i will leave it as it is guess. i've noticed, that sometimes there is a tiny blue flame for a brief moment, is it still part of the charring-in process?

Go gently and slowly - patience is the key...

When you're done sanding, put your lips over the golden bowl (without the middle section) and blow hard. - this will force out any dust that may have gotten in the tubes while sanding.

Then clean it with a dry cotton rag or old t-shirt and repeat the blowing exercise.

But I believe that Chippy is right and you don't really need to do this. It's just for looks and you might as well just clean it with the rag.

Also, for those who have bought a charred vapman from me: most of the smoke is from the oil + beeswax finish and not from the wood. You may be able to tell from the sweet smell of the oil compared to the burnt wood smell.

But after a bit, the smoke stops and the pre-charred surface stays very stable.

I don't remember if I've mentioned that I also char the bottom of the middle section - the part hidden by the stainless steel filter. This makes it more fire and heat resistant, and I Do Not oil that part at all,since it's not visible and not needed.

People can't believe how old my main 2 vapman are when they look at them. They are both charred pear basics.

I really like the simple, sleek look of the charred basics, but then, I also like the Steampunk look of the Classic/Mica with the screws and shield. So hard to make up my mind!

Hi, l picked up a Vapman some weeks ago and there is a crack now....it is still fully usefull but l'm afraid the crack continue and break my device, it's a basic, maybe my issue is too much heat since I use it most part of the time with concentrates....

It's not the vape I use the more but I love it for a quick and powerfull session!

So let's get this straight.. . . one year warranty and @vapman has never once had a customer use a basic model vapman so heavily that it actually splits apart. . . .

Does this sound like a challenge to you? Because it does to me! Ha!

These sheets present an archaeological enigma because they have been traced to mica deposits in Brazil, over two thousand miles away from central Mexico.

@Don Quixote Now that you and ChippyMalone are tracking me down scientifically, I have to admit that I was lying when I said that there was some kind of magic involved when I created vapman. This was only to cover up what really happened back then, your are on a hot track now and I am not saying anything more about it because you wouldn`t believe it anyway! :lol:

BTW, have you ever looked at a Stupa, the Tibetan Buddhist shrines, some of them look very much like a giant vapman. This may help me to get you off the hot track.

How do you clean the wood mouthpiece? (for clarity, not the center piece) - do you just run a pipe cleaner through them? Should you run an acetone dipped pipe cleaner through them every once in a while? Or is it best to leave it alone, uncleaned?

I twist some toilet paper up and press it through once every few weeks, or with a complementary hot water wash. That's it. But it doesn't help against the smell.

Does that work well? I know toilet paper seems to be the best for the abv plastic mouthpiece. It seems like a pipe cleaner would be better for the wooden mouthpiece, it's not totally smooth like the plastic so the toilet paper could leave a little paper residue trail behind if it breaks at all. Also washing with hot water works for the abv plastic mouthpiece but not the wood. It should not be washed with water because, especially on unfinished wood, it gets in the grain and it will make it eventually rot. I know acetone can be used to clean wood, but only every once in a while. So is the pipe cleaner the best option or a nylon brush, or do most people not clean it? I'm wondering if I should buy some pipe cleaners or nylon brush for this purpose?

@Don Quixote very interesting Theory regarding the genesis of life and the possible involvement of mica minerals, I like reading about such approaches. And then @vapman comes up with the picture of Michelangelo and creation of Adam while heating the vapman and the idea of Buddhist shrines as an inspiration for the vapman shape, ...aliens ans Ufos seem also to be involved :uhh:

Hmmmm if I would be vulnerable to delusional ideas I would think there is something cooking. :suspicious:

I only have the Plastic mouthpeace, but I sometimes clean the inner part of the middelsection with toilet paper too, and when I clean it right after a session when it's warm, no paper residue is left. So perhaps you could warm up the wooden mount peace on a radiator for a while, then I think the paper will slide easily through the mouth peace without sticking

@bounce5 I generally don't bother cleaning inside the wood. I remove and torch the ss filter that's it. If it ever gets to the point of being clogged i'd just use a toothpick to scrape and a firm blow to clear I reckon.

If you torch the SS filter it comes out clean as before?

Today was the first day in I think 6 months or so.I didn't go running over to my E-nano my Vapman is taking care of my flower business and as soon as I receive concentrate screen Sr-71 look out
I can definitely tell I'm going to need a few more of these .What's the deal on @Snappo exotic vapman????

I'm a huge Vapman fan but my experience has been that the SR-71 is superior for taste on concentrates.
