I'm SO pissed right now. I was trying to fit the silicone from the extreme q whip to attach to the bubbler and I guess I was too rough and broke a little piece of the mouth piece off.

crap on a stick! it still fits but i will be buying a replacement today or tomorrow. warning to all, those little teeth on the mouth piece are very delicate.

Sucks, but fortunately the mouthpieces are fairly inexpensive for a set. I actually picked up the wear and tear set, it comes with 2 mouthpieces and a full cooling chamber as well as new o-rings, screens, liquid pads, and the 2 tamper tools. Good deal and very handy to have.

They suppose you to change the CU regulary anyway, like the volcano bags and valves because the CU may loose fit after frequent cleaning. This is why they are relatevly inexpensive in a Pack of 3 compared to the heater. Feel sorry for you anyway, it sucks when a part if such an expensive device is failing but you should have some replacement at home just in case. I broke the mighty logo of one of my CU and can't make it close tight anymore and was like . Luckily they send me a free one after I threw the broken plastic logo in the box of the defective unit.

yea it's not a big deal, 35$ for the wear and tear set. I'm a little concerned with my emotional attachment to this device. I'm not sure what is, maybe it's how perfectly it fits in my hand. Its not the vapour production since my volcano blows it away in that department. This little machine is just so....... charming. lol. Even the name "crafty" is so cute. when I don't have it with me I find myself saying " damn, I wish I had my crafty".

I love my crafty

@kolila I have some spare mouthpieces, so if you're interested, send me a PM with your address and I can ship one to you.

Great Scott!
Sent my crafty in to get the FW upgrade, left a note saying I'd be happy to pay the difference to upgrade to a mighty. S&B got the vape yesterday or today in the mail, and called me today saying they would be happy to do that upgrade. Customer service was excellent, so they seem to be back in the groove. I hope the mighty is a better fit for me. The crafty is amazing, and I wouldn't be sad to be "stuck" with it, but I don't feel like the USB charger charged as fast as I expected, even at 2.1 amps. So its more convenient to charge, but I feel like its half hr of charging for 1 bowl if its dead. Hoping the mighty is right for me, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy a used crafty again if one popped up for sale down the line. I think both is the dream team, I just want more battery!

Hi Very high
I still want a Mighty grrr need to rob a bank I reckon  Mighty for home use and Crafty for outdoor would be just perfect.

@kolila sorry late reply bud yeah I am still on my first unit, hoping to get at least a 100hrs before it goes :rip:

So far so good on my reconditioned replacement. Battery seems to be on par with my other units. One thing I have noticed is they seem to run hotter once hit 45-50 hour range. It was enough that I dropped my base temp by 10 degree's. Just wondering if me or if anyone else noticed there units running hotter with time?

Sorry to hear that happened Kolila. I use the same set up.

Wanted to tell others though, that I would not let this stop you from using the EQ set up. I've been using it since I got mine, without trouble, and I am aproaching my 90th hour of use.

A few tips I would give.

1.) when trying to fit the tube on to the mouthpiece, it helps to use your thumb and forefinger to pre-ovalize the clear tube before trying to slide it over the oval chaped mouthpiece. Also, one corner of the mouthpiece first, then the other. This should make it slide in pretty easy. If you are still having a bit of trouble, maybe your hosing is slightly tighter, just felate the tip of the glass a hair and it will slide right on.

2.) I am quite cautious while fitting it on, or using it during a session, to not allow the weight of the unit to rest fully on the newly formed joint. I keep my bubbler in one hand, and the crafty with glass attachment in the other, and I use it exactly as someone that used to smoke out of a bong would. Bong in one hand, lighter in the other. Only now the lighter is my crafty with its attachment.

3.) I cut my clear EQ tube very short. The connector tube is very short. Only about an inch long. Half goes on the ridged end of the EQ adapter, ( which hasa fragile arm. Be careful, this is a source of complaint on the EQ thread. ) and half goes onto the crafty mouthpiece. By keeping it short, it is secure enough to hold and airtight, but short enough to easily slide the clear EQ hosing on and off without stress.

4. Lastly, if you look at the Crafty mouthpiece, you'll notice it gets narrower near where it connects to the cooling unit. Near the teeth that broke on Kolila. This is a very good place to grab while sliding your clear tubing onto the mouthpiece. The taper gives you a good hold, and by holding it here, you can relieve pretty much ALL presure that would be on the teeth or joint while attaching your tube to the draw piece.

In my travel kit, thnx to this attachment, I have the ability to use my crafty alone, with a bubbler, with a j-hook, and if I so please or am in the mood, for further cooling, I can do the same with my whip and use the crafty as a stationary desk top unit. So while I feel for Kolila, I did not want others to be scared off from this setup. It's been perfect for nearly 90 hours of use for me personally.

Also, @stickstones (former mod) just opened up an online shop, and he carries the Crafty. He has cool freebies like Jyarz. The prices listed on his site are MSRP, but just PM him for deals that may include a discount... :)
Yes and always good to support our FC peeps!

Im guessing mine looks a lot like yours. The EQ adapter is pretty straight forward

You can see that the little clear silicone near the bottom of the pic has been cut short. Less than a inch, and I only have it slid over the first knuckle leaving between a third and a half inch of tubing to conect to the crafty mouthpiece.

Below is how I have it attached and a couple of the pieces I sometimes use with my crafty. As I said earlier, crafty in one hand, vape toy in the other. Apply crafty no differently than the way you would a lighter to a bowl.

And sometimes when I'm in a different mood I'll attach my silicone whip to either the J-hook or bubbler, then slide my crafty into its slot in my case so that it is anchored, and use it like a tabletop.

Is that what you meant by setup Kolila?

Plastic piece broke of my Crafty where you screw in the CU. I have had it a month and a half, the only thing that has gotten better treatment from me is my dog. I have babied it yet it still broke. Still works but when I return it I will be swapping it for another product. I love this device but it does not seem like it has a long lifespan on it which is a shame , anything that costs this much should last a while. Would upgrade it for the Mighty but some users have been getting the Error message and I don't want to go through another refund process.

a post from a member talking to s&b said that "err 004" is a cold oven, a very hard pull with not enough battery can do this.

but it also resets that message after switching it off and on.

New mightys won't do the error 004 anymore. If they do the heater is really dead. But their housing can break, too, like mine did. (I babied it, too. My touch screen mobile phone which is surviving already 2 years with me is jealous)

I buyed a minivap because I hated S&B for selling me even two crappy plastic units (mighty and crafty). Guess what. The MV costs nearly twice and is defective, too:bang:
And, if that wasn't enough, I started to realize I prefer the S&B units for some reasons, anyway. Should have bought a 2nd crafty and Mighty for backup instead of one MV, but perhaps I'm just a little bit :mental:

Damn technology. I love the vapor production, efficiency and ease of use of the Crafty but as many have stated before it is a delicate piece of kit. Tonight is my last night with the Crafty , keep staring at it across the room thinking of the good times we had . I will try and trade this in for a Firefly from the retailer I purchased it from, will be getting a Volcano in a couple of months also . Don't let my post deter any future adopters of the Crafty or Mighty; It really is an amazing piece of technology and IMO is not intended for heavy users. I am sure they will be fixing these issues soon as Michel said.

Hi Very high
Sad to hear when Craftys break after a month. I am a clumsy medicated bastard sometimes and dropped my crafty many a time. Its turned 4 months old with 70hrs and still going like a beast, trying some diff temps again 165C starting with a 20C boost  Still hoping some clever bod on here swaps the battery out for a bigger one and I can magically follow the process on mine :ninja:

what makes you say that bro? If you go through a wear and tear set a year and maybe a few plastic pieces might fall off, it still works right? I'm at 36 hours consider myself a heavy user.

@Weez65 you look like the mobile crafty mad scientist with that thing lol *high five*

I don't know what you mean by a wear and tear set a year ? The housing of my Crafty broke, don't know if you misread my post or if I was just unclear. But for me the plastic breaking on the housing is a deal breaker for me especially at this price point. The piece really just fell off maybe weakened by heat, never been dropped.

The wear and tear kits (replacement parts) that story and bickel sell on their site.

I feel for you bro, the thought of something happening to my crafty freaks me out! But ultimately, as long as its working, I'll be happy with it.

Hi everybody :)

I just got my crafty a week ago and i'm unsure if my unit is working properly. When I take a pull it takes about 3-5 seconds until I start feeling the vapor. If I pull under 5 seconds I barely get any visible vapor at all. I need to take very hard 10 second hits to get a reasonable amount of vapor from it. Compared to the videos i've seen by from people like the vapecritic I just don't get the same clouds...especially not at the default temp. I've been experimenting with different temps from 180 celcius up to 200 c but even at high temperatures I don't get a lot of visible vapor. I've also used different grinders and I usually grind it super fine and load it up till the top...but it all barely makes a difference. I also need to pull very hard to get anything from it.

Is this normal?

I was really looking forward to this unit but until now I must admit that i'm a little disappointed by it. I love my volcano and I also own a Pax so I know how good units should work. Could my unit be faulty or was I just expecting too much from the crafty? Everybody here seems to love it...

thanks for your advice :)

For the most strains the default temps are fine.
Long puffs can be normal depending on temp and material, but draw resistance shouldn't be to high, much better than pax.
Try to not overgrind your weed. This is not a Mflb or a Pax. A fine grind can clog the upper sieve. Just use a 3 or 4 piece grinder the regular way. The best grind for me is just half the size of a calyxe, depending on strain. It's far away from kief.
Then try to not overpack the filling chamber. Just throw in your weed and tap down very gently! Try out the draw resistance of your unit with an empty bowl. It should be the same with full bowl or you are packing to tight.
Only pack the height of the stainless steel walls. The grey plastic border shouldn't be covered with material.
If still not satisfied, it could be defective or I have to get a Pax NOW!

Lol mad scientist, as I am a tinkerer, I think I like that! :science:

That case is just for dragging my toys around the house with me or to a bros house maybe. I have a couple smaller cases/bags I use for other scenarios. I outlined that in a earlier post.

It's amazing what can be easily kept organized and protected with a good case. The two pics below show my case packed, and unpacked. Every item you see is something I use fairly often, I have a family and choose not to use around any of them, so it's nice to be able to just close the lid, snap two latches, and I'm up and gone with all my goodies in tow and well protected.

And all packed up neatly. The orange squares you see are a silicone oven hot pad bought from wall-mart for a couple dollars. Easy to cut to the shape you need. I use them to keep the glass pieces from clanking off anything but the case foam, or the silicone pieces. They also double as a mini travel hot pad if you need to grab anything to hot to handle. This has not been a issue for me with the crafty, but it has been with other vapes I've owned. Also, by chance, the Orange is the same orange SnB use so they kind of look like they were made for the crafty. lol.

Snug as a bug. *Snap Snap* and I'm on my way.

Thanks for the reply. The draw resistance is actually very low...much lower than the pax.

But it just takes a few seconds of pulling for the vapor to start and I have to pull for about 10 seconds to have a decent cloud. I almost have to inhale a full lung every time. I was expecting the vapor to be instant. :hmm:
