Discontinued herbalAire

I want to use it inverted like my LSV....just trying to figure out if I will be happy with it, used this way.
Inverted HA, is the only way to fly. So yeah, to be honest ... I think you would be happy. I vape bong almost exclusively too, BTW. :science: :cool:

What is up to all my fellow herbie (OG) peeps?! I have a quick question, regarding the TonG. I have been interested in it for a while, but am still on the fence. Do yall find it 'better' than the PVGonG? Stay lifted my friends. :peace:

I much prefer the TonG over PVGonG, mainly because my PVGonGs (2) can sometimes require force to put in and can also get stuck, basically they don't fit well IME. As well when I did use PVGonG, the end of it would touch the bottom of the HA bowl and then the end of the glass got all charred (didn't get clean with ISO either).

It'd be really cool to get a Joda HA GonG, something that fits in 2/3 of the way and then has strong roll stoppers that support the HA up, this way it doesn't get charred on the end. Also it could be used "all-glass" if it's made with a pinch bowl, since HA doesn't require grinding.

Thanks 421, exactly the kind of info. I was looking for. However, still don't know if its worth ordering, I already own a PVgong. I like your thoughts about the Joda GonG; that would be tits. How 'bout we get a bunch of TonG milk videos posted up, to convince me?

I saw someone ask if an owner of a Cloud, still used an HA. I know T-Dub already answered, but I have kept mine in use. The reason my HA has stayed in my rotation, is mostly due to its "trusty" nature. Sturdy as hell, not much to worry about, great to have on hand for guests. Also, it is the #1 vape for 'less than optimal' flowers (IMO/IME). Not *needing* to grind helps & is a great feature in general. Unfortunately, we don't all live in friendly states.. :nope: :argh:

Great posts fellas.... still trying to justify this purchase but honestly, how many other vapes can fully extract without ANY grinding/stirring whatsoever? I have tested over and over, and I simply cannot use hand grinders, even with water filtration. My lungs just can't handle the particulate, and it cripples the experience. I'm glad I have discovered my HA! I have only succeeded not having to grind with the Arizer Solo and Air portables. I simply love vaping an unscathed nug! My LSV works well, but eventually a stir is required, and that's when the particulates increase, and lung irritation commences.

Any other vapes that work well with whole unground nugs that do not require stirring, other than the Arizer products i've mentioned? I'm assuming these will be exclusively conduction vapes then?

I also do not understand how the airflow can be so great with the HA when the load is compacted/pressed intentionally to block the air jets? How does the airflow compare to other vapes? How can concentrates be used without ruining the holes?

I've read alot of this thread, but not all of it yet, lotsa of googling reviews, not a tonne of content on youtube, and i'm still trying to track down videos in this thread, specifically with the TonG since that's the only way i'll be using it.

Is it an issue to let the HA idle with your load, or will it continue to roast too much? I suppose it's not hard to remove between hits?

It's pretty easy to consider this vape when it does have a 30 money back guarentee! I wonder if that would be honoured through retailers as well.

I really wonder if the HAelite could replace my LSV? I would love to be lazy and just use nugs without stirring ever again! I always toss my ABV, and only vape to light brown so I think the HA will allow me to extract more?

The HA is at its best with this. It's almost spooky. Pea sized bits, and just whole chunks crammed in there. Either way.

I think the Tong can only be used on the 2.1/2.2 without the crucible. You can cut the top section off a little, but stock it is a little too tall. Arizer says to just shove it in without the crucible. It's in here a few pages back I think.

It will roast while it sits. With the regular mouth piece, you can use a "top" screen and dump the crucible out between hits. Hot as shit coming out, but cools quickly. The Elite mouthpiece with the crucible attached doesn't fit the 2.x if I recall. That might be the biggest upgrade made to the Elite.

So non issue with the Elite then? I mean, removing the mouthpiece between hits, because the crucible fits INSIDE the mouthpiece if I am following correctly?

The last thing that I want is a session that I have to "rush" because of radiant heating. I almost feel that way with the Solo/Air already, but that's due to conduction mainly.

Also I don't think you meant to say "Arizer" lol.

Love how it vapes better when compacted, not sure how it works I suppose the convection/conduction combo and diffused airflow. The compactness of the load might mean better conduction throughout it? Like the weed conducting upon itself perhaps? All conjecture.

Concentrates used without ruining holes is a concern of mine as well, mainly residue. To combat this I usually put some ground up weed in on the bottom (which could mess things up but hasn't for me at all yet) to catch any residue. And/or use high quality concentrate that won't have much residue. (I use my HA without cruc, and the inside does get dirty, over a longer time than other vapes, but a cotton ball soak of the inside with ISO while upside down + spinning a sponge inside made it clean again.)

I need to record some TonG usage videos... though tbh right now I use the stock MP more heh (addicted to "minivap" mode.) TonG is really great though, an amazing accessory. Here is one video:

This was a concern of mine but I've done a few things to mitigate it and am happy with this now. Mainly I make sure to load once its heated, and secondly I use ceramic discs :) The discs allow me to space the load away from the heater as much as I want, and also increase the mass of the bowl and disperse the conductive heat around also lessening the conduction effect (what I believe from testing). Right now I am using 8 discs, with weed at 7/8 level, so a lot of ceramic and the load is very far from the heater. I also like the taste better personally (mm ceramic!) This is what I call "minivap" mode cause it makes the HA more convective, and it is a sipping experience, the bowl lasts for a good while, and taste seems better throughout. There is a lot more restriction with that many disc screens though, and it can be hard to pull, especially if overloaded. 8 discs can only handle a small load, 0.05g at the max, anymore and it is not as enjoyable imo. Testing 7 discs with some larger loads tonight.

Going to write a disc mini guide up later (credit @McNerdius for discovering these fit in HA). They have been working so well for me, and the fit is quite good. They could be offered as an HA accessory by HA themselves imo.

HA will definitely let you extract more. You could load up a whole cruc (or even HA chamber, espresso mode) with your LSV loads and then get some big vape hits later on the HA. I used to do this back when I used both my Nano and HA everyday. I would take one big Nano gong hit, and have a mostly green bowl that I would then throw into the HA chamber, then vape the HA when it was full. TBH I remember getting really high, more high than I would want to get nowadays. Called it my "finishing" vape, and the end result would be well extracted brown AVB.

How about the cleaning? Troublesome?
Not in my opinion. I soak in ISO overnight (mouthpiece and extension separated -- crucible separate, too, but not every week like other parts), then use a toothbrush, a few Q-tips and the cleaning tool. It helps to get at least one extra mouthpiece for use while soaking the other. Am sure others who've used their herbalAires for longer than I have (only since last August) will have more suggestions for you. :)

Hey guys, how's the performance of the HerbalAire for direct draw (stem) application?

Lately all I've been doing is direct draw with a glass mouthpiece on top.

The MP on the right of this picture is what I use. It's nice and small/lightweight so it sits on the stock MP by itself, very casual and great taste. Here is the dhgate link for the ash catch and accessories it comes in. The seller is Kathy on dhgate and she might be able to sell the mouthpiece alone if messaged.

On the HA (TonG pictured, fits and stays on stock MP as well):

How about the cleaning? Troublesome?

I use my HA in espresso mode with ceramic disc screens, no cruc. Cleaning is not too difficult even then. I soak a cotton bowl in ISO and shove it in the chamber with HA upside down, let soak for a while. Then I jam a sponge in there and twist it around. End result is a nice and clean HA. TonG and other teflon pieces I just soak in ISO.

Thanks for all the info guys. I'm really torn between the E-Nano and the HerbalAire. Primarily using for direct stem draw, won't be using the bag, maybe the whip and a bubbler. I'm leaning slightly towards the HerbalAire now just because it's Canadian-made, more efficient (from what I read), built like a tank, and more widely available. How's the post-purchase customer experience? Say when you needed exercise your warranty? TIA!

My post-purchase customer experience with herbalAire has been excellent.

They went over and above the call of duty being helpful when I misunderstood what to expect about expansion, contraction, and a loose mouthpiece fit at room temperature after they sent a needed replacement for my original mouthpiece. I posted about it starting in this thread's late August pages.

Recently I ordered spare mouthpieces and HA included extra parts with a nice, hand-scribbled note on the invoice. IMO, they're great folks!

I've had mine for over 5 years as my daily driver and have never actually cleaned it. The only thing I do is poke through the holes on the mp screen when it's clogged. My whip is always pretty full of resin though.

The fact that this is even possible in terms of a properly working vape after all that usage with no clean is remarkable! Serves to show the HA durability and workhorse nature.

Hey guys, how's the performance of the HerbalAire for direct draw (stem) application?

It's been awhile, but the Solo stems were a decent fit, and very easy to clean. They're slightly loose in the chamber, and it may be a little "airier" of a hit. It always extracted very well and was how I used mine the most though. They make o-rings for the Solo that may make it a tighter fit (never tried). The device is versatile.

I'm not sure where you read that the HA was more efficient than an E-Nano? I would find it extremely hard to believe.

Does it come with a money back guarantee, @biohacker ?

Only if purchased through the manufacturer. Although the one retailer i'm thinking about purchasing from is offering store credit if i'm not happy.

The term "efficiency" is thrown around a lot when it comes to vapourizing,

There are different types of efficiency in play, here. The HA's unique flow design enable it to penetrate and exhaust even whole, compressed pieces of the densest herb, which give it the best extraction efficiency of all vapes. It gets the most out of our flowers, without grinding, crushing or even stirring.

On the other hand, log vapes, and others with smaller bowls, do encourage the use of less herb by limiting the dosage, in general. The HA has a larger bowl in order to allow it to be also used with 3 or 5 bags at once, in large groups. People have the option of using more or less, but in the end, the amount used is up to the user, imo.

I was always amazed that you could drop a little .05 piece of nug into the crucible or cram a 1/8 ounce into it and get great results either way, with the .05 in the HA I may not get big clouds but it gets me pretty much as high as the same amount in any other vaporizer I've used.

I just found I had a hard time limiting myself when filling the crucible, so if you lack the self control like me you can find yourself going through a lot more herb with herbie then with a bowl that only holds a couple tenths of a gram.

The HA always seemed as "efficient" as any other vape I've used, but only when and if I used it efficiently.

I will own another soon but I'm searching for another older 2.1 without the auto-shutoff or the little light-show of lights changing color on the bottom.
