A potential allergy case?

Vapinating the peasants
At this point I'm starting to suspect I have an allergy to cannabis, which is an upsetting prospect to say the least. I started daily vaping about half a year ago (no prior use), and shortly after my lower lip swelled up to several times its normal size. Biopsy results said that my crohn's disease had spread to my lip from my colon, but this is a fairly rare occurrence and so far the monthly steroidal injections seem to have little consistent effect. Over the past week I've had an unintentional break from vaping for the first time in a while, and I noticed that my lip swelling had gone down noticeably. Yesterday I ended up brushing out some grinder kief so I could play with Daisy (nothing like having a new vape and nothing to put in it), and today when I woke up I noticed my lip was back its previous swollen appearance. Has anyone had similar experiences? My crohn's disease has never been in a better state than since I started vaping, so I'm hesitant to put it down immediately

Fire it again. I can still find the ground.
@Trogdor ,

I had something similar when I was getting regular corticosteroid injections epidurally. It's "supposed to be" non-systemic. Yeah right. (I know, you are being treated with steroids FOR the swelling, I just put it here for accuracy.) :-)

Anyway, that was when I started growing my own. NOT NOT NOT saying you should do that if it isn't legal where you are. (not saying the opposite either, just sayin')

I came to my own belief (again, my own) since it had been happening regularly that perhaps the little amount of various molds, etc. that are just going to be in weed had survived. Most mold spores (not active mold, the spores) need alcohol (or another method) to kill 'em dead. Not saying this is what *your* situation is, just posting to your question of anyone else having something similar.

Of course the most logical (but you may have already considered it) reason would be some surviving allergen on the weed you have. Obviously invisible, and for those who don't have an allergy to it, or don't have any other health problems, they might not have any such reaction.

I know it sounds silly, but is this happening with various weed from various places, or has this all been the "same batch"?

Peace and healing to you.

@OldOyler Contaminants in the weed had occurred to me, I've tried a couple different sources and even concentrates (all BHO IIRC), I don't believe there was in any change. The docs certainly seem to be fond of understating steroid side effects, hate the stuff

Hmmm...well, the next place I would of course be looking is at the specifics of how you are vaping, but I am sure you already thought of all those as well (mouthpiece material, what you mix it with to vape if anything, etc.)

I am going to "step out" of this one so that you can get some *good* advice. Mine is okay, just a bit mediocre when it comes to something like this.

I'll keep an eye out here to see how it turns out!

Peace.

OldOyler Edit: Sorry, I totally forgot something. I use RSO sublingually for pain. Absolutely fantastic. Just thinking if you tried a different method of intake, you could see whether it is the cannabis or the vaping. Sublingual also uses the bloodstream to cross the blood/brain barrier (via an artery that runs through your mouth or something), so it isn't a "medible" high, so to speak. (Even though at least a *little* will be processed through your liver that way, so if you have any restrictions on your liver it would be best to ask a doctor first, you know?) Peace!

Some good info in there, thanks. Also found this http://www.aaaai.org/ask-the-expert/allergy-to-cannibis.aspx, maybe it's worth bringing the possibility of an allergy up before the next round of steroid injections. Technically illinois has medical so perhaps they'll be able to test for it eventually
Thanks @Trogdor !

I finally started compiling info in a more "orderly fashion" than I had been on cannabis recently - I had *never* considered creating an allergy section! I was always one who thought nobody even *could* be allergic to cannabis (although granted I did know within the last year that had been disproved as an absolute).

You rock.

Peace and power to your vapinating the peasants!
