MiniVAP Vaporizer

But I like it!
Is that a polyprop whip material, against the MVs silicone whip material? I'm thinking mating silicone to silicone would be a kludge at best, without some sort of glass between the two. I used one of my EQ pieces to cobble a longer whip together for the INH. I guess anything is possible.

Would you really take this skiing in your jacket? I tried taking a couple of cans of beer with me once, and that didn't end well at all :)

@Smknbud Thanks! I haven't read that in the manual yet! It was only there for a brief period til I turned it off.

I'm using it right now, on blue. This really is a lovely piece of kit! I can see why people like it so much!

I'm not really sure what the VB hose is made of. According to Medical Jane,

"The hose material used to make the whip is also specially formulated for Vapor Brothers, and is free of toxic substances such as BPA, Phthalates (DEHP Free), and many more that are common to plastic tubing."

Vapor Brothers is a lot more careful with healthy vaping than many companies so I'm trusting the material. If anyone knows exactly what it is, I'd love to know too.

As far as skiing with a MV, most definitely! I mostly go backcountry and carry a big pack though. When you're weighed down with avalanche and safety gear, one more important piece of safety gear is barely noticeable

Edit:

One of the ways I tried to use the AquaVape was with a 7th floor whip which is a little larger diameter. That tubing fits easier on the AquaVape nipple and is also a great fit around the little ring on the top of the MV lid. Then you just use the regular flexicone/basket module with MV lid and slip on the 7th floor whip on top of the lid. It works great but doesn't stay on quite as well as the other method.

With the VB whip and cut flexicone+, I can actually lift the whole MV and battery by the whip and it stays connected with the friction fit!

I bought the same thing some time ago. It's a nice piece of kit for sure. The only thing that worried me about it, is that an inadvertent exhale during use and it empties out.....down that tube into the MV. My setup was only as long as the Flexicone+ though, so your setup with the longer tube is probably the way I should go.

Pic of how I used it (That's my old black unit) - :rip::

Nice...looks like you used the 7th floor tubing and just slid it over the longer flexicone+?

That's exactly what I did. That tubing, which I also use with my glass straw, but a small piece, fits nice and snug over lid nipple.

@Kommyknocker ......hope your turnaround time for replacement doesn't top my 55 day wait for #3 it took from VN (not really their fault though).

I just bought one of these and I'm quite confused on how to load the bowl. Do I put directly in the chamber and put one of those baskets on the top of it to act as a filter and seal it with that cap like piece? I just want to make sure I'm doing it correctly. Any other tips and tricks that you guys could share would be nice, I have the black teflon version. Thank you

i load mine in the basket to keep the chamber clean and increase convection. You can pack it into the chamber if you want and use the flexicone with a flat screen only to cover it up. If you use a basket, make sure to use a flat screen on top of it to keep the herb in the basket.

I'm noticing that the sessions aren't as long on the TC compared to the GC, as in it's turning itself off sooner. I've also noticed an odd humming noise, not sure if it's coming from the core or the battery as I've not had time to try the GC to see if the noise disappears.

I noticed that differences too. The noise is from the regulator, inside the mv, not in the battery pack. I may have been used to it already or it has faded because it doesn't bother me a bit.

@Smknbud I will make a short video with the glass bowl to show you what it's looking like.

The gcmv really is a killer vape. You don't have to pull volume like on the tcmv, the heat really penetrates the load faster. Theses two have a very different taste profile and effects. I feel a nice cotton mouth (drinking a lot of water) from only two little bowls.. Using both mv's, one at a time on a load.

I want to try the double mv's thing but I'm already too blasted, more and I can't get shit done.

Their instructions are poor.
Most use flexicone. Picture below. Basket size of your choice, load bud, place included round screen into flexicone so herb won't be sucked into whip, snap basket into cover, attach whip/mouthpiece of your choice , go for it.

Same concept with flexicone plus, the white cap and attached 6" whip. Can load it stick whip thru cover and enjoy.

You can load herb directly into chamber but I never do this. With the baskets, the chamber styas
REMARKABLY clean !!!!

If you use the smaller flexicone, then as an added bonus you can convert to bubbler use in 3 seconds.
Unscrew cover, remove flexicone, invert the flexicone into bubbler (pictured below), and invert mV over it and try the moisturized and cooled vapor.

Hoping much the same thing.. Time shall tell. I see someone mentioned Vapefiend not dealing with returns through their own stock, and are instead sending to Hermes straight away. If this is the case they've changed how the deal. Only on my 3rd unit did Hermes get involved directly and that was down to VF not having my colour.. Then him wanting to ensure I got a core that was most definitely not from the apparently crusty batch.

@MinnBobber.. You need to add your tutorial to the vaporpedia.. Uh huh.

MinnBobber, you are a king. I was putting it in a basket and I didn't put a screen on top so it just blew in my mouth so I figured that wasn't correct. It took about 13 minutes to fully warm up which threw me off because I wasn't sure if it was working properly. I'll follow your instruction and it should definitely be a better experience.

But I like it!
I just found an EQ elbow with 5 inches of poly whip on it. The MV whip pops right into the EQ whip, which is now popped in a 12" bubbler. Rawk and roll :)

edit - It looks almost exactly like @mixchu69 , which popped up as soon as I posted this message - great minds and all that stuff... ;)

Edit 2 - just tried the wee flexicone upside down on a bubbler. Gawd this thing is a bit of a train! It seems to need a good strong inhale to get started, but once it gets started it just keeps going!

Great to see all these new MV owners. Like @mixchu69 welcome to the fam!!!
I'm wondering what the difference in the firmware from the 2013 tcmv, which is what I have, is to the current tcmv. Because it doesn't take a strong inhale to get mine going . Start sipping and in 2-3 seconds you've got some dense medicating clouds in your lungs.
With all the new updates and such ,I am quite content with the model an core I have. The taste is unmatched and the cloud production is in the same category.

Thanks for the warm introduction. I have had mine since dec 2014 and all problems that I might have whined about is attributed to my own user error. I use mine so much that my mighty is often neglected.

Hello everybody,

I am one of the new minivap users, too, but only because I needed a backup unit for my broken mighty and because of VAS of course (I have some other vaporizers already to survive without the mighty, like the crafty :) )
Didn't want to get something inferior to the mighty (which happened anyway, I suggest) so I pulled the trigger for the tcmv 2014.

I am really not impressed by it (most of the times). I have to inhale hard and so much hot air to get some small clouds that I am coughing like crazy. Can't tell anyone who don't now about vaporizers that this is healthier than smoking. But I did not want to give up so early.
Sometimes it does work like a charm and I am wondering why I'm even talking about other vaporizers. Smooth, tasteful hits with big clouds from 5-7 seconds inhalation without coughing. So smooth I wouldn't believe if I couldn't see it.
Sometimes I get barely some clouds. I'm coughing most of the time, sometimes with clouds, sometimes without clouds.
I want to enjoy my f******g 519.-€ Tier 1 vape like you do all, but seriously, it is a PITA. Charging the basket and not getting big clouds can be very annoying if I have time pressure or haven't the mighty with me. It tends me to not use it at all. Only for demonstration for guests visiting me. Expensive entertainment for guests.
If it weren't so beautiful and expensive, I would smash it against the wall...

Out of 10 sessions:
3 sessions are amazing, 5 are ok but inferior to the mighty and 2 sessions are getting spend without giving real clouds at all.
I tried everything from small to no basket, flexicone, Teflon cone, whip style, no cap or cap with washer / shim / o-ring from mighty to increase air seal, slight pack, dense pack, coarse grind, fine grind, nothing is really satisfying. Next step is to remove the first of the sieves and charge directly to give less space of the load to the heater. The only big clouds I get are when starting directly on red, sometimes green. I think to remember getting some clouds on pink, too, when the unit was new, but I don't use pink or blue anymore.
Perhaps I should mention I'm hitting only dry with flexicone+ and 10cm silicone whip and the glass stem of the mflb.
I don't want to sound like a S&B fanboy or a minivap hater, but I am really disappointed. Is it possible that my unit is defective? I get this humming sound when the device is heating, I can hear it too loud, I think.
My throat is irritated after 2 or 3 big baskets. Never expected this with mighty or volcano.

I am open to any suggestions. Perhaps I should get a gcmv. As I read a 2-3 seconds draw is enough for big clouds.

Sometimes the front light stops blinking and goes black like the unit is frozen. No reaction to button press'.I have to disconnect the batterie to reset the Unit.
Often when turning the MV on, the front light goes solid for 1 minute or so before it starts blinking.
It doesn't get hot enough to finish the small bowl with pure kief. I have to finish the darkened kief in another vaporizer, looks like 2nd degree hash when out of the MV but fairly away from finished because I can get some more good hits.
Should I send it in for repair and hope for an updated gcmv?

Excuse my misspelling , I am a German user not native English speaking. If I wasn't clear or misunderstanding, excuse I am enjoying the mighty back from repair for several hours now!

It seems the gradual power drop is a known issue.. Seems like blue gave kickass tasty clouds/red was ridiculous clouds.. Toward the end blue was nothing.. Pink almost the same. Green and red was probably comparable to blue and pink when I first received my units. Once my repair/replacement arrives I'll be able to test this theory.
