Never had any oil drops forming on or in the ELBA, usually I get a small drop forming on the glass of the M2M.
Maybe try starting at a lower temp and work your way up to see if that helps.

I know that if I use my glass straw on my MiniVap and start at a high temp I get more oil in the glass than if I started on Blue and worked through the temps.
I get what you are saying, I am currently soaking my 14 F2F adapter and the sides are caked with sticky goodness. I get to vape that now.

Ok. I think I now understand what you guys are doing with a lot of success. There is a screen, hemp or cotton filler, screen all under the elb in the 18mm m2m. Then you place your medicine in the elb. Without the elb screen top, you hit the flowers in the elb and any juicy goodness is soaked up by the filler, which is later to be vaped. Your piece stays clean because the filler catches everything.

Is that somewhat correct? Will a 14mm m2m work just as well as a 18mm m2m?

Thanks for this summary of the setup. I'm new to the M2M setup and want to try this weekend. I've been trying to follow the last 7 or so pages, but don't have a lot of experience with the Q and ELB screens, so a few questions -

1. Is the ELB screen in 2 parts - longer and shorter - and in this setup you're just using the longer one?
2. Is there consensus around the ELB or Q screen being better for this application?
3. How do you vape the cotton/hemp filter?

1 -- yes
2 -- nope...different strokes for different folks
3 -- I would do it like this:

Purchased my lsv from stickstones and had great customer service again. Instead of the typical grinder, I got a 18m2m, an evo elb, hemp fiber. Which retailer hooks you up with a setup he knows you will like. Also got a free jyarz and always great advice and follow up. Tomorrow will be the day I get to play with this baby. I would expect the price tag to be steeper with all this quality. Damn, even the bag it comes with looks nice and protects well. I can easily see this as a $300 vape.

That lsv bag is awesome.
I can easily pack the lsv, a glass piece, grinder, stirring pick, glass adapters, herb container, ground herb container, abc container, scales, and whatever else I'd need for a sesh.

It's like a Mary poppins bag

I use the ELB complete with cap now as well. Reason being is that I would get some blow back from time to time and it would get the screen in my LSV a bit dirty. I do this when grinding only typically, as whole unground nugs aren't really an issue.

@stickstones why does the ELB stick out of the top of the double male? I assume it just won't fit further down? Mine sits flush....I have a bunch more on the way from China.

2. Is there consensus around the ELB or Q screen being better for this application?

ELB! AFAIK, @lwien is the only one having success with the Arizer EQ elbow screen. No need for them IMO, when you can simply use the "top" part of the ELB and you get exactly the same as the elbow screen, just ever so slightly smaller. The reason some of us don't like using the EQ screen is that it places the load to close to the heat source and you get unevenly vaped/dark spots. If you don't care about taste, sure go ahead and rip up the .1g in it, but some like me like lower temp hits that extract everything. I haven't gone back to not using the ELB since I bought the LSV!

3. How do you vape the cotton/hemp filter?

This has been discussed alot over the past pages. I use @lazylathe method with a screen and cotton. I highly suggest you read some more but I hope this helps so far.

I just got some new strains in (Jack Herer, PK, AK47, AK47xwhite widow) and I am BLOWN AWAY by the flavours and tastes i'm experiencing at 11:30 on the dial! Had a great shatter experience as well, both super low temp tasty AND higher temp thick and potent!

It's going to be an impressive day when a new vape knocks my LSV from flagship status!! I'm already seriously considering a 2nd! Best price i've seen so far is $179cdn from vaped.ca but I think @lazylathe scored the last one! With free shipping I don't think a deal like that exists anywhere?

I sure wish I knew why this does not happen with mine. It vapes perfectly evenly. Draw rate maybe? Type of water tool being used? Grind? I sure would like know, if for nothing other than satisfying my curiosity.

I get great results and even extraction using the EQ elbow screen. I have found that there's a very fine line, though, between just the right amount of heat and too much. For me, walking it right up to the combustion line without crossing it is very rewarding.

How is the taste?

Can this work for concentrates? It's the minivap liquid pad, that has an indent in the body that fits on top of the m2m but no stability. That's the m2m that stickstones gave me when I bought the lsv from him.
I don't think that will work. Maybe if it were trimmed down enough to be pushed into the adapter a little bit.

Thanks @stickstones and @biohacker! I've ordered some ELBs and look forward to trying the M2M with cotton filter next week.

I want to get a new glass piece that will live at home for use with the LSV. I like pieces with ice catchers but I'm looking at these two right now and the one with more diffusion doesn't look like it could be used with ice. I want maximum diffusion for cheap but not sure I want to sacrifice the ice catcher for it. So which of these two would work better with the LSV? Or would you recommend something else entirely?

I want maximum diffusion....

Why?

I mean with smoke I understand, but why would you want to rob all the great taste from vapor with all that diffusion?

One of the prime reasons for getting an LSV is the great taste that it provides by providing an air and glass vapor path while dispensing with running the vapor through a long silicone/rubber whip but in my opinion, you are defeating these things with a lot of diffusion.

After receiving the beautiful LSV package, I am getting some of the problems that I face with all convection vaporizers. The dark concentrated spots and uneven avb. What am I doing wrong? Same thing with my nano. I know its a 100% user error.

SoI tried pulling out the ceramic a little further, and got some clouds. But its extremely dark on one side and completely green on the other. I stir too. There is no way I can pull the ceramic to the hyphen mark. I also need to use 2-3 oclock on the dial. I hope I can learn what I am doing wrong. Maybe I should just buy the WPA.

Do you guys rest the lsv on the m2m or hold it there? What type of draw? I am using SCS 3 piece and filling the bottom halfof bowl. Maybe I should try lwien's method of arizer basket.

Great question! I had never questioned that more diffusion = better - I think it's hard-wired in my head from smoking for so long. Is there benefit to diffusion with the lsv beyond cooling the vapor?

The primary reason to run your vapor through water is not to cool it but rather to moisturize it. A little diffusion is good but in my opinion, you really want a LOT less than you would want when smoking.

Thanks! And thanks for putting up with my n00b questions. I'm going to try out my WPA with no ash catcher tonight and see what it's like with less diffusion.

2-3 is pretty hot, I'm not surprised you're getting uneven abv. I can vape until it's a dark brown by starting at noon and ending at 1, and by drawing slowly
