Are the dhgate ones a quality product that won't leak or anything?
Sometimes it seems it's all a role of the dice....
Wow. talk about words coming back to bite me in the ass:evil::mad::bang:!!!
I received my FC-710 yesterday. After a quick water test I noticed something was off. Upon closer inspection I noticed a pin hole in one of the welds:disgust:.

Sorry about filming it in "portrait" like a dumb ass:p

You might be able to heat that with a torch and get it to seal. I cant promise you it wont break when it cools down since you dont have a kiln to put it in but thats a REALLY trivial repair.. like hit it with a hand torch until the hole seals and toss it in the kiln or melt a little more glass in there if that doesnt seal it. I wouldnt do anything until you contact the seller tho.

On another note, we talked about a reclaim dropdown a while back and I posted a picture of my design. @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd has made one! Here is the picture of the finished product.

If any of you are interested, you can contact him directly. I thought the price was more than fair.

Hey all. I just ordered an e nano vape. I'm a bit of an old head and am not super familiar with how all the adapters and stuff work. Id like to find a cheap easy to use water attachment to use with it. Preferably nothing to big. If anyone who owns this vape has any suggestions Id really appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

Basically, there are two types of fittings - female and male. The ground glass is a hint at which is which - ground glass on the outside is a male fitting, ground glass inside is a female. There are two sizes - 14mm and 18mm. I find typically, a majority of glass we discuss on this thread either has a 14mm male fitting, or an 18mm female fitting.

I suggest you buy something with a female fitting. This is a good beginner piece that you would probably love:

Once you have glass, you will need to purchase a waterpipe adapter for your vaporizer (every vaporizer is different, very few use the same adapter). You can purchase an 18mm enano Waterpipe adapter here: http://epicvape.com/shop/index.php?route=product/category&path=62_64 (or you can contact @VaPeD&CoNfUsEd and order a custom adapter)

Fuck that run to Wal-Mart or wherever get some aquarium silicone, the clear kind, slide some over the crack and wait till it dries and hit it! I've repaired and saved 3pieces with it. The silicone does have a horrible smell when wet but when it dries its non-existent

Edit: I just broke that last Kathy Egg. It's just too fragile. No fixing it either. It broke the same way as the others did. It doesn't have any braces on the perc/downstem. I'll buy another one today regardless because the little guy hits!

I am confused. What is the difference between the egg at http://www.dhgate.com/store/product/2015-feb-newest-glass-bong-9-quot-inches/229098432.html and the one at http://www.dhgate.com/product/2015-newest-glass-bong-9-inches-skull-water/231618455.html and this one too http://www.dhgate.com/product/fab-egg-mothership-glass-water-pipe-double/231721626.html ? These all look the same and the last two links look like exactly the same thing but it is different links. I am confused by dhgate's site. I keep seeing references to these in the comments with the various links. The cheaper one is sold by Kathy which I want to avoid based on people's experience here.

Dang sorry to hear that about your Kathy egg! How'd it break? Too much weight from the EVO?

I just ordered a few the other day. I'm hoping this new batch Kathy has is a little less fragile!

No the Evo didn't break it. The piece is top heavy if touched hard or bumped, the base should be wider. I Did the latter and it tilted over on the table and broke.

If a hardware store happens to be closer, most of them will sell silicone caulk; it will work the same. I used to build DIY bongs with it. It's ideal for this purpose because once it cures it's waterproof, heatproof, non-toxic and doesn't give off an odor. In any case, seconding the "seal it with silicone" solution.

Thanks just ordered it!

Same here! I hope it is a good one :)

That makes sense. The honeycomb egg from Kathy is kind of the same. I figured this might be the case too. Oh well.

I ordered the female joint fab egg from kaite2012 so hopefully this one is better. Looks like it should be :)

I tried putting my dropdown and enail on my Kathy egg and it wouldn't stand.
Yep I didn't think it would hold an enail since the honeycomb egg doesn't either. Thanks for confirming!

However I have gotten my honeycomb egg to work great with a couple of my nails if I set the coil up like this, placing the straight bar close to the rig, so maybe it will work with this new Kathy egg?

oh man it's so late but the discovery of this thread, I can't stop looking...

any advice on a nice piece for an herbalaire? I'm just looking for the biggest smoothest hits, aesthetics come second. I'm also going to be getting a lotus to use as well, and wouldn't mind using it for combustion. The G-186 seems to be really nice, but I was hoping for something more aesthetically pleasing (wouldn't sacrifice smoothness and size however). Does an ice catcher make a big difference for vapes?

Looking forward to my first real glass piece!

one important thing to note with HA is that it has a large base. on a lot of regular bubblers, this means the HA base will be right in your face and you'd need to turn your head to hit it. so for the HA i'd recommend something where this isn't a problem, like the sidecar FC-187 or GB-187-S, or something with a small second perc like the D022.

OK, so that GL Ash Catcher I got from Mendocino didn't work for what I was trying for, but after using it last night for a while I DO like it for a casual hit or two. It just doesn't allow for enough water to cool the smoke significantly, which is what I was after. It feels good, tho, like when I smoked a tobacco pipe when I was younger. And it has a good grip for my hand.
So, while not exactly what I wanted I think I will still enjoy it. :)

I need some help. I had no idea this was so complicated. Can someone just give me an overview summary of what the different options are all about?

What I really want is something small and inexpensive (but a little nicer than my current sippy cup) to use with my soon to be new Grasshopper. I just want to cool down the vapor a little before hitting my insides.

What is honeycomb vs. finger? Do I want an ash catcher (for vaping?)? Is in-line better than not in-line? What is the purpose of diffusion? What is the difference between a bong vs. bubbler vs perculator? Can I use ones that say they do oil and nails?

I feel like I am at Starbucks. "I'll have a in-line bubbler with a double honeycomb perculator and a 14.5 mm ash catcher please; hold the foam."

I also want something that is easy to clean without a lot of fuss.

Any general wisdom on these subjects would be appreciated.

Unfortunately like most things, wisdom comes through experience. There are no real shortcuts, only more threads to read.

I tried to do my due diligence and searched this and other threads but short of reading all 600 pages what I saw didn't help with what I don't know. Most everyone seems to know what they are talking about when they throw these terms around. All we used to have was a straight up bong, often made in an apple juice bottle. Thanks anyway.

We've all been through the same thing. You just have to keep reading, watching videos, looking at pictures until things make sense to you. @Hoops link is a good start.

Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

@Ratchett beat me to it again, but GB-187 is a great piece most seem to like. I really enjoy mine with the nano.

If you didn't remember to order an 18mm GonG attachment with your nano - get in touch with them soon and add it on. Once you have that, there are MANY options on here to choose from.
