I'd also like to add that our beloved Buckeye Burls can also have voids in them that have been known to house rattle snakes & other small critters. I do have an order in for 5 big beautiful log blanks due in a few weeks, and also have many more stem/wong blanks for Ed's masterworks (100% guaranteed of course if a problem with a void occurs;)).

On another observation - Ed! You have a great talent for writing ...so expressive and filled with life & interest - I'd love to see you write a book, and even for magazines and newspapers. I know you probably don't have the time right now with all you have going on ...but keep the idea under your hat and let it boil for awhile. I look forward to reading your adventurous novel with the boys and Major and adding to my collection!

Good afternoon everyone, been busy all day long, nothing to do with wood work. Had a couple sickly kids, my 11 year old couldnt go to school today due to his stomach giving him issues. He woke up with a terrible pain and had to go to the dr., my 6 year old got to school and wasnt long after he got there that he too had stomach issues and was crying there in kindergarten. Well I cant have that, ran to school to pick him up and then off to the dr we went, always a great way to spend the day. No sweat though, my 11 year old is kinda sorta a hypochondriac, he lets things bother him sometimes and seems to more or less just have a nervous stomach. I took him to the dr a month ago and they said he needed more fiber in his diet, so we have been giving him fiber gummies every morning since and boy has he gotten regular. Thought maybe this time might have been acid reflux but seems to be just more of a worry wort, the dr told him he had plenty of life to worry and now is not the time, heck he is 11! My 6 year old may have just been worked up about his brother I guess, aint nothing wrong with a day off here or there!

@Snappo So glad to hear about the new stuff you have coming! Hey keep sending them my way and Ill keep on turning them out, I appreciate all you do! On that other note, I thank you so much for your kind words for my writings, as I said I feel at home here at FC and dont mind sharing. You all are family and believe it or not I dont get out much, dont really have much time for it, if I am not working in the shop or hanging with my boys I dont see much need in doing much else other than going to church and I just ordered $2K worth of sound gear to update our house sound, gonna take a day later this week and install that. Watch out yall we are gonna be getting down Sunday! Anyway, your words have really inspired me and I have begun a journal yesterday, I have been needing to do it for a while for my own growth and peace of mind. I am going to start writing in it daily about my happenings and goings on in my life and feelings that I had that day. Who knows maybe one day it may turn into book, short story, or who knows. Thanks again for all you do and have done for me!

@Jokermachine I figured @Snappo would be able to get ya fixed up, that is a stunning piece of wood and I look forward to working it into a stem for you, it will be my pleasure I can assure! Hang in there with me, the wait wont be that bad.

Hey Ed..sorry to hear bout the boys upset tummy..but yano it prob was something they ate while you went out over the weekend...I know I can hardly eat out anymore..some places dont change the oil enuff in fryers etc...bet that was probably what upset their tummys

I have been alternating between glass and eds stems and just put new screens in my Eds stems and omg I really really love the wooden stems..esp since i dont have to put the c clip in all the time since it has Seasoned!!

I talked to Ed this morning about getting a WoG stem for my Underdog - can any Underdog owners comment on the fit of Ed's bushing versus the Underdog bushing; I've been preferring the NoG stem for it's more even vaping.

I love them both! I use my eds bushing for lighter more flavorful hits and I use the WonG with the UD stem for the powerhouse one/two hitter. You can't go wrong either way. I do find myself using the WonG with the UD stem a bit more tho, I love the lung buster hits!

As far as fit they both fit good but eds bushing goes around the heater allowing more air flow/cooler vapor. The UD stem fits inside the heater alowing the heat to be more concentrated producing bigger hits.

Well hello and good morning everyone! All is good down this a way, its starting to dry up and thats a good thing, no more mud! Ok I am gonna cut straight to the skinny, have been quite busy as of late, I have one AA beta stem out to a great guy that has so far so far positive performance results and is giving hell for another week to be certain. Its working out like my solo stems do where you have to bump up the heat setting a notch to get the clouds you are accustomed too. But overall I feel he is happy with it. I have one more AA beta that I made yesterday for my guy @PuffItUp he did me a real solid and I wanted to try and do him one back so I turned this one for him

It went out this morning so I am hoping to hear his thoughts by this weekend. I have here, there and everywhere long enough. I have made some Blackwood Haze Straight stems and have them available through my website and at my shopping cart

I had a great conversation with Ed @Ed's TnT! The man is seriously dedicated to his craft and customers. Keep up the superb work brother it's VERY appreciated! I also finally ordered my African Blackwood Haze MP .... I'm so looking forward to adding this to my collection. Next on my list in the 18mm wong. Then a freakishly expensive custom piece if I can ever get my ideas all together. I have to try and catch up to @NickDlow and his major wood. Cheers all!

Well hello and good morning everyone, have had a busy last couple of days, been trying to knock out custom stuff and hanging with my boys. It has dried out down here finally, Major isnt toting around a bunch of mud caked to his sides, he is just a dust ball now, lol. You can rub his side and just see the dust come out, its funny. I took him with me to town the other day to pick up the boys, he was tired and laying in the front seat, my 11 year old didnt see him when he came up to the door so he got a big smile when he opened it and tried to get in, he said daddy, Major is too big I cant even get in! We had to wrestle him out of the front seat to the back where he just laid out and went to sleep. The grass is really growing around here gotta get the mower out and get that stuff cut down. So much to do! I did reach out to the state crafts center here and got some really great phone #'s to guys that do turning and such. Spoke to a guy wednesday, he is retired and living off of social security which isnt much but he turns great hollow form stuff as well as others, I told him about what I am doing and what I would like to offer him, he was very receptive and said he was interested, even said he had a neighbor that is a wood turner. He lives about an hour south so am going down to meet with him and talk more about what we can do for each other.

@Unisonruss Thanks for your interest in my work! I still have to get them redesigned to where I feel good about them to begin production. Hang in there with me.

@Bvapst Thanks for posting up bro, you are sure to get one when done!

@KidFated. Glad you like that, Randy did me a great thing, I am so very appreciative for what he has done!

Thanks for all the kind words too, you are a good guy and I look forward to your thoughts of my work and hopefully maybe I can get some time and thought to do your project for you. I must also say you got a ways to go to get a jump on @NickDlow I am doing 4 stems for him at this moment and they are simply stunners! You got time bro!

Hi there Ed!

Your work is so inspiring, now I'd like to try my hand at lathing out a few mouthpieces. If only I was stateside - I'd order from you in a pinch!

I've been searching online, yet to find details on the specific taper for 14mm male adapters. My first ever water tool should be arriving in the mail in a few days, haven't been able to measure for myself (can't wait to get chipping). Could you be so kind as to inform me?

Cheers

Whars up Ed, good to hear the weather is getting better somewhere. It's friggin snowing again lol but it's not sticking so it's not too bad. Tho welding in snow last night at work wasn't particularly fun. Especially when snow and 5000 degree thermite slag don't really mix well. It's good to hear things are well my friend. I can't wait to see what you have cookin over there for me. Best wishes to you n yours take care buddy.

Be careful what u wish for @ichibaneye, if you thought VAS was bad, the case of WAS I have is near deadly lol. It's very easy to get carried away with all these phenomenal works of functioning art. Their beauty and craftsman ship are second to none! Ed and everyone else are fantastic. Ed especially is the nicest and most honest person I've come across, as I'm sure you've found out. Doing business with him has been nothing short of a pleasure. I have no doubt you will be nipping at my heels in no time lol. Good luck with your pieces.

Good morning,

@FluffMolotov Hello and thanks for stopping by! I appreciate the kind words! Hmm I just got a glass 14/14mm male glass adapter, the male joint is about an 1"L, I just measure the upper part of the glass joint to get the OD, I measure back 1" on the wood stem and make a mark with a pencil, I measure the smaller end of the glass joint then slowly take off a little with my skew til I get to the right OD. I only take a little at a time and measure quite bit til I get it right, just take it slow, you cant ever put back what you take off. I have done so many now that I do it more or less by eye and where it fits on the tooling. I hope I have been helpful and would like to see what you are able to turn out. Its always great to see anothers work! Enjoy your turning and pls share with me!

@NickDlow I spoke to soon, I hadnt watched the weather for a couple days and yesterday evening when I finally did wow here e go again, supposed to be another wet week the whole entire 5 days, not cool! Thanks for all the kind words you mentioned to @ichibaneye its been my pleasure working with you! You have given me alot of work and joy making your pieces. I really enjoy seeing your pics with all the wood you have acquired, its great to be a part of it!

Hey, been enjoying my Solo granadillo wooden stem for a while now. I'm still playing with the heat settings to see which I prefer best. I know it's a subjective opinion but curious to hear what Solo settings you all prefer for pure flavor extraction (with a tad of wooden goodness ;))? Anyway, keep up the good work @Ed's TnT! Hope to invest in a Wong shortie soon. Hope everyone is having a easy, laid back Sunday.

Depending on strain. I like to start at 3 and work my way up.
Sometimes I'll just set to like 5or6 just start hitting as soon as second Lt lights up.
To be honest I haven't figured anything out .Just having a lot of fun in the name of science of course!! Enjoy

My bad Ed I'm so vaked. I would never post here without saying hey. For some reason I thought I was in solo thread.
Woke up this morning can't get the thought of wood out of my head. Not WAS I think I'm going to try my hand at whittling maybe down the line a lathe. Being disabled I need a new hobby!!
Maybe I can find my calling.

Hello,

@Ital meditation Really glad to hear you are still digging your piece bro! Thats what I like to hear, I appreciate the kind words! As far as temp settings I would always run mine from 5-7 most of the time, I am more of a cloud chaser myself being as how what is available here in my neck of the woods isnt really rich in flavor for the most part. It just is what it is and thats how it be!

@Melting Pot Wow a lathe would be a great idea bro! Just working mine is very therapeutic, the time and worry is just lost when I am on it. I get caught up in what I am doing, concentrate on my thoughts of what I am trying to accomplish and when you get it just where you want it the reward is so great. As with the rewards comes the heartache as well, I have trashed so many absolutely amazing pieces that have just broken my heart and left me stomping and cussing! Sometimes no matter what I do, how slow I go, no matter how sharp my chisels are crap happens and just arent meant to be. Its such a wonderful feeling when it does work out and when you get to wax it, buff and polish it and then send it on for someone to see it for the first time. Many times I wish I could be there when you all get those little bubble mailers and open em up to see what I have been blessed to create, if I could send a film crew to video this I would give anything! I think you should and if you wanna talk about it just give me a holla, Id be happy to help if you let me!
