What are you Soloist vaping tonight in your Solos? My fav in the Vortex stem a bit of the grape - GrapeApe such good flavor in mine a grape and berry taste. I also have something called Pitbull that has a citrus and lavender, sweet taste. it's an awesome Indica too.

Stayed home from work with a stomach bug feeling better now.

The glass isnt put up tho Its still early and three glass peices within reach......

Do you have any LHS near you? They typically carry them. Ebay too.

Ehhh, i just made a make shift adapter made out of a small piece of toilet paper and a bunch of tape

awww yeah son, its working now :)
will make an even better mkeshift one in the future
Rubber bands work as well. A small piece of silicone tubing? It comes in handy, you should get some. Did your water pipe come in 18mm?

That's what you want, it makes 18mm accept 14mm.

I went to a dispensary today and my friend was behind the counter! Was nice to see her, she gave me a 20% discount so I gave her a tip. She recommended this Firewalker OG, Fire OG x Skywalker. It's got that classic musky piney OG and a light fruity sweet finish from the Skywalker. She hit the mark with it, intricate taste at level 2 and it's a great indica. The buds are dense and small but break up well in my Santa Cruz Shredder. I was talking to somebody else earlier about how amazing the range of tastes in cannabis is. From stuff that smells like feet to fragrances that make me want to eat it raw, and it's still the same plant!

I pack the stem to where nothing is hanging out, then give it a tap down in your palm to jar any loose material out, then insert it. Go through your session, pull it out, suck out the oven, tap stem to empty, blow out any remaining material. doing this keeps everything like new, I have absolutely no staining in the oven, and no clogged holes.

That's exactly what I have been doing, and its been working well. I was just curious.

The range in taste is amazing, I'm just realizing this also. I picked up some purple kush yesterday and it tasted awsome. I normally get og strains or bubba (my favorite) but since I've had my solo I've been "experimenting" with other strains.

Yep as QuetzalcoatlS said, eBay. If you're in the US there'll be plenty available on there locally. I'm not, so I had it shipped to aus from eBay China.

I'll of course be getting a stopper eventually but I find an 18mm M2M adapter works well for now :) just block with thumb/finger then lift off to clear

Right now the Vortex is my fav. Still like Ed's stems. I have a couple of wooden pieces I use with my Solo. I have a 3 inch WonG that i use for a mouthpiece, it's a very beautiful piece. It has a turquoise inlay.

I prefer right now using the Vortex stem, it just works so well. It has the extended airflow so the vapor is cooled. It's less harsh using the higher temperatures. And it does an excellent job of extracting the goodies from your herb.

You know there are times where we need an @Ed's TnT wooden mouthpiece.

I need an extended air path with my Air so I use the vortex stem or one of my PVHES mouthpieces. I have just been using my Vortex stem with my Solo since I got it.

It's also very easy to clean with a bit of ISO, I just use a qtip in the bowl area. Just make sure the screen doesn't get clogged so it won't restrict the air flow. The thicker glass is awesome far as breakage goes. It does take an extra minute to heat up but it's worth the wait.

You will have to decide if you think $28 is too much for such a mouthpiece. I don't think it is IMO.

Happy Friday everybody. We made it through the workweek.:leaf::peace:

Give thanks. Looks like I need to check out the Vortex then. I'm more of a taster than cloud-chaser so the extended airflow sounds intriguing. Sensitive to harsh vapor. Live in Europe so hoping the shipping isn't too costly. Had some blue cheese with the Solo last night. Oweeee!!!

If you are gonna order one, lemme know how much shipping and EU tax it was?

I'm going to have to agree with carolking about the vortex. It is seriously thick. Reminds me of the nano draw glass stem. I buy all my glass accessories from PlanetVape because they have good quality.

I got this bud that tastes like spearmint and cotton candy bubble gum in the vape right now. 15 an eighth and sooo good.

Can someone direct me toward that one guy that makes GonG attachments btw?
I'm either getting a custom gong or just a 18mm pvhes gong, by next month

Planetvape an FC sponsor sells the GonG attachments for the Solo. Its a popular item they get them in stock then they sell out fast. Keep checking on them often if they are sold out. @Ed's TnT sells WonGs /mouthpieces made of wood for the Solo. He does a wonderful job with the wood.

Check the bottom of the page for PLanetvape's website.

Got some White Rhino in the Vortex this evening. I usually heat the stem up a temp higher than what I want then I turn it back down after the first draw. I heat to 6 then turn down to heat level 5, I continue using the Solo on temp 5. Towards the the end of my session I crank the heat back up to 6 until the Solo shuts off. You will find what works best for you.

PV says they will be coming out with a Vortex GonG and a bent stem version. They only have the straight stem last time I checked. They could be sold out now.

Over the falls, in a barrel
Out of all the vapes I own, I've posted in this one's thread the least. I want to set that straight: this vape is great.

I lurked for hundreds of pages before getting my own open-box unit from PIU, and in my experience the vape and vendor have both lived up to the extensive praise that precedes them. Solid.

Not to mention Pipes' Afterthoughts Accessories AIO+ kit! (Would that be 'triple AIO+'?) I was pushed into picking one up when my charger died, and I quickly realized I should have ordered mine as soon as I got the Solo in the first place. A high-back charging stand with a mounting kit, o-ring, PA, charger, card adapter… Suddenly my open-box Solo was rolling in serious style…

I got the chance to show off the Solo to some vapor newbies recently, and they were very impressed. I made sure to point out the stand; "Oh, and this part here? That's custom…"

A stop by PV and Ed's TnT in order next. The Solo accessory market is too vibrant to not explore… And a slick GonG solution would be nice. In the mean time, I've found that Magic-Flight whips (with MF stems inserted) mate perfectly with my glass Arizer stems. This lets me use the Solo with the Orbiter very easily!

This next stem of OG Kush is for All Y'all… :peace:

I broke my D-020 :( so I have been using my bent stem. I gotta put in a screen so I don't use 200-250 mgs at a time. I have tried mixing it with ABV and that works well, and surprisingly it doesn't seem to affect the taste, but maybe it doesn't matter as much in a vape that vapes like the solo? I have been using bud I have vaped until there is pretty much no taste left. I am considering trying out some trim.

I am thinking of getting a nice j-hook and try one of them out. But I have been using it dry and most of the time right side up for nearly a month or so now and no issues in the oven, and none over the past year using it upside down, haven't had to clean it. But I only go through maybe an oz a year or so.

I think I will 'vacuum' it out as described though, a buddy busted up some really dry buds which basically turned into powder and thinking about it, I wouldn't be surprised if some did get in there. No hamster style with noobs, but he did notice the stem was loose which was a good observation and I told him to be cautious because it will fall out for sure when it is warm. My bottom plate finally cracked around a screw after a year, but that's pretty good. I don't use an o-ring and just left the screws be.

Really happy because a buddy is gonna try and get one ordered this coming week. I had him bookmark puffitup. It all started when I tried to interject it into conversations, then I turned down a joint and said how smoking is wasteful, stinky, clings to your clothes, and it's not good to smoke anything and that all I do is vape. Then next time I saw him he asked to use the vape, so we did. Now he calls me every few days to have a vape session. :) That right there is worth the cost of a new bubbler and the extra weed to share! So happy! Finally getting to use it portable too.

Is there any difference in performance with the o-ring in? Am I missing something? Maybe more airflow directly through the herb since there is a tighter seal? I think OF wrote that it is simply just there to keep it from swiveling so much.

EDIT:

Amazing evening passed at an friend's house. She and I haven't seen each other in an age and she had exciting news. My friend just started working at one of SW Washington's fine legal recreational cannabis shops. They are letting her try the Solo (so she can speak from experience on vaping the product when customers ask about non-combustion methods). She thought I would like to give it a go and I of course agreed.

I have read repeatedly that it's not so easy to stealthily use it as a portable, so I was a little surprised by how small it was irl. The solo she's got has both the straight and the bent stems to play with, we all agree we prefer the bent. It may be a result of how she filled the stem, but the draw resistance was more that I'd like. However that's the only complaint I had. It fit my hand (felt like a tiny light saber), the stem was comfortable to use (quite a bit more substantial than the stem of an Ascent) and I was definitely medicated. <3 We kept it about a four and made a half dozen little clouds each.

I would definitely consider the solo if I were in need of a new battery op unit.

I don't really dig shops that much, but every one I go into I try to find 'budtenders' who vape. Generally they say they vape concentrates. Still haven't found one that vapes flowers and when they ask what type of vape I have they usually mention an expensive one that blows bags (but is still a decent vape of course). We all know that vaped vs smoked are different, and maybe our tastes are different and more refined than smokers. To me the quality of herb speaks for itself in a vaporizer.
