Vortex is reduced to a small hole
Thanks for the explanation. From the pictures the hole still looks pretty big. Is it an improvement on the turbo? I assume you also need a screen for the vortex, as it comes with one. Would a vortex gong be something people would want?

Is this code still valid for an extra battery? I ordered on the 21st or something with the code which brought down the price but also should have included the battery. I reached out to support and they said to check my source haha and it may not be valid anymore. Hmmmfph

I also received my air today and was a little disappointed about no extra battery, but I noticed a couple days before I got it that the extra battery wording is not in the signature any more.

It says this.
A brand new Arizer Air for only 199.95 Canadian Dollars (20+% additional savings for US shoppers with currency conversion) + Free shipping in Canada and USA

Which is still a great deal!

So
I mentioned this in the last page, IMO without the battery is not that great of a deal for Canadians, maybe for those with the US dollar.

Especially those of us who were hoping to save money on shipping. Really woulda liked the free battery...no presents for me lol.

Hey PV, just curious if there are plans to bring back the extra free battery deal for FC?

Then again, 4/20 isn't far....I remember you having a smashing Solo sale last year!

Lol thank you. Your reply made me feel a little better about complaining but it's not really a chip as much as what looks like a small cut mark? It's not real deep but sharp to the touch. To be clear though they did offer me a replacement . However it was when I told them I was uncomfortable with shipping back due to where I live that I guess prompted the rude reply?
You wouldnt be the first one. There CS could use some work IME. Please dont let anyone make you feel bad. You have the product in front of you and seems like a very reasonable thing to discuss. At this stage if your not comfortable shipping it back, I would suggest just using it and enjoying. Thank you for posting your experience.

How does it work? Do you like the "vortex" effect (for lack of a better term)?

mod note: This post and the one following have been moved to the proper thread.

Thank you for your kind words and as requested I won't bring my experience up again but all that aside about the vortex, the only other stems I have to compare it to are the stock ones but that being said those stock stems have been soaking in the ISO since I received the vortex:tup: I do enjoy it alot more then both the stock ones.

I get it there's a lot of frustration over the supply of PVHES in general, and especially the Vortex. Some have said PV is exploiting this to keep demand up. Which can often be the case, but IMO it's not evident here.

The classical response to a limited supply advantage in free markets by those wishing to exploit it for profit is not to delay products (and therefore delay your profit) but to RAISE THE PRICE to "what the market will bear". Since PV for practical purposes 'owns the market' here I think we'd see a situation where there was stock most of the time, but at higher prices. They'd sell as many stems, just make LOTS more money.

Right?

IMO PV's got white hats all around. They take care of us, listen to what we want, support this Forum. They've got a lot of my money over the years, I expect them to get more of it in the future. Supporting such vendors feels good, at least to me. We need more of that action.

Yeah, I'm honestly amazed that they keep the prices for the PVHES so low, considering the extra labour and precision that goes into each stem. People have been complaining about the availability of the PVHES since they first started selling them, you can look back in this thread to see evidence of that. I'm also happy to support their continued R&D in creating the PVHES and vortex stems. I'm sure they would love to have an unlimited supply of PVHES, it would be like printing money, sadly that doesn't seem to be the case - in a perfect world...

When I picked up the Air (w/extra battery) I was in touch with them asking that they hold the Air order and ship when a Vortex came into stock. They were GREAT. Vortex came into stock for a short time and they helped me grab one and ship together. I also wanted several Air accessories that were not even posted yet.

I understand and sympathize with everyone who wants several GonGs but only one kind is in stock. Message PV and they may decide to hold the order or maybe only charge one shipping fee for several orders.

I can't speak for PV, but we all have to be fair, I don't think it is fair to ask them to "hold" one or two small items, but if you have a vape or several GonGs in your order but are missing one or two items I would recommend being in touch instead of complaining.

I believe that all of the sponsoring retailers will help out FC members, but remember, they are in business to make money. I wouldn't feel right after picking up a AMAZING deal on the Air, I could not get myself to ask them to throw in screens or anything other freebie.

To me shortages are pretty normal with popular glass stuff from companies that aren't giant. Another place I shop at a lot always has trouble keeping their custom nibblers/bubblers in stock. There's usually long delays in getting another shipment from their glass people too.

Ok.... I think now PV is trying to blame me for the chip in the stem. Yesterday things seemed fine. Today they sent me a message saying that chip is too big to have been missed by QC (same thing i was thinking) and that it looks like impact damage... It DOES look like impact damage.... But not by me. I emailed them about it same day i received it and did so before ever even using it.

Even after everything. The overcharged shipping fees for slower shipping services, waiting forever and then receiving a chipped stem, i still kept it cool and gave the company the benefit of the doubt... And now they are trying to pass the blame off on me....

What i have learned about this company is they are great until something goes wrong. I think most people speak so highly about them because they have a monopoly on high efficiency glass stems, NOT because they have great service and caring individuals working there.

Great, so you agree with them, it's not sloppy QC.....they would not have shipped such a stem. A human there was the last to handle it before the box got closed, based on the photo I'd agree 'nobody could miss that one'. Packing or shipping seem most likely, did you explore that with them? How was the package? Was the packing tight? That sorta stuff.

FWIW I think you're dead wrong with your estimate of the quality of CS at PV. A large number of us have experience of 'above and beyond' duty in that area and have posted as much. Lots of problems quickly and effectively addressed. The don't always hide from problems, IMO quite the opposite.

I also agree, this is not the right Forum to be attacking PV on, this one's about Arizer and the Air. Sticks has it right, take that stuff to the appropriate thread were you might get some help? Otherwise, I suggest you renew the contact with them, and perhaps describe the packing (did you look for the chip of glass?) and so on and see what the replacement options are. Otherwise, pack it up and send it back for credit and order another? IMO the stem is nice enough to expend some extra effort to get one, but that's your call.

Good luck with it.

I am actually dealing with them at the moment about a chip in my stem. They seem to be very nice about it. They don't have the vortex stems in stock at the moment and stated they will send a new one when they get them in , so we will see how this goes. I sent them pictures also and they may have just missed it when shipping out bc its not so big but you have a pretty big chip there , it may have happened during shipping .
