Our rule is that you cannot post private correspondence without the consent of both parties. In practice, if the email simply conveys information that the sender is unlikely to refuse to make public and provides information useful to the community, we let it go. In your case, you wanted to post private messages that the sender clearly would not have agreed to make public. We do not allow that and if posted, they will be removed.

Not private messages. I asked if I could post an email from S&B that claimed they had solved all the problems with the units back on JAN 10th.

It was the same day someone posted an email from S&B claiming they wouldn't have the problems fixed for weeks. I asked if I could post it and was told no.

The Crafty lived up to its name this weekend, in a vacation home with several other couples who would not approve. With just a little care, insomnia was eliminated. Rather than trying to kill the load by starting low, then boosting, I just went for the boost.

This leads me to a question... I you had to pick ONE temp to enjoy your flower, what would it be?

I like the max temp... A lot! :D

Email is private correspondence. This was explained to you at the time. If you think you've been treated unfairly, take it up in a PM to a moderator.

I've been enjoying 200c recently, it's becoming my go to temp. 180c gives a really nice flavour. Love either setting. At 40 hours now in 6 weeks, and still going strong.

DoubleVanos,
My Crafty will be delivered today and I have a couple of questions:

Do I need to perform a burn-off to get rid of any plastic taste?
Is there a way to confirm that I got a 2015 model with 2.05 firmware other than the device connecting to Android 5.0?
Anything else I should be aware of?

66hrs and still puffing clouds :leaf: Still getting about 35-40mins worth of battery.
thats great man, its still your first unit?

on another note, I just bought that whip the guy is using in the above video and a "
10" Fritted disc Water Pipe Bong with Tornado Cyclone perc two functions D020-2S" to setup to my crafty.

I know water filtration is not necessary with the crafty but I love this thing so much Im excited to take it to the next level. :)

U could always do a burn off, I don't see it harming anything. I didn't when I received mine. Just charged it, and enjoyed the mega clouds. The only way I know to check firmware is to connect to the app.

Does anyone recall in the past if S&B has done any sort of April 20 discount? I am on the edge of the diving board and ready to jump in to the crafty/mighty waters but was wondering if I should support the local shops or go online.

The canadian exchange rate is currently pretty favorable for those just south.
edit: but idk how that might potentially affect warranty service :hmm:

So my search to get the crafty cheaper than $400 took a drastic turn. I went to buy it in person at the place who quoted me $380 and ultimately wouldn't take less than $420 because it was their last one, which I though was pretty BS so I just got it directly from S&B. Everyone else is out of stock and the free overnight made it the fastest/cheapest option.

Hello from Germany,

I just posted this in the mighty thread. Hopes it is no problem to cross- and double- post but I thought there might be some interesting informations. If not please apologize and feel free to remove.
Just wanted to ad I have a crafty with 75 hours of usage. The housing is starting to break around the filling chamber. I am honest, I don't now if it was me dropping the unit while walking with the dog or if it's the same problem like on my mighty which just came back from warranty, but I realized the crack just after inspecting the unit after a very hard drop!

Had to send in my Mighty because the housing was broken around the Filling Chamber. Got back a brand new Mighty with serial number near 12000.

So far so god. Realized some new things and got some information from a S&B Engineer.
-new o-rings in very light blue
-the cooling unit turns with less effort till it snaps hard toward the last angle. Hope this prevents from breaking in the near future.
-the cooling unit is aligned 100% with the heater
-no more loose batteries or heater. They are fixed with foam rubber. When jiggling the device there is nothing to hear
-because of the foam rubber there is no more cracking of the housing
-the mouth piece does take more effort to turn out
-the device feels more solid in general
-the temperature drop with full batteries to reset the 1 minute shut off does finally work like supposed to (or the minivap has trained my lungs in absence of the mighty)
- no more error 004 in the new firmware. Error 004 means heater not working. Some of us me including have such heavy draws, the unit thinks the heater is dead because of massive temperature drops over 30 seconds
-vibration working good so far when attempting temperature

They are working on a lot of problems mentioned in this thread ( I read the entire mighty and crafty thread, I own both and some more devices ).

The breaking housing should be resolved in the near future. They are apologizing much for this and we're sending out the new device sealed with accessories. Hole procedure took 5 days since sending out the broken device.

They are working on a new firmware with a two point controller to make sure the unit is vibrating because temperature level is overhit like the crafty does. Look at the temperature of the display on your mighty. The unit is approaching the set temperature very slowly which results in not vibrating sometimes with empty batteries....

They have a solution for the 4 breaking cooling rips around the filling chamber but not implemented this in production yet, apologizing again.

The design of the mighty not standing or lying flat down was a design decision from one of the managers. Guess out which one ourself, don't want to tell to much.

They thought of much more like a grinder attached to the filling aid, about the size of the sieves ( I was complaining about the coarse ones but the decision is justified for people not cleaning the chamber directly after use, the fine sieve will clog to fast) , the clear plug of the filling unit not being closed or even a pressure sensor for recognizing a draw to reset the timer..I promise you there aren't much things they didn't think of in the last 3 years of the developing work. These guys are genius'. Was discussing some more ideas I had (studying engineering in the last semesters and long time stoner) and you guys of the forum had and for every thought there is a justification apart of the housing breaking and the mighty not standing upwards.

Excuse misspelling and grammar, I am German and this is my first post. Hope it is not too long but I wanted to share the Infos I got from S&B for thank you for your infos I got lurking around here after buying my first vaporizer in 2013.

Just got my replacement back took 8 days round trip so speedy turn around. This time they just replaced the unit with a repaired unit. Has the new light blue o ring and firmware 2.06 but shows 41 hours on it. Was wondering if anyone has heard if they are replacing the battery on the refurbished units?

@HerbieVonVapster

Did the light blue o-ring change the locking snap of the cooling unit? It turns without effort till the notch, then snaps in?
Just got a Mighty with the new o-rings and realized some difference. Figuring out if it's the housing, the CU or the sealings...

I doubt it would be the housing if they are re-furbishing units. Can anyone confirm if the angle of the interlocking part of the CU has been been changed to a less severe slope to limit the tension between the unit and CU?

Here's a pic of my OG CU for reference:

Well replacement did not include the cooling unit so no change there. Unit has a lower serial number than one I sent back so no change in housing. I did notice it clicked in better so if any change it would be the o-ring.

I tried some old CU's from my first unit, from an older wear and tear set and the one of the Crafty with Serial 2000 (all with dark blue or red o-rings) and I can confirm it is the light blue o-ring which applies less pressure between CU and the housing.

Like I posted above, I got the information from S&B there are no changes of the body or the CU yet, but already planed. Just wanted to check myself because I wasn't told about the new o-rings...
So I hope there is a mighty 2.0 in the real near future but they didn't tell me when!

Perhaps if you have one of the earlier models, you should change the o-ring around the filling chamber with a light blue one? Not sure if this really prevents from breaking...

Thanks for all this information. It's nice to hear a bit about how S&B do things, and all the improvements they have made. I'm a huge fan of german products and their sophisticated engineering. IMO it is second to none.

I'm SO pissed right now. I was trying to fit the silicone from the extreme q whip to attach to the bubbler and I guess I was too rough and broke a little piece of the mouth piece off.

crap on a stick! it still fits but i will be buying a replacement today or tomorrow. warning to all, those little teeth on the mouth piece are very delicate.
