Don't be, I get them from time to time on longer sessions, in the upper temp ranges and this Crafty is under 12 hours. Haven't seen it in a while though, but mostly because I start at 175 now.

I wonder if S&B will ever update the firmware to have maybe a triple click a 3rd temp?

I would just like to be able to have a slider bar in the app that lets me increase the time before the auto-shut-off kicks on. Nothing too long, I don't want to hurt the unit. Just to maybe 2 minutes. 1 minute , while practical, is pretty annoying.

39 hours, CY0012XX unit, 4 months use as daily driver.

Battery at half capacity took 2:26 to reach 180C

Once battery is down to 2 bars, the performance drops, I try and charge mine whenever it's convenient so I don't get down to that point. I hook mine up immediately after some sessions, eventually it must start charging because it's fully charged when I come back to it 2-3 hours later. I don't really ever use the app so I don't know if it's yelling at me about temperatures or whatever. I vape 2/3 of the time at 185C and the rest at 210C.

I try and fully drain the battery at least twice a month or whenever I forget to charge it the night before :D

Got it. Awesome. What you guys packing? 0.3? 0.015 with the oil thing?

Also do you guys think unplugging it when not in use and on full charge (solid blue) is best or doesnt matter?

Oh and how fine do you guys like your herbs? On a scale of basically powder to massive chunks?

Personally i fill mine up (i never weigh just enjoy) i have tried the pad just because i could and it works great (same output just lasts less) but i have hungry lungs:rofl:Can finish a full bowl in less time than heat up.

As far as unplugging, the crafty will have protection (charge cut-off so it doesn't go BOOM) inside so it shouldn't matter, but i always unplug mine anyways when full, this is more to do with habits i have got into using other devices using the same kind of battery, where most cases of things going wrong were when charging rather than when in use but i NEED to stress that this was when charging externally not inside a unit. IMO the crafty is as safe to charge/use as a mobile phone as its the same/similar battery tech used so treat them the same.

And grind i would say anything bigger than powder, if you have a 4 piece that will work fine, if using the crafty grinder just a turn or two should be enough but moisture will play a part here, if using powder/Kief i would put a few larger bits on bottom and top just to keep things tidy.

Yeah I seem to prefer a semi packed full chamber so far, good stuff to know I can treat it like a mobile phone in regard to battery. I definitely feel like I've found a good grind texture although I am in the process of drying out my moist herbs a little so I might try a finer grind next.

This thing is great.

Thanks @BuzzDanklin for reposting @Vapologist video! I assume it will be possible to replace the battery ourselves? Surely there will be some easy after market replaceables. Nice to know!

I use a medium coarse grind.... i'm liking a coarse grind for all of my vapes these days. I tried switching out the stock screen for a finer one, but found it killed airflow too much for my liking. It wasn't bad, but definitley noticeable. I also found with the finer screen that it wasn't as harsh and tasted better.

Looks like it could be possible to replace the battery with a sharp knife to remove wrap and maybe a soldering iron, the question would be if removing the battery causes anything to need to be reset? Think someone would have to try to find out, something i will probably try once warranty is up but thats a while yet only racked up 2 hours so far.

Great video! But i do feel a little dirty, only known her for 2 hours and I've already seen her naked.:o

I usually don't weigh, but I did a few times. In my usage, I'm at .05 half bowl, and .2 full bowl. I grind my herbs to powder, I find it gives me the thickest and longest lasting bowls. When my herbs are not ground as fine, I always get less out of the bowl.

It's all about surface area for max vaporization.

Awesome! I'm finding really good use out of the little plug in the filling aid. It's like my old cone piece lol. My buds aren't the dryest, I've smashed them through a grinder then had to hand cut with scissors so it's hard to get anywhere near powder atm. Going to dry out a few and try some finer bowls.

If the Crafty just had a replaceable battery like a common TV remote control, but with a much nicer door and lock mechanism, it would be truly perfect.

It seems the Crafty's 2700 Mah German batteries have slightly less capacity, around 25% less than the best, which I research to be the 3400 Mah unprotected Panasonic NCR18650B - they are both 10 amp max discharge. Correct me if I'm wrong. I replaced my Pax's battery with a NCR18650B in 2013.

I love my Crafty, 18 hours and going. I also just purchased a Plenty, which I would liken to a bong if my crafty is likened a pipe. (PS the Plenty has the standard large size slide and works great as a slide in a clean water pipe)

The Plenty can crush a crowd of 6-8 people in just under ten minutes. The Crafty, probably 4 people max - but it conserves a little better than the Plenty. Z Germanz!

Hey all! This is my last day with my Crafty... It will be in good hands with a friend who will be able to afford changing batteries every few months and shipping to Germany. It was the best vape ride ever and I will still have some sessions from time to time. I wish you all the best as I am leaving for greener, more sustainable and more economic pastures (vapes)... :)
