500 finished units if I recall correctly, I could be wrong though, all I know is the GH team told me I was in the first big shipment, hope they decide to ship them once they get back, that would be awesome.
If I remembered correctly both Trevor and buzz said something about shipping some before they left and bringing some back with them through carry on. Buzz mentioned it on here and Trevor said it in an email. It was something like 500 units through carry on and at least 1000 units through shipping. Trevor said they would beat the shipped units back but he seemed to imply not by much because he said they would "probably" beat the shipped units back. He also said no assembly would be taking place before they got back. So, at least 1500 units ASAP and Trevor said they would be working around the clock with assembly and that they would be shipping units as soon as each one is complete. Which is nice because that means people will get units throughout the month instead of all them being shipped at the end of the month. So yay for that!!

Sounds even better, cool.

I remember seeing that somewhere too in looking around

You gotta be careful, better of just getting an ego battery and a tank really, temperature plays a big role in E-Liquids, to hot and its toxic. VG when heated above 280 degrees Celsius chemically converts to the toxic acrolein.

No point in getting an all in one honestly anyways or using a herb vaporizer for it...E-Cigs are cheap enough IMO. I just got another 1100 VV/VW Smoktech Ego for 14 dollars off Ebay, tanks are like 5-10 for a decent one, coils are like a dollar and last like 20 tanks average.

Just my :2c:
Hey, don't mean to derail from the whole GH thing but been looking more and somehow started thinking about the Haze (plenty more than I planned on spending while waiting for GH but w.e) from what I see its a pretty solid unit and also happens to be built sort of like an all-in-one... so my question is would you say its a solid tape to grab and also use for e liquid? or is it still risky with the Haze as well?

Hey, don't mean to derail from the whole GH thing but.....

If you have to start a sentence with the above, then you should stop typing, and search for the appropriate thread to post your thoughts in. In this case, your questions would be better served in Ask FC or the Haze thread.

Thanks.

On indiegogo I count 1744 GH ordered by backers. Then even if they come back from China with 500, there will still be lots of frustration
And as I live overseas , I suppose I'm at the bottom of their list ...
Can't wait to play with it !

Pretty sure they are doing it in order, not by where you live, no? I say 500 for the first shipment is great...

It goes in the order of when you became a backer, not based off where you live.(Stainless Steel units only at this time though)

It was reported they are bringing back enough parts for 500 units, plus parts for another 1000 units will be shipped at the same time.
That takes care of the first 1500 units.

While they are assembling and shipping those 1500 units, parts are still being produced and shipped in order to make more units. They could have the parts to build many more units by the time they finish building and shipping those first 1500.

Nothing about this is out of place. Everything will start picking up speed once they get back with those parts for the first units. Fret not.

Ok @HillaryClinton and @Krazzykid . Then I'll have to hope being in the first 1500. Because as I backed it on Dec 13 2013 (that's a long time ago), I certainly won't be in the first 500.

What about the stainless case? I don't remember seeing it. I hope I won't have to wait 'til those cases are done because I'm turning crazy waiting…

BTW, I think they are on their plane/way home right now. Go GH team! We're waiting for y'all!

Trevor said in an email that the Ti models should not be delayed compared to the SS models. I asked him a little bit ago whether or not the estimated ship date was still good even if I order a green Ti model and he said it was. My estimated ship date is April. Also, I may be mistaken but I believe he said that we should be getting an update about the Ti gh in the next update and that it would include pics of the finished product. So, some have been made, not sure how many or if that 1500 includes some Ti models or SS only. I don't believe the breakdown of the 1500 shipped/carried units has been discussed.

Hey y'all. So I'v been watching the grasshopper saga unfold for years now. Have never backed it, but have always fully believed they will get there in the end. I have a question: when is it realistically likely that I can pick up a grasshopper, in the 'traditional' sense (online from vapefiend or similar)? I realise that many backers on this forum are waiting for an imminent arrival within the next few weeks, But after that are we talking months/end of 2015? Obviously there is no answer to this, I'm just asking for an educated guess.

If you put your pre-order in now you would probably have one by May/June
hmmmmmm, maybe I will, maybe I willlllllll. Might wait till a few here start reviewing - sounds like some might get theirs in a week or so?

Hey guys I emailed Trevor asking if I was in those 500 grasshoppers since I contributed within the first week. This is what he replied basically he doesn't know where everyone got that they were taking 500 units back with them. If you ordered in the first week you can expect it in April.

"Hi Leo,

Thanks for contacting me. I am not sure where the returning with 500 units came from. We are bringing some parts back with us but these are not completed units. If you contributed the first week it is aviliable you will get your unit in April! We will send you confirmation when we are about to ship it.

Best,

Trevor"

TheLeo55,
Just get something tried and tested, and "idiot proof". Like a solo. It has a lot of flaws, but I use it every day because I can consistently get adequate results without a lot of trouble, and it never lets me down.

The most important thing is to fuckcombustion the sooner the better. The Solo would be an excellent choice for a first vaporizer. You need something easy to use and has good vapor flavor. You can use it like a desk top plugged in or like a portable, cord free.

Hate to tell you, but stealth vapes aren't the best idea if you're just getting into vaporizers. Go buy the Arizer solo and learn how a good affordable vape should work. If you're trying to save money - go buy the Flowermate - it's a much better vaporizer than the V2 for around the same price.

To be honest, if you've got the money to gamble on it, and you want a new toy, then go for it. But be realistic in your expectations. It probably won't be the only vape you'll want or need. Just the battery life, and the inability to change a battery outside the unit is a big limitation (At least for me. )

I very much agree with the last few pages that more than one vape is something any Vaporist should have. I have a few back-ups, and if all else fails I have a dusty Arizer Extreme Q. Buying a solo is probably the safest and most versatile home portable right now. Although I have concerns about the customer service for the Solo now that the Air is out.

Wow, everyone seems to agree the grasshopper isn't ideal for a first vape. I was surprised as I also was looking at the Air but decided to hold off due to the upcoming (I hope) release of the GH. If all goes as anticipated, most backers should have the GH in their hands within 30 days. It won't take long to be flooded with user reviews of this unit. What if it lives up to expectations and is indeed a game changer?

Battery life seems on par with the Air and it won't take long for an external charger to be available (although I'm sure any generic adjustable battery charger could be used today)

Convection is a huge plus, never seen on such a small device. What if it blows conduction on the Air out of the water?

There are other points but I think they've been addressed many times in the last 160+ pages :-)

I guess my point is I don't understand why you would drop 200CDN on the Air when we will have solid reviews of the GH in less than a month.

It's important to see how the GH holds up to to daily abuse. How will the GH work 6 months from now? That's what I want to know.

Convection is overrated. It's a great way to vape, but not essential. Some of my conduction vapes can produce dense clouds once fully preheated - don't base your vape purchase on the method it uses to cook the herbs

The Air is based on the Solo which has been around for several years. Arizer is an established company with a good track record. If you only have $200CDN to spare for a vape, the Air is a more reliable, safer investment.

Sure the GH has a lifetime warranty, but what happens if everyone starts sending in their GH for repairs? How will they respond? Will people wait months for a replacement? What guarantee do we have that GH won't fold next year?

There are MANY unknowns with the grasshopper, only time will tell how good of an investment this vaporizer is. Luckily for me, I can spare $150 USD for a fun toy like this. But for someone on a tight budget, I really don't think the GH would be a wise investment at this time..... :2c:
