Discontinued Thermovape Cera

They are out of business. I overheard they sold some of their patents to big tobacco RJR. I wasn't around too, but have been using the Persei with the herc 74x. It is awesome and delivers flavor. My suggestion to you is buy the omicron lite with a ti gr2 kiss cart or globe (both are awesome) at 3.7v. It is my favorite portable setup for concentrates
I'm using a source orb dab pen now, I just want somthing that is alittle but more quality and allows you to take bigger dabs. That's why I was looking into the persei

My EO cart died and now I tried to rebuild but I can't even get the bottom off, has anyone built a coil with the ceramic doughnuts they have for ecigs? Is there anyone on earth that can rebuild this EO Cart?

Ive figured out how to service mine just would be interested in info on the ceramic " wafers/donuts". Went and got the smallest allen wrench set i could find and a file set and filed the smallest one down to fit the 4 set screws. That removes the core. I replaced the battery contact screw with a pan faced philips screw for better contact. Also replaced the set screws with philps head ones for easier maintenance. Also redesigned the coil wrap so its easier to replace and the wafers/donuts can be easily removed/maintaned. Everything i needed other than the wire i found at ace hardware.

Did you notice much difference after changing the contact screw?

What wire? The one that heats up? Do you know specifically what kind of wire you're using? Is it safe to use for vaping?

edit: nevermind I read that wrong, you found everything BUT the wire at the store.

You won't find the ceramic bits, IIRC they were privately sourced from another company.

I think its totally pathetic that no company has really replaced this niche market still. I miss thermovape every day. The W9 stuff didn't end up cutting it for me for the same old reasons in the end. I traded it all away for an oil rig lol.

I don't understand really, is there just not a market for healthy concentrate vapes that just work? Is EVERYONE ok with the burnt taste of oil pens?

I basically only use concentrates at home, or in the MOST stealth of situations. I'm tired of "dabbing" off of various kinds of hot wires. I was tired of having to adjust and re-assemble my persei every time I wanted to use that.

Are there any options out there yet that I might have missed that are similar to thermovape? It ALL seems like china shit quality to me and I really want a high end portable oil vape :/

Im new so bare with me. Dont know how to put in your responses.
To hoptimum, i noticed that, with the screw they had, it was pitting where it contacted the switch. Then, eventually, it stopped working. I had to fiddle with it to get it to work. Still it was intermittent. Once i switched that, i never had a problem with t heating up so long as everything else was connected. One other thig i had to do is since the screw tapers down, i had to replace the little ceramic washer with a nylon bushing(ceramic one broke and cant find replacements). Not the best but, for now, it work. No ill taste that i can tell. It hits like a champ now.
That sucks about the ceramic pieces. With the way i didnt the resistance wire inside, im hoping that they just dont break when im cleaning them. Otherwise should last a lifetime.

Can we please stop using "china" as a slur against quality? Almost everything is made in China now and not all of it is poor quality by any means. If you are equating China with poor quality, then you're surrounded by shit products whether you like them or not.

I get the point (I think) and generally agree, but here I think it may be a valid counter point? Thermo Vape took great pride in "made in USA" and went to great efforts to use the best possible materials for each task, no matter the cost.

While much good stuff comes from China, in this case I can't think of an example of this philosophy in play there? We should not use this new found Asian slur indiscriminately for sure, any more than the similar 'Japanese' slurs of the past. We sure changed our minds there, didn't we? After a demonstrable turn around in quality that put our car makers (and others) to shame and got them playing 'catch up ball'.

I, for one, see good in the 'made in USA' and insistence in best materials and processes despite the cost in this case. I lament their demise and wish we had more such pioneers in the game. They offered us more choices in the market, IMO a good thing.

Yeah Pak I don't mean everything from China is bad, but the American made quality on the thermovape REALLY was visible. I'm typing this on my beloved mechanical keyboard from china on my more than likely chinese made monitor.

I just mean in this case it was clearly different. The ceramic for example. That seems to be hard to find a replacement to, since no one else has done it. If you get a piece of ceramic mass produced in china do you think its going to be up to the same quality standards? I have about 3 "ceramic bowl" vaporizer pens. That ceramic sure as hell tastes a lot worse than whatever the secret ceramic thermovape had.

No offense meant. I like DHgate glass and everything. I don't care where it comes from, as long as its high quality. If there was a Chinese manufacturer with fully functional clones of TET products I'd be all over it. It just so happens that all the Chinese knockoffs of their product are total shit and don't even follow the same basic design or usage, just a visually similar knockoff. Then you get into the whole part about worrying about who is overseeing what. Say you get that nice new Chinese thermovape clone in, how do you know what materials are inside? Is there ANY kind of regulation there on that kind of thing? I know here in the USA if a company claims to be ROHS complient, and isn't they can suffer some serious fines and legal action. If your Chinese pen you got off of alibaba (that is already an illegal counterfeit ignoring patents etc) is found to have a dangerous material in it, then what? Who can you call? Are you going to call the factory on the other end of the world and speak (in Chinese) and see if they care?

While I 100% agree that something being made in China doesn't make it bad or shitty by default, sometimes its nice to see other countries there? I certainly enjoy the American made and German made things I own and seem to generally feel a higher build quality and attention to detail. Beyond that it also means I can get in touch with customer support relatively easily.

I think we all know that there have been plenty of "Made in USA" products that were complete crap. It's just a stamp of origin, it's by no means a stamp of quality. TET took steps to produce the highest quality but that's a characteristic of the company and not the country of origin. Anyway, I didn't mean to start a debate here about the merits of Made in USA. Anyone who wants to continue this line is free to start a thread in the Lounge.

I took out the 'ol loose leaf cart for a spin yesterday. I got the Orbiter a few months back, and in all this time I'd never used the Cera with a water tool… I've been telling myself that I'm not gonna use the cart anymore unless I can get my hands on some good bubble, seeing as that's an experience that's still on my "Cera to-do list".

Using it with water was a real treat, too. I'm sure gonna miss this one when it gives up the ghost. Anybody else have one that's still kicking?

Don't use LL much, but still chuggin' along on my multiple EO collection! I own 2 Cera's (one has a bad strap:huh:). I have been contemplating trying to machine a SS tube with the same specs as the Cera body.....

i just enjoyed a tasty LL bowl:) boy its still one of the more tasty vape experiences. I have a brand new LL core and 1 still working like new plus 2 working EO carts that have been babied with the good gold ;) i have a luna that the EO cart could use a torch clean. Unfortunately the cera EO carts wont work on the luna so once i fuck that luna cart up I'll pass her on to OF:) i think he'll be able to give her a good second life. You have a few luna carts huh OF? :)

I was into the persei and stuff but I found myself always throwing money at the latest and greatest trying to recreate the cera experience. I had to rebuild it basically every use too for some reason. It was close, but not the same to me.

Someone needs to fill the gap.

hello!

I am new here because i'am looking for a good (the best) vape pen. I mainly intend to use it with the LL for kef and weed, but also OE cart for concentrates.

I know ThermoVape definitely closed, however the Cera seems to be the best portable vaporizer and it is possible to find it for a good price on the net.

I'm not looking for huge clouds but still need to see some "smoke" out of my mouth ... But what I especially research is a pure taste and zero combustion! I am very interested in the Sublimator but it is more expensive and above all it is not portable. So my choice is focused on the Cera.

I'm not very good in English so I'm struggling to understand everything when I read you ... I want to know if the Cera is reliable enough, i saw that we can find a lot of individual parts on the net (diferents cartridge, mouthpieces etc) but buy a product at that price without warranty makes me a little scared ... However it really seems to be above the others!

Apologize for my bad english...

I would not buy it at this point. It is likely to fail and it is impossible to rebuild currently.

Where are you finding ThermoVape cera parts still for sale though? That's the first I've heard of that.
