I like the instant on heat demand the GH seems to have .
VW clicked it on , in aprox. 3 seconds , he was able to
start inhaling . It also looked like the temp. setting changed from
red to green on the GH .

The only time I can take a hit that fast on a Pen Vape ,
is for * concentrates * , but the GH is for herbs tho .
Looking forward to more reviews and ' longer ' vids ...

Not me but it's nothing against Buzz personally. Let me explain.

ANYONE, be it an FC member or not, who gets a free vaporizer from a manufacturer to review, be it a beta or a final production unit, is faced with a bit of a conflict. Do I report it as I see it without any regard to the fact that the manufacturer sent me a free unit? If I clearly point out it's faults, am I somehow being ungrateful to a company who not only sent me a free vaporizer but also trusted me enough to write a review? Would this review be just as brutally honest as it would be if I purchased the unit as any customer would do while at the same time, not having any relationship with the manufacturer other than a manufacturer/customer releationship?
.

Possibly...but, your argument would lack credence if it was determined that not all of @BuzzDanklin reviews have been positive ones. Is anyone aware of any significantly negative reviews from Buzz pertaining to other vaporizors? I don't know the answer to this.....

I also think Buzz asked them if be could come, since he was already visiting CO. Never even said they actually gave him a Hopper to keep right? Looked like be was just using it while in Denver, and chilling at the offices a lot.

I also think when people spend money on something and use it well enough, they over praise things to justify their purchase. Neither system is perfect unless you're using things yourself...

If anything his positivity about being blown away made me less enthusiastic, bc it revealed he was a little overly skeptical beforehand in my opinion... Haha

From watching quite a few vape reviews from various sources I have come to the conclusion that they may not say, this thing sucks but they will compare it to other vapes and say for instance - taste is not as good as solo and heats up slower than mighty, but quality build is good and for the money it is a great value.

That sort of thing where they might not specifically put down a vaporizer but they will give you the low-down on how it compares to others. For me I think this is a fair type of review, because the truth is that each person values things differently, so while one makes the buying decision on vapor quality, for someone else the stealth of the unit might be the most important.

his positivity about being blown away made me less enthusiastic

To be honest if this thing performs as stated, quick heat up, decent taste for such a small form factor, then as ultra-portables go these days that would be pretty awesome!

Ah ok, yeah that makes sense. Still doesn't make me not trust him or anything (just jealous!)

His amazement at the power and build quality were the things I was always pretty confident about, though it is nice to hear I wasn't wrong!

And yeah even if they ship some, new screens can be sent later. They said screens are replaceable in an email, and it can all be soaked too. Temp change potentially could even be done remotely with a firmware update perhaps, I wonder what it would be, maybe making it go higher for concentrates, or have a higher lowest temp? bc its already very versatile

I see I was under the impression that they'd have to rearrange things all over again for the screen (didn't get the email for some reason)

And when I was emailing Trevor a while back he said there was going to be some kind of adapter for concentrates so maybe the adapter itself will transfer heat in a way that updating won't be necessary? ~hopefully~

^^ I do understand that but that is something that I've never done. The only person I need to justify my purchase to is me and even then, I have a hard time doing that sometimes.

But yeah, I see people do that all the time by stating, "Buy it. You'll love it." because I think they firmly believe that if they like it, everyone else should too and if they don't it is they who are wrong.

I got a lot of faults but this is not one of them.

...and the next logical step is "The only review that really matters to me is mine". It's interesting to hear what "the experts" think, or even just your average FC member or person on the street, but ultimately, my own opinion is all that's important to me.

Which is why, someone else might say the GH is lame, because you can only take X hits off a charge, while to me, that's probably a non issue.

What kind of technological problems does the GH team and testers have that they cannot find a dark colored background or someone with one, to help show the clouds better?

Vaporizer companies are always tweaking and trying to make their product better. That's why six months down the road this product will probably be better than it is today. So folks could choose to be the first on the block or wait for a better product. Or buy one now and one later.

Watch their older videos. They shot some of them with a black background.

So far I really like what I'm hearing and the "un-stirred " abv.. looks great. One would have to expect the unit to get warm with extended use due to its small form factor. But a hot mouthpiece that has to be capped with rubber is a bit disappointing.

I wonder if the Ti. unit would run any cooler? There was some mention to that effect from GH. Something about how the metals either retain or dissipate the heat differently. Any metal experts here to chime in please?

Battery life doesn't seem awful, swapping them out is easy enough and they aren't very expensive.

Would there be any reason that they couldn't be charged on something like a Nitecore digi charger?
Chargers imr/li-ion/lifePo4/Ni-MH/Ni-Cd
3.7 to 4.2 volts output.
I personally asked Trevor about recharging the batteries and it can only be done in the grasshoper :(
For now at least he said ...

I have been pretty impressed by their recent videos and the improtu AMA/review by Buzz. I would be more than happy with the 4 bowl battery life considering that batteries are only $7 on the site. I personally never blow through .8 of herbs without being close to a charger or having a spare battery handy. I recently bought new magic flight batteries from the local grocery store for 4/$15 so no complaints here. Couple that with the on demand hit, stealth factor, and pass-through charger this sounds like a definite win for me, all for only $135.

Edit: Personally wasnt super impressed by the "stoner chick" video but the ABV picture/video seemed pretty legit, I personally never expected this to blow desktops away no matter what claims were made but for a portable it seems like a handy addition to the lineup

It's a 750mAh 3.7v Li-ion, most ecig chargers that accept the smaller sizes will charge it just fine.
The Efest Luc V4 comes to mind as a good, fairly cheap option.

You just want to stay at or below 0.5A charge rate most likely.

That is why I always go to the most trusted source for vaporizers reviews, which is
High Times Magazine.:lmao:
(Anybody here remember the Atmos winning as best vaporizer even tho it was scorching the loads all the time.)

This thread reminds me of times when I got hungry but got no time to eat and than I got 'overhungry' and loose my appetite all together.,for the GH I mean.I am no backer of campaign but was tempted on preorder.marketing was spot on,except the goofy girls.Got air to hold me over and probably will get one just because of the form factor but can't escape the feeling I was beeing lied to.Call it subjective interpretation, call it not understanding what is crowdfunding all about but I would better call Saul, just kidding.I am sure it will ship and be viable and usefull product but am sooo over it for now and just buy it in the future if I feel it fits particular need.I may be wrong but I doubt it will be a gamechanger.Hope I am wrong.Greetings to all.

Okay, so here's a break down of quotes from the most recent activity on Reddit along with some of the previous photographs from @BuzzDanklin/VaporizerWizard . . .

On packing & grinding:

"Average grind, I don't have my finishing grinder or others with me so I can't test multiple packing techniques. But so far I've been tearing nugs with my fingers and packing it using the mouthpiece tip. No problems with it at all."

Vapor related:

"One of highest vapor producing units I've tested. You can clear a bowl in a few hits or keep the temp down and preserve some herbs . . . . The vapor does get warm but I've been turning it on, hitting it, then just turn it off until I'm ready to take the next hit or until the next person takes the next hit. It only takes seconds to heat up so there's no reason to leave it on. This helps keep the mouthpiece cooler as well.

True vaporization. Used prbly 20 bowls split between 3 different units and no combustion from any. It does push the limit at temp 5 as far as vapor temp but the production is incredible. So far I really like the middle of he road... Temps 3.5-4.25 or so. Herbs have been evenly vaped every time. It definitely pushes it to the limit and I've tried but so far no combustion. It's pretty precise temp control."

Cleaning:

"The bowl is in the rest of the pen. So just drop the mouthpiece in ISO, brush out the bowl and then you submerge the bowl side of the pen just below the air holes. Very easy cleaning . . . the only thing I've cleaned since I've been here is the mouthpiece. Vaping all day every day and I haven't had to clean the chamber. (3 days so far)."

Battery charging:

They have talked about using an external charging dock for purchase separately. As for now the battery charges in the unit but you will be able to buy extras for $7.

Potential changes to the current model:

"Different screen in the mouthpiece to fix the clogging issue and the threads will be a little shorter than mine to make it easier and quicker to take the unit apart and put it back together . . . the model I have will be different from production models so I'm assuming the clogging will be drastically reduced. The final product will have one screen and it will be replaceable.

They told me I'll get the new one as soon as they get back from China and I'll be able to test it further."

On comparing the Grasshopper to the MFLB:

"Night and day man, night and day. The Grasshopper is much easier to use, load, clean and to carry around. Not to mention the fact that it really does mimic the look of a pen.

Only thing that I will say is that he Grasshopper doesn't have an external charging dock like the MFLB. It is coming in the near future they told me."

Any other comparisons to draw?

"So far I realllllly like the Alfa and not so impressed with the summit. The Summit is in no way a bad vape but it's just ok. I've been in contact with vapium and they are looking at making a couple changes for the future.

So far I would rate the Grasshopper above both but it's still early. Give me a couple weeks to go hard."

Many thanks to @BuzzDanklin for making the trip out there, getting up close & personal with the Grasshopper, & for sharing his thoughts & feelings on it.

So, a little more fuel to add to the debate!

Bon appétit! :D

:peace:

I asked Trevor to add some batteries in my order and if I can get to change from stainless to ti colored:
Hi,

We can make these changes for you. The majority of all the different units will ship at the same time. We are shooting for end of the month delivery for your unit but it may take unit April.

Best,

Trevor

Ps: I was queue for preordering, hours after indigogo items was sold out.
