Handling and storing different types of concentrates.

Thanks to those who advised me on how to store my shatter and scrape my chico correctly.

Just need a little help with my most recent Canadian delivery.

Its so soft and sticky, I had to put in the freezer for 30 seconds just so I could separate the parchment paper. I don't know if I was supposed to do that.

I scraped a tiny dab off but felt I was ruining it, I am such a nubian with concentrates.

Ok so now I'm extremely high and have no idea how to handle/store this wonderful tasty goo.

Would love to hear how you all get it on the dabber, transfer it from paper to jar/pot. Do you chill or freeze? With all the different kinds of oils and waxes I bet there is some useful info I am lacking.

Seriously, I don't even know what end of the dabber I should be using.

I normally freeze mine, and store it in a freezable mini lunch bag when on the go. Just keep it on the paper and put the paper inside, its very hard getting the oil off the glass in comparison to the parchment paper.

I don't see the specific one I have on their website anymore but it looks like this;

Currently housing 3 syringes, and two 2 dab containers when folded.

Fold the parchment paper with the concentrate in it. Put them in your Jyarz folded up. It's easiest to work off parchment paper.

Runnier stuff like yours (which I currently have) if I need to get a lot into a container I will freeze it inside parchment paper just so it becomes harder. Then break it into pieces so I can fit it into a silicone container. Silicone containers are the way to go IMO.

I have never dabbed from a syringe but I would love to just squeeze some into the nail!

i think Oil Slick slick stacks are your best bet. dont even mess with other MFGs of these silicone containers. only the Oil Slick brand has been oonch tested to be 100% platinum cured silicone. other COs use filler of which is bad.

i DO however use a "wax wallet" and love it. i dont know how it does regarding the pinch test because im not sure if im doing it properly, but its VERY hand little container that intake everywhere.

oh and the cannvault is another option. i believe those may be platinum cured as well.

I just saw these glass syringes the other day and was wondering what they could be used for. That would be a cool use. Although it would probably be a huge mess and get stuck. I have only seen concentrates in a syringe once and don't remember much about the consistency so I don't know.

Silicone containers are the way to go. If you have a lot of it, you can using a backing silicone mat.

How do you store concentrates for long term? I picked up enough to last a month because of the quality and price, and was wondering if I should keep it in the 1) fridge in my jyarz satchmo or use my vacuum sealer for food and 2) vacuum seal it in a foodsaver plastic bag or 3) vacuum seal my mason jar? All options will have the wax kept in parchment paper.

What do you guys do? Which would you choose from my 3 options? Appreciate the feedback.

vacuum sealing is cool, but not necessary IMO. at least not for just a month. i keep my errl (i keep a months worth also) in slick stacks. and they sit in an air tight jar. the kind with the seal and latch type of closure. it actually came with the slick stacks. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00KSKZEQC/ref=pd_aw_sim_k_5?refRID=147DTSHPW8XBZKC6CHSX

and then i just keep it in a cool, dark, and dry place. fridge not needed IMO.

of the options you mentioned above... id just use your jyarz and keep it in a cool dark spot.

For those who live in humid places, would placing a small desiccant(boveda pack perhaps?) in the jar with the shatter prevent it from turning into pull n snap/wax? Could this accelerate the evaporation of concentrate's constituents?

I seriously doubt it would make a difference. AFAIK temperature more than humidity causes the concentrate to degrade.

I just wrap in parchment paper and let it sit wherever. If it starts getting too goopy for me because it's getting hot out or whatever, I just toss the parchment in the freezer for a few minutes.... take it back out and just how it was.

It's a lot easier having dabs in the winter that's for sure.
