So you guys just stick in a whole bud (say about .3g) and don't grind it? Do you break it apart with your hands? Or is herbie that good that I don't have to grind anymore? So many questions soon to be answered.

Herbalizer retest #2

Loosely broke up some bud with my fingers and loaded Herbie.
MAX temp yielded some good sized clouds with good flavour!
Opened bowl and decided to crumble and i was not getting any more vapour.
A few small clouds, taste was okay.
This was all taking regular inhalations. Then i turned on the turbo lung!!!
Way more vapour but i started to cough a lot again!

After that i got a serious bout of the sweats and heat waves!
Very medicated now!

Once again i now know why i was going through so much bud with just using Herbie!!!
Guess it is like a luxury car that takes premium gas!!

I break it up into small bits with my fingers or a small pair of scissors.
Load that and take a few hits, usually 3 to 5 and then open and crumble the load.
Hit it again until you have extracted all the goodies!

If you have some good shatter, keep a bit for use with Herbie, the aroma pad and a balloon!!!
You are going to LOVE it!!!

First session with herbie and properly medicated. I use about .1g to begin my sess, but the herbie made it a complete meal. This medication is very different, haven't felt like this in a long time. The fan assist is just brilliant.

Edit: Has anybody had recent success with different temps? I plan to taste the full spectrum, but want to hear the seasoned FC vaporists favorite temperature, with or without fan assist. I'm still a vaping newb, learning more and more everyday. I don't like comparing vaporizers because they all have their own signatures, but herbie is the king.

A classic herbalizer post...this is the only thread on this forum I have seen vaporists discerning the differences between five and ten degree bumps! I think it was about 100 pages ago Vitolo was mentioning his favorite spot was five degrees less than another member's sweet spot. It's a great time to be a vaporist!

I used to top out at 420 also Madcap79. I now like the boost up to 433 for evening but usually work in some bags at 375 to 410 during my morning medication in the wee hours of the morning before work.

Well. Carrie at Herbalizer is awesome. My broken Herbie is already shipping back to HQ. She sent me a UPS label, I printed it, packed my Herbie in a box and dropped it off at UPS. She made it a no questions warranty issue, and I am on my way. That's how its done!

Can't wait to get it back. Yesterday was rough!

But actually my Pax is helping me pull through. I seriously almost impulse-bought a Plenty just to make it.

Opting for a Magical Butter, gonna do an edibles kick while Herbie is gone. Stay off the smoke, stay OFF the smoke!

On the temps thing...

I'm a 395, 417, 420, and 445 guy on a cycle.

Right now I am hooked on 420, it gives nearly as much blast as 445, with a slight edge on flavor.

On the flavor tip: I have to say, if you aren't vaping strictly soil-grown true organic herb from Herbie... you haven't hit the mountain top yet. Soil-grown "water only" style organics taste so good, it makes you look around to see if anyone can see inside your head! Feels almost naughty. Watch out for impostors, though, everyone will say they are organic... just ask if they eat their leaves. If they don't, don't vape their bud!

Lecture over, sorry if you've all heard that before.

But if not, seriously ask for this at your local, you won't regret it. The potency, and clean-ness brings the vaping experience up 20 notches.

I'm with @Madcap79 in the fact I'll start with the low temps. (Sometimes going even lower if I have some flower that is particularly tasty and I want to savor the flavor.) Like @lazylightning, however, I usually top out around 390°F. (in part because benzene, but more about that burnt popcorn that I'm really sensitive to). Rarely will I go into 420°F, but have on occasion.

I'll def stay in lower temps during the day. Evenings I'll temp-step, starting low and bump temps by ~10°F (yup, @stickstones was on point) when I feel it has been exhausted at that point. I feel I get the most out of it as an experience (with my handheld, I can get 40 min sessions off of one bowl... Herbie is more of a powerhouse, so it is harder to go slow, but the bags help.), but others want that "punch in the face" of everything at once.

But really, it's all about "what works best for YOU" as there is no right answer. What a huge improvement this is over the old-style of consumption (which we say "fuck" to) where one's choice is "everything or nothing." With the Herbie, we each get to pick the experience that is right for us. Or just right for right now. :)


In terms of the fan assist, I'm not sure that will have too much effect on different temps, as Herbie was designed to keep the temp fixed regardless of airflow speed. You'll certainly get more extraction with more airflow, but it shouldn't change at a fixed temp (other than just MORE!).

I never checked back in after getting back my repaired herbalizer about a month ago. It's been working great, no issues to report. I haven't tried using concentrates tho, so I'll chime back in next time I have some or I have something else to share. :) Have a good day everyone!

I have horrible pain now, so I mostly use Herbie at 445F, but I'll drop it down to 420F during the day, sometimes lower. I have to play around a bit with the temp during the day because I need a lot of pain relief, but I can't be a zombie. I'm glad that I have my Herbalizer, and am able to do that.

Hope you feel better. This is the reason I bought the herbie: set to temperature to meet exactly what I need. In major pain, crank it up and get all the sedative and pain relief combo. In the morning for a functional high, set it lower. I think I need a t break soon. Hitting all my vapes hard these past 2 weeks but it has been so much fun.

I will say the esv is the portable herbie. Obviously not as powerful, but on demand convection hits with great flavor. But please don't trust my taste buds because all my vaporizers taste good to me. Technology has helped this industry flourish with some real great vaporizers.

Stickstones gave me a great pointer with shatter...sandwich it between two herbie concentrate pads. Cranked it up to 445, turned on some fan assist and got some great convection dabbing, one of the main reasons why I bought the herbie. After a 5 second blast of fan assist, I didn't need to use it again as I got a steady stream of vapor from regular pulls. I had to stop because it wouldn't stop. I love this machine.

Works great with kief and bubble sandwhiched inbetween too

Yeah I've been following @Engineer's thread and waiting for him to grace us with his presence once again! Would be awesome to hear what's in the works! Till then, I'm really wanting a Herbie again, and working on getting one soon! I really miss that super high quality thick tasty blue vapour.
