Today was a Monday for sure, and the fallout from that Monday needed to be cleared from my head with a decent hike and a sunset. Today I left the Hercules and Nibbler and home and brought along the herb chamber for some Sunsetbending.

V4 top is the greatest thing ever for the Bender. Hammer mode until it heats up then momentary mode to maintain the vapor. I never had as good of a session with the Bender as I did just now outside, off the easy-mode of the Core even- fresh batteries and a good 10 minute session as the sun went down. Four or five stirs of the chamber and unknown amount of hits. So effective that I didn't check where I'd been sitting after I was done, I'll have to go back tomorrow for some stuff I left behind :lol:

so i might have just tried something dumb. i wanted to get a sub ohm e cig set up going so i got an aspire atlantis tank(0.5 ohm coils) and sony vct4s and put one in my persei.

Worked great right off the bat, took probably 15 hits from it, then decided to charge my batteries a bit more since they were new and hadn't been fully charged yet. Put them back in and it won't fire. the light wouldn't even turn blue unless i held the persei upside down. even when upside down though, the atty still wouldn't fire. I tried putting the top onto the core and the blue light comes on fine, but still won't fire even my 2.5 ohm pro tank.

Did i fry my persei top? seeing as a hercules at 7.4v makes about 23 watts, i figured 27 watts would be fine. I can't be positive but from my research my sony vct4s are authentic.

would i be correct in assuming it would be unwise to run 27 watts through one side of the persei double cartridge top?

edit: from what I've read a ways back in this thread it might be due to using the 610-510 adaptor and possibly screwing it down too tightly. Would this make sense? I know the persei isn't "user serviceable" like the 8, but do you think someone with a fair bit of electronic experience could fix one?(my friend not me)

The original Persei tops where designed for resistance ranges between 1.0-5.0 running a sub ohm cart has damaged the unit as the circuitry can't handle that high of a load.

The 8 is what you will need.

Now because the hercules runs at 22 watts doesn't mean a sub ohm can, the hercules runs at that wattage because it is running at 7.4v, the tops itself can support wattages up to 30 but it needs to be done at 7.4v.

ok that makes total sense, so yea pretty dumb move on my part, oh well. I've been looking at getting the 8 for a little while now. How does the 510/610 threading work? does the top screw off to use the different threads? Would i be correct in assuming it works with the persei core insert?

So no rda's on persei top? Or? Thats what i kept my v1 around for was push button ignition for stuff that i didnt hold down the button for like the kiss carts and i was very close to doing a rebuildable.

you can have RDA's on the Persei but within the range of 1.0 - 5.0 on the older generations and 0.8 - 5.0 ohms on the v4 tops.

On a side note we are looking at a April 15th release of the Kiss Alpha Centauri.

And a few other cool things maybe.

Yesssssssssss you better not delay im marking it on my calendar. There will be serious consequences if you are lying about the date....i will find you @THC SCIENTIFIC and...and..i will be sad...

It's more or less around that date. Now I'm cutting it close but that's what we are shooting for.

Believe me you won't be disappointed.

The Kiss Alpha C will not disappoint.

so will the kiss alpha c work with 3.7v ego battery??

We already have the kiss and the kiss mini for our evod series batteries.

To make the Kiss Alpha Centauri what we think a Kiss cart should be can only be accomplished on the Persei and 8 series vaporizers.

I know it sucks but you won't be dissapointed purchasing the evod series batteries either as we are working on things for that as well. :-)

if its under warranty then a touch button top for $10 if not then we have to fully refurbish your unit to newest available parts.

Please submit a ticket and our cs team will guide you the rest of the way.
My persei is still covered under warranty, but I lost my top that came with the original purchase, and have been forced to use a hammer top.

Do I have any option to get a silver V4 top?

@THC SCIENTIFIC when can we get details/specs on the kiss alpha?

So far the only specs introduced is that it is going to be 510/601 compatible depending on the version you get.

It is designed for the Persei and 8

It will have a few different features and depending on what you want you can set it up to your liking.

thats a tough one. Unfortunately we cant without a top do any type of warranty repair. If we do agree to this the flood gate would open to people claiming they lost there tops and then having a reserve top to send into warranty claims. We simply cant do it.

Hey @THC SCIENTIFIC, will v4 persei tops be available for purchase anytime soon? I love my v3 top and hope it never breaks, but i really want to upgrade to the v4 already!

unfortunately selling single tops is no longer going to be available after the hammer tops are finished.

Hey guys, I thought about a little piece of parchment paper to put sticky parts when servicing my hercules. And I tried using flash vape glass straw with an omicron silicone mouthpiece with success for a few days. I can still pump oil in my mouth , but it cools the vapor a bit and I would go out and about that way.

The solo bent stem extension produces a lot of reclaim; I filled an empty herc sr74x with just reclaim for the 2nd time. About 2 weeks of usage. I have mixed feelings about producing that much reclaim for a cooler vapor. I need more time to evaluate the reclaim potency primo, and im not good at that. And thats for home usage only; its like pulling from a steam boat cheminey haha!

No, I dont use the screen. I read it clogs quickly. The concept im experimenting is pushing the limits of big clouds with long button presses without filling the reclaim chamber. Im experimenting strong cool down hits and so far I think it makes a difference with softer concentrates. Need more experimenting :science:

I always seem to somehow get the top side of my screen filled with oil, it's almost never the chamber side that gets clogged... not sure if its vapor condensation or if I'm pulling oil up through it, or if it gloms over into the upper mouthpiece while laying on it's side, but I often am scraping huge spoonfuls of oil out of the top lol.... never get any oil in my mouth during use though

I have read that many take out the screen in the mouthpiece for the hercules, but I always kept it in. If it caused any restriction, I would pop it out and use a lil ISO on a paper towel to wipe off. It never hurt performance. But I am in the camp of using whatever is designed By the manufacturer and not being too creative. The ppl of FC are the out of the box thinkers that help maximize my enjoyment from mods and alterations.

Has anyone tried the Fbomb or pnwt on the hercules?

Anywhere in Seattle I can buy w9tech stuff? Was hoping for a minicron or something else, but didn't really want to wait for the mail.

Yhanks

It's definitely vapor condensation. The pressure drops on the side by your mouth, and pressure drops cool things. I had the same experience as you. I took it out because it kept clogging, and unlike the rest of the chamber, it doesn't heat up enough to lower the viscosity on the oil so I can suck air/vapor through it. I was having to take it out, put it in my mouth to remove the oil, and replace it. Got to be too much of a hassle.

so i made a spacer with copper tape in my ss tube... can now run my mxjo 18500s with 3.7 herc. they hit hard for about 10 rips, but great batteries it seems overall. I was doubling those up for 7.4 operation, but now i have more options.
