to keep me well medicated for several hours.

ABV capsules were a PITA, so we deemed ABV too valuable to waste that way. My hubby gets sad eyes when the cannaoil jar gets low...

I have my tiny cache of it in a jar right now with some cooked-out buds (made butter yesterday) steeping in coconut oil.

I've read so much about what to do with ABV, from complex to easier suggestions but I wonder, should you mix it with fat/oil to make it work better (e.g. with peanut butter, making canna butter, mixing it with coconut oil, or mixing it with dairy)?

I make cookies so much that I am now known as the cookie guy. And my cookies absolutely will get you BLAZED, super high. One of them gets me red eyed and completely stoned. Two of them will roast me so much that I can't really operate a motor vehicle, and I believe I'm a fairly heavy user. I vape on average an ounce of flower a month. My experience with ABV edibles has surprised me and I am a 30 year smoker. I've eaten edibles many times previous and really never noticed a high, but these are unmistakable. So I wait until I have a 1/2 oz of material, and I am a flavor guy so my ABV is actually quite yellow with the occasional green fleck. I take that and 2 sticks of butter and put them in a double boiler for about 6 hours. I strain through paper coffee filters and press the material with a couple spoons. Let the butter solid up, but leave it room temp and it usually yields one stick of butter or a 1/2 cup of butter which is exactly the amount for my cookie batch. I use Dunkin Hines, it comes in a small bag, mix with one egg and 1/2 cup of softened butter and I cook it at 300 instead of the 350 it asks for, just cook a bit longer. My material is not completely toasted, but my cookies are so potent that I have no doubt that darkly roasted ABV will still have effects.
