Arizer Solo

The o-ring holds the stem tighter in place. I prefer not to use an o-ring I like the play in the stem. You get more clouds with more airflow by rocking the stem and turning it. Arizer made the Solo with a loose stem on purpose. It's all personal preference and it's all good.

Enjoy your Solo whichever way you decide to use it. I ordered 2 more Vortex stems since they were in stock. I misplaced one of mine. I searched all over and couldn't find it. I also ordered some caps for the stems too.

EDIT
No bent stem yet.:| they have a shorty I wouldn't personally want one of those. I like the added airflow to cool the vapor. No GonG with the vortex yet either.

Any stock on the bent Vortex you were mentioning?

EDIT
Ok thanks...think I`ll hold out for the bent one...my homemade whip is working really well for me right now but it would probably be even better with a Vortex...

I have rocked my stem too, I thought it was my imagination. Seems like with less outside air you would get better vapor, I was thinking maybe the more airflow though the 4 holes in the bottom of the oven the better, but those four holes I am sure draw air from outside the heater in any case, though the air entering may be warmer?

I just realized if my buddy gets one then we can put two on top of a bubbler at once with an adapter! Low temp tasty hits with decent vapor.

With the PVHES mouthpieces you get added airflow because of the added air channels. Also an easier draw. Arizer didn't make a mistake when they allowed for the stem to be loose in the Solo. If you refer a tighter stem use the o-ring. Some worry about the stem falling out. I secure my index finger on top of my stem just out of habit. I have had a broken stem on occasion. Right @ataxian?

Damn, i'm glad I didn't sell my Solo! Although I love my Air, I don't want to use my 3rd party (epicvape) gong with it as to not stretch the rings. It fits perfectly in my Solo....fits snug, but still loose enough to be able to manipulate it to give any kind of airflow I choose. So with a fully heated Solo on 7, I invert it on a freshly ground gong (turbo adjustable basket to any size I choose) and pull immediately for pure convection taste and clouds! The density of vapour is incredible and the taste is awesome. I love looking back at the ABV and seeing no dark or roasted spots like I would my old Nano. I can use the Solo like a Nano and get even better results!

Is there any difference in performance with the o-ring in? Am I missing something? Maybe more airflow directly through the herb since there is a tighter seal?

Yes, you got it right... it will make even more since if you look at some pictures of a heater taken apart (don't take yours apart). Using an unmodified o-ring can increase heating performance... in fact, that's the main reason I use it. The o-ring forces all of your intake air to run through the heater instead of some being allowed to run down the outside of you stem. I believe this results in more consistent heating and more efficient use of the battery. The downside to this is having to lift/tilt the stem just a bit or use a modified stem to get any flow at all.

Or put a some screens in the heater.

SOLO Vaporized Cannabis is my Best Medicine
Just got my claisen adaptor today:

Makes clearing your hit much easier. I put the EQ elbow on so I could block the airflow with my finger. With less airflow there is less splash back too. The Solo can be used in either position, but I found it easier to watch TV with an unobstructed view with the Solo to the side. I did the double Solo trick, but it seems like alot of work and the whole reason I got it was for the easy clear feature anyway. Got to admit it works better than a joint and lighter and looks a whole lot cooler.:science:

How's that vortex stem compare to the regular PVHE stem, not the turbo?
It's a cooler vapor. You can hit the higher temps without being too harsh. It has an inch longer stem than the regular. It's $3 more than the reg PVHES mouthpieces.

I usually vaporize my cannabis on temp 4 with the Solo when I'm using a regular PVHES or regular Solo stem and end on 5. When using the Vortex stem I start out at heat level 5. At the end of my session I go to 6. I use cannabis for pain the higher temperatures work better for me if I can tolerate it.

I'm sooooo happy! A couple weeks ago I messed up my solo when I accidently disconnected the white temp sensor lump from the side of the oven, which I know now was loose and is what was giving me problems in the first place..

Anyway I was looking for a broken Solo so I could hopefully swap out some parts and get mine working. I wrote Randy from Puff it up and he really hooked me up. He ended up sending the insides of a newer functioning unit with a working oven but with a broken bottom..

I switched out the electronics of the new one into the un broken base from mine. I was a little nervous for a sec but everything went smooth.

Out with the old

IMO the newer model fit the stem way too loose. and I didn't like the way you cant use an o-ring in the newer model to make the stem tight. I actually broke my oring trying to tighten it and it went crooked and cut it..

So I had to take it back apart and switch out the little ring that is in the top. Now I have my old one that seats an O-ring so the stem is nice and tight. yes I need a new one but this is still tight, but with great air flow using the PVHS stem

Now I have the newer model that I can use while charging but with what I consider the better older top that can use an o-ring and get nice and tight. Woot

Few spare parts left over... The circut board is good if any one else needs Solo parts...

You Must Unlearn, What You Have Learned...
I kinda wanna get an upright bubbler now... hmm
something that i can put right on top of the bubbler and then the solo on that
for cheap

and the search is on :)

hmmm... i dont think id spend 30 on this but it would be cool for free
http://www.420science.com/14mm-Helix-Pre-mix-Chamber
It's worth the $30 IMO, I love them with my logs and I'm sure I would have with my old Solo. I don't get stems for any of them bc I find the G/W/NonG's are far more versatile. I pack one up attach it to the Helix then take off the Helix and attach to a water pipe. It does a fantastic job of cooling compared to my old straight stems and current 14mm roasting tubes, I attach the Helix to them as well. Can also work as an extender for those stemless pieces that the joint sits lower than the can, allowing for Solo clearance.

Edit- A new member just posted some pics of one setup. Also a few posts above the one this link will take you, is another good pic.

Lots of work there!

The SOLO is the best medical device for me.
Good luck with your units!

So, I'm leaning very heavily toward getting a Solo (need to quit smoking ASAP because of living situation, and my Grasshopper probably won't arrive at least a month). I will probably get it via Vapeworld, using their FC-specific discount codes.

Anyone have any tips, tricks, concerns, or suggestions before I go ahead and purchase? (@CarolKing this is largely because of your recent posts in the GH thread.)

EDIT: I will also be looking for a slim, smellproof tube/container for carrying around a loaded Solo, if anyone has any recommendations.
