The Arizer Air

Veteran Solo owner here and that puppy is still going strong after 4 years and thousands of sessions probably over that period of time. Just learned about the Air thanks to a email from Vapeworld. Looks awesome and I'm gonna scoop one up.

What's the deal with Massdrop? Are those being sold by Arizer? Almost pulled the trigger on ebay and was considering going through allstarwholesales. Anybody purchase through them? With PuffItUp selling for $169 I might go through them due to their rep. Do they send any extras with the order?

Long time lurker first time poster

I got my AA early February. Everything worked perfectly since day 1. Got a second oem battery. Since yesterday i cant get the AA to warm up on any color temp option. The bottom blue light flash normally for about 15 seconds then the blue light start to blink randomly at a faster rhythm and the device bip and shut down. My device is useless right now. Tried with my second oem battery freshly charged (charging work just fine) same result. Tried the reset procedure posted earlier same result. Tried with charger plugged in and again the device shut down before reaching temp. Mine is the first version with the short stem.

I contacted Arizer waiting to hear from them on monday.

I was in love with this thing. So many friends bought the AA after they tried mine and now im the only one who have problem.

This sounds VERY similar to what was happening with mine. A manual reset worked for me for this issue and i have had no more problems since. Maybe Arizer will just instruct you to manually reset as well.

I suspect the oven to overheat before reaching target temperature and shut down automatically. If the Air is cold and a low temp is selected the delay before the shutdown is longer. If i select the highest temp option the delay before turning off is cut in half. Everytime it warm up i can feel the heat from the oven.

The problem came just like that without any sign.

I got impatient waiting on the Vortex Shortys to become available and opted for a PVHES Straight Shorty Turbo instead, how do you guys like yours?

I get better airflow with the regular straight turbo than the regular straight shorty, i get better, more evenly extracted herbs with the regular shorty than the regular turbo... So i grabbed a shorty turbo for great airflow and more evenly extracted herbs... Im waiting on my shorty turbo but i have high hopes for it.... I think you will like it.

But now my vortex has been ordered too.... So it will be interesting to compare the differences when both arrive.

Im pretty sure that this will become your favorite stem. I use my straight shorty most of the time. I made most of my Air stems "shorty" with screen mods.I do not like the turbo option, I feel it is too much airflow.

im stuck between buying a shorty turbo and a vortex regular
anyone know which is better for clouds?

Just had something weird happen, powered it on and had 2 solid teal lights that didn't go away. Removing the battery and putting it'd back in let it power on normally. Anyone else experience this before? Seems very abnormal.

There have been a few times, that i noticed, weird stuff has happened with the lights... but IIRC just turning the device off and on again fixed the issue.. I normally dont even think to worry unless powering down and back up doesnt fix the issue.

That being said, sorry i have no idea what it could be. I wouldnt worry too much.....

If we turned our computers off and on as much as some of us (me) do with the Air, im sure we'd notice unusual stuff way more often LOL

I managed to order the PV gong and vortex stem today... now just a waiting game!

Be in touch with PlanetVape via e-mail. If the vortex is still in stock you should buy one and in the comments area ask them to hold the vortex until the air batteries arrive.

They did something similar for me .

Does anybody know if we have to use OEM batteries form Arizer? Can they tell if a different battery was used in a unit?

Providing the battery works fine and nothing goes wrong they probably cant tell what kind you have used,
But if something does go wrong and its down to a poor/fake battery then there might be a way they can tell and that would void any warranty on your unit, leaving you with an expensive paper weight.

Personally i think any gains you might get from using aftermarket battery's are going to be very small compared to the safety net of knowing your warranty is 100% ok, even in terms of price the OEM battery's are not going to break the bank (in the UK i can get 2 for £20), yes you can get very cheap ones from auction sites but every one I've tested (edit:bought for use with torches,lasers and e-cigs) has been nowhere near what they claimed I've had 18650's claiming 3000mah -5000mah yet measure out at less that 1000mah and thats only one aspect of the battery. And even if you find a good/quality aftermarket its probably going to cost around the same as OEM.

At the end of the day its your personal choice what you use but remember there are various reasons this battery was used the fact that its IMR means the safer chemistry will prevent venting with flames in the event of a catastrophic failure, whilst LI Ion batteries contain and oxidizer, which produces its own oxygen to support combustion, should enough heat be available at the source, lots of things to consider if you do go down the aftermarket route.

I have several PVHES mouthpieces, the Vortex is my favorite. It's longer so it cools the hot vapor. You can use the higher temps to help with pain and sleep.

It seem to do an excellent job of extracting the goodies from your herb. I thought it would be difficult to clean but it's no problem with ISO and a qtip. Then rinse with some hot water.

Better yet put your stem in some hot cocoa and stir with it to extract some of the resin that has collected inside the stem, right before bed.

The Vortex clearly offers a bit more conduction, But do any of these aftermarket stems offer more convection over the stock Air stems? I don't know why but i don't do so well with conduction, It really seems to make me hack stuff up, Which really sucks because i do love the Air great flavor and clouds.

With the longer stem it's a smoother draw, as far as harshness goes. There is very little if any draw resistance. You need to keep the screen clean though. I haven't looked for screens yet. I hope they will be easy to get. It may be manageable to make your own DIY project.

They just offered new stubby vortex stems size of the little mouthpiece stem. Interesting but I grabbed the big one so I wouldn't need a water tool for high temps outside of home use.

I know this is done and dusted, guys, but how do you think the Air holds up through water?

For me, it feels like it's easy to overwhelm the Air (especially with a PVHE turbo) through water, and the high is a lot more intense when coming up for a vape but also a lot shorter than I'm used to. When I just use a stem, or even the gong on its own, I feel a steady onset but it lasts longer (a decent three hours compared to the water-aided 2ish).

Anyone having the same experience?

I know a lot of people don't like massdrop due to the longer wait but the air is on there right now for $150 for another 5 days.

Im sure there is a tool used to cut out these screens, but i tried a few basic google searches for stuff like screen hole punch, metal screen cutter, pipe screen punch and such but couldnt find one.

Anyone know the correct name for the tool used to cut screens? If there is a specific tool. Seems like a more heavy duty paper hole punch with the right sized diameter should work. ??

It would seem like a "screen punch" shouldnt be too expensive. Granted other tools i already own will easily cut metal screens... But they wouldnt come out the perfect diameter, or even perfectly circle for that matter LOL


Im sure you can just buy the right sized screens, but being able to cut my own just seems like more fun HAHA

I've been using these for the Solo stems since day 1 .
They fit perfect and can be re-use after brief iso cleaning .
It creates a nice * convection * cup , keeping the herbs away from
the side walls of the stem .
