Hey so I haven't vaped b4 but wanna start (usually smoke with friends but not on my own bc of needing to be real careful about smelling) and am really thinking about placing an order for the GH, my issue is when I buy things I like to buy the better versions of whatever Im looking into (if I can afford it) and so Im thinking about getting the TI instead of SS... so I guess I'm mainly posting so someone can tell me I'm ridiculous and to just save the money and go with the SS lol. Or do you guys think the TI will be worth the $ difference?
Just get something tried and tested, and "idiot proof". Like a solo. It has a lot of flaws, but I use it every day because I can consistently get adequate results without a lot of trouble, and it never lets me down.

My firefly, which was more expensive, and looks much nicer and cooler, sits on a shelf. It is too fiddly, hard to keep clean, etc. probably is a "better" vape in terms of the technology, but a PITA.

I don't know yet which kind of vape grasshopper will be for me. But I can afford another toy. It would suck if I waited 2 months to get one as my first vape, and it turned out to be another "firefly". That's why, although most people on this thread lust after a grasshopper (I sure do, and I preordered one), I'll bet most people would advise a newbie to get something else as their first vape. A solo or an air, maybe. You'll probably be happy enough, and almost certainly not be very unhappy.

well yeah I planned on getting something simple like the v2 pro series 3 so I can vape e-liquid too once in awhile(have done that a bit) while I waited for the GH.

The most important thing is to fuckcombustion the sooner the better. The Solo would be an excellent choice for a first vaporizer. You need something easy to use and has good vapor flavor. You can use it like a desk top plugged in or like a portable, cord free.

The GH can be your second vape. You always need a backup so you don't go back to combustion once you've quit. Glad you found fuckcombustion. There's a lot of helpful folks around here.

It could be a couple to a few months before some folks get their units. Those early pre-orders will be after the financial backers. Our FC friends will be filling us in as to how great this vape really is.

Hate to tell you, but stealth vapes aren't the best idea if you're just getting into vaporizers. Go buy the Arizer solo and learn how a good affordable vape should work. If you're trying to save money - go buy the Flowermate - it's a much better vaporizer than the V2 for around the same price.

Any vaporizer can handle e-juice with a ball of sterile cotton, don't let that be the deciding factor in buying a vape

Thanks, and yeah, just went through a chunk of this thread and a little of another the other day and have been doing a bit of searching around and reviews of stuff. Been checking out the one guy who has the pre-production of it (cant remember name and but pretty obvious who) and seems pretty solid so far (granted its pre-production and has only been a little) I just dont wanna wait, have everyone get it and be great and then have to wait even longer to get it lol... guess im a bit impatient. Just love the concept of it

At this point there will be a bit of a wait to receive a unit, but still less of a wait if you preorder now.

Once they start hitting the market orders will flood in like no other, which means if you aren't quick there could still be a rather long wait time.

I'm just saying if you wait until they start really shipping before you place an order, it's possible there could still be a long wait time at that point.
I look at it as every minute I waited to order allowed countless people to get ahead of me in line.

Prices are likely to go up slightly as well, just guessing.

I understand the benefits to waiting, but there's benefits(and risks) in not waiting as well.

Edit:
Even if one ends up not liking the GH, it's among the cheapest of the vapes, not to mention I'm sure someone would take it off your hands for a slight discount.

You gotta be careful, better of just getting an ego battery and a tank really, temperature plays a big role in E-Liquids, to hot and its toxic. VG when heated above 280 degrees Celsius chemically converts to the toxic acrolein.

No point in getting an all in one honestly anyways or using a herb vaporizer for it...E-Cigs are cheap enough IMO. I just got another 1100 VV/VW Smoktech Ego for 14 dollars off Ebay, tanks are like 5-10 for a decent one, coils are like a dollar and last like 20 tanks average.

Just my :2c:

Of course it's a scam. It will only take about $80 to cover the cost of production, development, and distribution. They will probably sell it for more! I've seen these scams before. Welcome to Obama's America.

Hmmmmmmm, on second thought, I think I'll just walk away from this one....:disgust:

(.......but I HAD to say something, didn't I?)

Ha...please don't, this thread is dangerously close to being on topic. Soon enough people will have it in their hand and then what? Where will I go for wild speculation and drama?

Did you guys hear that the green ti gh will only pair with 16mm joints? Also it won't be a vaporizer, is actually a small euro style compact car.

To be honest, if you've got the money to gamble on it, and you want a new toy, then go for it. But be realistic in your expectations. It probably won't be the only vape you'll want or need. Just the battery life, and the inability to change a battery outside the unit is a big limitation (At least for me. )

You should still get a solid vape now.

As for stainless steel vs. Titanium, it's probably just a question of taste versus budget. Personally, I'd get the base model, and upgrade later if I find myself using it regularly. If not, then you've just wasted even more money on a paperweight.

fair point, I think Id just go with the SS as theres really not a good enough reason for the TI and if I really want it in the end I could just grab the TI later on... just gotta try to figure out what to get to start... theres a place next to where I work so I want something they have to get a discount but not sure everything they have. I know they have the phantom(think a little more than I wanna spend) the G pro and a few others I dont remember

@vapebuddy13 Hard to know how much of a difference until someone tries both side by side but the Ti models are supposed to dissipate heat better. If you use it like Buzz and turn it off between draws it'll be a non-issue anyway.

Ti weighs less too but personally I prefer something with a little heft to it. (Although I went with colored Ti anyway figuring why not get the extra emissiveness).

You're probably good with the SS to see how it works out for you. Happy vaping!

I'm glad I have the ti coming, even if it takes a bit longer. The grasshopper is a bit larger than your typical pen/vape, so the reduced weight seems like a benefit to me regardless of the thermal properties.

The opposite of me really, glad I went with the SS, I like heavier devices for some reason...and I still smoke(Many would disagree but its a different effect and some strains work better for me smoked, Alien Kush being one of them) so heat isn't so much the concern for me...:D!

I wonder which one would sit more securely in a bubbler? Maybe a bit of extra weight might be an advantage?

I think I would order the Titanium it's $185. ,now anyway and you get the leather sleeve with that. The price for now starts at $135. for the least expensive pen. What $40 difference. I say go for the more expensive model IMO.

I haven't ordered this yet but the excitement is fun. The excitement is catchy. Probably a month away for some?

I think the most economically rational choice would be the entry level model, as we get most of the benefit, while minimizing our potential loss. But I'm a bit conservative, probably.

Keep in mind that technology is improving. Batteries, microprocessors, materials, etc. And this is a really "young" field which is just on the edge of going mainstream. I hope, and believe, that grasshopper will be remembered and loved as a "classic" product, but maybe not. If not, some of us might regret buying the most expensive version. But, if it is as wonderful as we hope...well, I'll personally gift mine to my mom, and buy a colored Ti version. And maybe another for my wife so we don't have to share. Because spending $40 extra on something that I love and use every day will be worth it.

Not to mention getting e-liquids on the parts of your vape is gross. You basically ruined your honey oil if you use it in a solo for instance.

I very much agree with the last few pages that more than one vape is something any Vaporist should have. I have a few back-ups, and if all else fails I have a dusty Arizer Extreme Q. Buying a solo is probably the safest and most versatile home portable right now. Although I have concerns about the customer service for the Solo now that the Air is out.

I'm really wondering just how durable the GH can be? I sort of hope they don't push it to 45 watts. I'm very curious to see if there are any weak links or if they already worked the kinks out with all the time they've spent on the product post the first release date.

Indeed, My thoughts exactly. I can afford better, but why? It's just the first edition. I'll wait to see what GH can do in a year from now, and new highend unit.

In other news, the GH team should be wrapping up their two week tour in China sometime "today" and coming back to America. If I recall, wasn't there talk about them bringing units back with them to ship out? Maybe another week or two and we'll have more feedback!

500 finished units if I recall correctly, I could be wrong though, all I know is the GH team told me I was in the first big shipment, hope they decide to ship them once they get back, that would be awesome.

Plus if you vape you herb at a high temp with that E-Liquid residue I can see it becoming toxic quickly now that I think about it... :uhoh:
