@Shit Snacks I've been thinking the same thing, it does seem odd to compare the quality of what is apparently almost completely convection produced vapor to that produced by 100% conduction a la Pax.

Mind you, those very first few flavorful draws on a Pax brimming with some top shelf goodness would always bring a smile to my face :smug:

Undefined 'Quality' is definitely subjective.

I want more.

I don't think it's gonna look aesthetically good if you have a mouth guard just because it runs hot after prolonged use. I thought they had the means to counter this problem. Now all it seems to me is another Cera in production. If that's how long the batteries last for, then I could attest that it wouldn't be much different than the Cera besides it's capability to actually vaporize without learning techniques for vapor production. Regardless of plastic or silicone being used as the guard's material, it will look ugly IMO.

@Iwien I think you don't understand my concept of liquid cooling. But I'd love your opinion(s) on this vaporizer. Let us know if you ever find anything futuristic about it.

I am ok trading off some taste for the stealth and portability. You just can't get away from that with ultra portables because of the short vapor path. I am thinking taste might be similar to my Imag+ and that would be fine.

But hopefully much better than Imag (way too harsh for me to use much anymore) since it's on demand convection over session conduction and much much lower temps on offer (hate how imag starts as high as 374 and then goes right to 410...)

I don't think I've read anywhere that the GH gets unbearably hot; only that it can get hot during a number of prolonged sessions, which may typically not be the way most will expect to use it. Also, if the mouthpiece does get uncomfortable for some then all one would have to do is let it cool down, which shouldn't take long at all. OR one could blow on it a few times to quicken the cool down. I think that as with most vapes we learn to use them in our comfort zone, and not necessarily attribute accomodations as limitations. Anyway, we should wait to hear from many user reviews before judging real world performance issues.

I know it isn't a huge deal. If it performs, it will do for many of us. I just thought they had this heat issue figured out when it was proposed that the GH would have advanced insulation for cooling, for long durations of use. Check their IGG campaign, it says it all.

It doesn't say it will get unbearably hot but from reading the reddit posts, it looks like it's a 'must-deal-with' situation. I can't wait for others to review it soon.

Yes, that so much. You can hear about this over at the Fire Fly thread all the time.

Exactly. Not every aspect of the learning curve can be attributed to device shortcomings. We are, theoretically, sentient beings who can adjust to life's little challenges...the exigencies of any given portable vape can be much of the fun, and charm, of being a vape enthusiast.

If it holds .2-.25 and can kill that load in 4 hits(or more depending on draw style) then the 4 bowls per charge is not at all a problem to me. I only vape .05-.1 per session personally.

They said it recharges in 90 minutes, so it can fully recharge between sessions for me, that's a good thing.
A battery swap only takes seconds as well.

Depending on vapor quality and how well the GH holds up over time, this may be my perfect portable and home unit as well (if it's just myself and maybe a friend). At home it will probably nearly live attached to my water pipe(mouthpiece heat won't be much of an issue).

I don't need a party vape as most people I know prefer to choke on combustion.

Not to mention turning it off and on, so a full .25 load could last a whole day if you stick to lower temps or ride the range. Love that dial

Knowing my weak draw I won't be killing bowls that quickly, and I like lower temps in general. Better for harshness and battery likely as well

I like the fact that you can vape reasonably large loads. @BuzzDanklin stated he could load .20 to .25g in the chamber . As far as harshness is concerned, @BuzzDanklin said he could vape a .25g load in 4 hits without water. Why would it not be harsh? Perhaps if he finished a bowl in 8 hits rather than 4 he would find the vapor less harsh? IDK.. Just a thought

I really am liking most of what I'm hearing. However, like others have said, I'm not too keen on the possibility of having to use a silicone tip to avoid too much heat. Maybe if you spaced your hits out a bit it wouldn't get too hot to handle..

 Hells yeah! That thing looks awesome! I'm totally digging what I hear and see so far. Sounds like it might be great for those stealth needs. Not a daily driver or session replacement by any means, but still it will have it's place in my collection (at some point).

Anyone have the outside diameter of the mouthpiece? I'm wondering if that would work with my new universal waterpipe silicone adapter........

I'm still going to wait for the first few batches to hit the market before I dive in. I hope they'll continue to tweak the product once the reviews come in, and the product is even better 18 months from now

I think the overall diameter is 14mm/.55in if that helps.

Exactly^ Dude I feel like you and me have been on the same page the whole time, seems like we were pretty on the money with our personal expectations of the unit and will undoubtedly both be very pleased in a couple months...

Did you back the IGG or pre order?

So far I really like what I'm hearing and the "un-stirred " abv.. looks great. One would have to expect the unit to get warm with extended use due to its small form factor. But a hot mouthpiece that has to be capped with rubber is a bit disappointing.

I wonder if the Ti. unit would run any cooler? There was some mention to that effect from GH. Something about how the metals either retain or dissipate the heat differently. Any metal experts here to chime in please?

Battery life doesn't seem awful, swapping them out is easy enough and they aren't very expensive.

Would there be any reason that they couldn't be charged on something like a Nitecore digi charger?
Chargers imr/li-ion/lifePo4/Ni-MH/Ni-Cd
3.7 to 4.2 volts output.

Yeah, I think we are on the same page. I think the Hopper will rock performance wise and the stealth factor (which is high on my list) will only make it that much better...

I was a campaign backer early on so I'd like to think that I may receive mine by the end of March. We shall see...

Nice! Unfortunately I missed the campaign but hopefully not to far behind with April... Totally worth the extra money in my opinion. Looking forward to reading your first impressions to tide me over whilst I wait

One thing that I found interesting — in both a good and bad way — is that apparently they're still modifying things. @BuzzDanklin mentioned that they are planning to rework the screen to prevent clogging. This also means that the unit he received is still a pre-production one. (Also, they previously said they sent out the first batch of units, no? So a little confused about that).

Of course, modifications means more delays, or extended periods again before actually shipping (presuming they truly will at some point. As for already shipping some out, it seems doubtful - certainly no one either here or on reddit has reported getting one. More likely, that was to buy a bit more time, or maybe drive more preorders - perhaps they need cash to build the production units? On the 15th, we'll see what excuse Trevor gives us for this update on why they aren't yet shipping. March would appear to be a done deal, no shipping this month. April? I'm sure only if those evil Chinese manufacturers stop delaying their work (sarcasm off).
