@JJ Cool F , I'm very pleased to hear you enjoy your mighty exactly with the same technique like me! Try a finer grind, a coarse grind, tamped down hard, fluffy filled, hash, kief.... Or power up with a tamped bowl to maximum temperature and enjoy an experience close to combusting a joint (better don't do lung hits). take a big mouth full and slightly open up your throat, then stop to draw on the mighty before breathing in the lungs. The mighty is like a ugly iPhone to me. Works great, anytime! Everyday it surprises me how well and constantly it works, how well planned it is. And after just a few days it's part of my life and I never looked back to my old Nokia brick...

@stuy1976 , the pax is a joint, the mighty a pipe, and perhaps there is a bong out there, still waiting for you!

The mighty made me stop to combust 4 months ago... But you have to stick to your Vapes and resist the nicotine. Welcome medicating in the year 2015 is what I thought after I got my crafty on Christmas which knocked me out with 3 bowls!

Why better not to lung hit Michel, is it unsafe?? Surely lung hitting at 180-190 is safer, better for you and more economical than sipping at 210? :hmm:

So I've tried to drink a lot when vapping yesterday... and it went great ! Youhou ! :haw:
I'm so glad. I'm still confused that it is not a known problem but hey, I wasn't experienced it with my Imag+ so it may be the way the Mighty produce its vapor.

I did two bowls 40% full, the first at 160°, and I pushed the second one at 175°. I drank like 1,5 liter during the one hour session to be sure I was totaly hydrate ahah.

The result :
- Good sensations, lighty but with not that many weed and low temperature it seems normal
- The more I rise the temp, the more I felt my lungs taking hit. I think I'm also sensible with my lungs (but not with combustion, I still don't get it).
- I have a small chest pressure this morning, but nothing to compare to what I've experienced before.

My questions :
- About lungs taking pressure, is it normal ? Does it pass with experience ?
- I don't feel the vapor to be hot at all, but the temperature seems to influence the effect on my lungs and probably my chest. Do you think a glass filter will help me to vaping ? Or is it the cannabinoid that affect the lungs ?
- How do you know you have finish to vap the herb ? Mine is light brown when I think I'm done but I'm always uncertain.

Thank you all :)

Good to hear viskuld, some people use water pipes / water filtration when vaping. That may be a good solution for you. Seems with lower temps and hydration your ok though. Just keep monitoring things and take some nice deep full inhales and exhales from time to time when not vaping. Expand those lungs and ease your mind. Take care.

So as I said safer to lung hit at lower temperatures?!?!
Michel do you usually lung hit the Mighty?
I think it's me not getting what you mean by "safe". * ironic on * Coughing, isn't unsafe, it opens the lungs and makes you more stoned it trains the muscles, too :D *ironic off* . Did you read the first phrase of my other post were I wrote:

But to answer your question, I don't lung hit on high temps. But others do!
Like Adam_baumm answered already:
You can hit this vape any way you want , if you want to take short inhales but want lots of dense vapor, ....snip....
.....snap..... start on 210'C with a tamped bowl.
Everyone develops his own technique. Everybody purchased the black OCB papers or the RAW papers around me, myself included. And natural "American spirit" tobacco. Sometimes we even smoked the same weed. But everybody rolled joints on his own way! Different mixes, different grinds, different filters, tamped or fluffy joint, rolling inside out etc. guess who rolled "the best" joints after my taste? Me! But it took me some time and I spend some weed to find my way. So you should experiment a lot with the variables you can influence. Just be happy it wrecks you each time in another delicious way and take your time!

@Viskuld
Good you found a way to use the mighty. I can understand what you are experiencing. Probably it's the large amount of dry air. Try to produce denser vapor with less airflow by the lots of variables mentioned here or the crafty thread, hope it helps! Combusting can be less harsh to the lungs than vaping. There are some discussions about making the switch in other threads and the difference of conduction and convection to the quality of vapor.
I have a similar problem with the MV on red. But I'm not anxious. Just coughing, sometimes drinking and enjoying the high... I'm with adam, perhaps you should try water.
When is a bowl over? For some when the taste is gone, for some when the thick vapor on 180'C is gone, for me when there is no vapor any more at 200'C. But this is a very basic question, I'm quite sure it has been answered already.

Edit: Simply hook the mighty to a plastic bottle before you buy anything if you have not already a bong somewhere! You could use the mouth piece as "short pipe" like in the jpg if you are carefull. But better use a whip...

Haha yea don't worry Michel, I don't get myself sometimes! :hmm:
I suppose I was just thinking if you hit at a lower heat it's not as bad for you. I've read some reports that vaping over 195 degrees can release some harmful shit (sorry can't remember the scientific terms that were used) that isn't released at lower temperatures! Also lung hits feel harder on the chest and lungs than sipping so I just presumed it meant it was doing you more harm. Ive recently (two weeks ago) moved over from 25 years combusting to vaping so I'm just trying to get as much info from you good people as I can about the safest way of doing it.

Ill just add a little to Michel's excellent post.

All vapes involve hot air, but some are better than others. My other vape is a volcano. It's a well built machine and considered medical grade in some circles. But it still uses hot air and that can be irritating when inhaling. I found my "sweet spot" at fairly low temperatures, its somewhat wastefull, but its flavorfull, and much easier on old lungs. And we make oil from the abv.

The mighty is pretty good as far as vapes go for vape temps of inhaled vapors. If it bothers your lungs, I would look at using a water pipe with your mighty and consider eating mj as a safer alternative.

Thank you all for your kind answers. Really, it's great to have people to talk about it.

I hear you when you're talking about water filtration, but I'd like to not use a bong :/
First because I don't like the way it looks, and second because I like how pratical the Mighty is when I want to vap watching a movie for example. Water filtration always seems to take place and all.
I like to smoke my weed, so I'm not really fond of eating the mj.

Do you think a simple whip (like this one) could do the trick and low down the temperature to ease my lungs ? Or do you think the drieness that is in the vapor can only be softed with water ?

I can't find on google filters that are made specificaly for the Mighty, it's strange.

@Viskuld :
I tagged you in the MV thread where I tried water the first time with a simple plastic bottle myself. It is really smooth, I can take really big hits. I was coughing anyway, but I started first hit directly on 210'C what I can't concern to anybody like I said a few times already. :science: It was just to compare the mighty to the buggy Minivap I have)

@stuy1976
Ok no problem, you are right! From that point of view it could be "safer". The nasty benzenes and so on. But seriously, I don't give a fuck! Healthier than combusting anyways like I used to do for years :D . I try to hold my breath and not hit my mighty when old stinky diesel-powered cars are passing by. I hope this helps more :mental:

@Viskuld

You are experimenting lung irritation from particulates of the vapor which leads to pressure in the chest. If you are actually combusting anything and vaping in the same time, your lungs are really affected strongly by the vapors as both affect the lungs. Vapors penetrating further in the lungs imo.

Yes the other way from water filtration is adding lenght and angles of a tubing to cool the air and deposit particles inside the tubes. YOu can find some tubing here these tubing are like legos, you can add and reduce diameter and doing your own dry whip filtration.

I bet everyone is different. For me, I can not take all the cannabinoids and I-don't-know-what-alls that a fresh bowl produces at high temp. such as 425 F OR 210 C: too much at once makes me cough and my lungs feel as if I inhaled glass dust.

But if I start the bowl around 350 F , get all I can at that temp, and then increase to 400 or more for that batch of cannabinoids, I will cough way less, and no glass dust feeling.

Hi guys long time no see, I've been busy with work and finally sent in my mighty. After receive I emailed them and they told me that they would send me my replacement within 24 hours. I told them that I would like to buy 2 Wear and tear kits. They called me back today and great news they are sending me a brand new unit and that 1 of the wear and tear kits would be free :) on top of all this I only sent them the mighty unit alone + box + inserts and kept the charger + CU + orange stick thinking I would get the original unit and also worried if I sent in the CU they might open the package or something. I rather not take the chance because of a bit of resin even though im sure nothing would.

This is great and means additional CU (Y)

also I asked what will they do with the unit and they would be sending it to Germany for repair, so maybe the Oakland branch just takes in the units and sends out new ones instead of repairing them right away. FYI my unit was 1600+

Great service from S&B

Any tips for shatter/concentrate? I was using the oil pad but it gets really gunked up and the oil pad itself is a real pain to clean

Hi, to me the oil pads ( I have mine torn apart cleanly into halves and or thirds) serve a few purposes:
*also I like to have very dry fine ground*

-they keep the load in place, and act as a spacer to get a lot out of a small amount
-I do not use a screen in my cooling unit, the oil pad sucks up a lot of resin
-they prob help keep the load hot in between draws as its made of metal, providing vapor on every draw

I agree that when using the oil pad for oils that a lot of resin builds up and its quite a pain to clean
my CU also collects a lot of gunk from shatter I want to make the most out of it but its so sticky. Ive been taking my CU apart and rubbing my joints and just get the rolling paper covered (might as well if im going to clean my CU)

Thanks for your prompt reply, appreciate it. :)

I was actually talking about the smell coming from the unit when I've finished my session etc and put it aside. I've got a balcony where I can chill and vape in peace, just worried about the thing stinking up my room when I bring it back inside after use! (I've got a pretty small room)

I'm not really looking to hook it up to a glass piece, what I'm looking for is big clouds with flavour. I hear the Minivap is comparable to The Verdamper in terms of having moist, flavourful hits, which is what really got me interested as the Verdamper is insane.

I don't really smell too much for the most part and this was my concern too i even bring it to work now the most important part about the smell would be to "empty" the CU after you've turned off your unit so take a couple of additional drags until you see no more vapor, and get a case. My case smells a bit but only when I open it otherwise it smells like nothing.

Hey Michel, so basically your saying on lower temps it's best to lung hit but if I wack the temp higher I could sip on it?

Nah Pissbucket my charger is definitely goosed! I can't snap any charger on at all because one of the two metal prongs is snapped. I tried to include a picture of snapped prong but I don't know how to upload one.

One thing I know is rechargeable batteries..especially familiar with lithium polymers, and lithium ions (ranging from 150mah-5k+. They are flat, and the cells stack like bricks incased in a plastic for safety (these batteries can also pop and light on fire like a firework lol. I know this because I used to stab bad batteries with a screwdriver and put them in water , make a nice fireball lol , and are very light weight. Every rechargeable battery on earth has a Memory, and if you always keep the battery at 75% when not charging, you train its memory to hold a charge. Just remember three things and the battery will last 10 years..easily. I've seen them stored for 5 or more years without a charge, and they still charged up, mind you their memory was shot so they barely held a charge for more than a few seconds. THREE THINGS: just keep a charger in the wall near you and throw it on anytime, even if its at 90%, and for long sessions don't run the battery below 10% without putting it on charge and getting it to that 75% mark (arround where they recommend you keep these lith-ion batteries at) when not using/not charging. This seems like a lot but those three things will give you long ass sessions..longer than when you first bought it. Btw the Chargers automatically stop charging when the Mighty is full, but the charger constantly keeps your Mighty at exactly 100% by trickle charging it

hes right about how it opens your lungs up. It's an expectorant, and was used in cough medicines to specifically open your lungs like 100 years ago lol. Lungs function by pulling excretions out through your airway (cough). All the dust and exhaust fumes you smelled all day get coughed out much more than if you didn't take anything during the day.

Vape De Herb!
Had a good blast on my Mighty last night.... What can I say, I love it! I packed the chamber full and get two sessions on it (around 7/8 pulls each time) so 14/16 in total keeping the temperature around the 190 mark.
I like to mix it up with my Pax, so I'm talking a session on the Mighty then a couple of top ups later on the Pax followed by another blast on the Mighty, seems to sort me out for the whole night that!

I like how the two vape's differ giving me different options, I find the Pax a bit more mild so I can still converse with people lol, good for earlier in the evening then when I'm ready to be couch locked I fire up the Mighty and keep quiet for the rest of the night (fuck conversing haha)
I've smoked tobacco in my herbs for over 25 years, had these vapes two weeks and not touched the dirty shit tobacco since.... Well happy with that! Well worth the outlay! :leaf::clap::leaf:

Why not try starting at 175°C instead of 190? I always start at 175°C now and you still get massive clouds, but the flavour lasts longer. Just a thought..

Congratulations on quitting tobacco!

I live in the upper midwest (states) and around me tobacco stores are quickly becoming tobacco and vape stores with as much nicotine e-juice as actual tobacco. It's like I blinked my eye and it happened, although I quit cigarrettes in 1974 and so I don't frequent smoke shops much.

Because the " slightly scratchy feeling" in the throat (on 185'C for me) feels a little bit like combustion what I personally like! And it's faster. But I liked combusting a lot and stopped only because I wanted a healthier consumption style. (And the bad taste was awful once I was into vaping). I dislike coughing, but just feeling the vapor slightly is great...

So I gave my Mighty a blast on 175 last night and just upped the temperature a couple of degrees after every toak, worked fine and I see what you mean about the better flavour, plus by hitting then turning up a degree or two after each hit you stop the machine turning itself off!

Yep. That's exactly my strategy too. The mighty is surely a contender for the best vape ever!
