Crafty/Crafty+ by Storz & Bickel

I first called the shop where i bought the vaporizer today. On the phone i got a guy that has been using vaporizers for years and he said it's not normal for the crafty to have a plastic taste. I was the first one he ever spoke to who called for having that problem (he didn't now if there where a lot of others). They also asked me to call storz & bickel, so i did. they told me to send the unit back because it's not normal and could be really bad for your health (slow-melting/burning plastic, chemicals, etc it's kinda logical.. burning/melting plastic is REALY BAD). The shop where i bought it is gonna check it when they get it and if it's a bad unit i'm getting a new one (i still have 30 days money back guarantee).

I'd rather be safe sending it back and getting the news that nothings wrong with it and that its just me focussing on that taste (or maybe smell of the hot air?), instead of smoking it for years and burning my lungs to pieces with burned plastic..

Also today i noticed that one of the blue rings (the one in the cooling unit) has cuts in it and is kinda melted (not heavy but it felt a bit dried out) it broke immediately when i did it off the holder. Maybe thats what gave me a bad taste. Only have it a week and that ring already broken so thats really weird in my eyes.

Hope this helps you out and doesn't make you paranoid, the guy i spoke to said it's really rare for having an weird taste.
Stay healthy, it's the purpose of switching to vaporizers. ;)

I will be interested to know what happens. In particular when you get your crafty back or another one, to see if you still taste the plastic.

I just read that the mighty won't stand upright, at least without a kickstand. I'm glad the crafty doesn't have this issue. I guess it's case night, as my 1/2-price ryot case came in today. I took out the pocket, straps, velcro and stitching; here's a before and after.

It fits pretty good, it's soft-sided without padding but has some stiff inserts. It's more for discretion than protection. It still has sleeve pockets inside and out, I can use the outside one for a small usb cable if I want. I'll use the inside pocket for a folded bounce sheet, since I think the only smell-proof part of this case is the small pouch that I removed. Now it's a bit more crafty lol.

Nice cases guys! I need to find myself one at some point as well. I have been carrying my precious in a microfibre glass case since I got it and luckily I had no serious drops but I should protect it a bit more in the future I think... :p

I have been having so much fun with the Crafty! It's the new standard for me... I had a nice bowl of a well cured herb last night and started at 165C and the taste was out of the world together with nice clouds! By the time I went to 180C there wasn't much left in there. :) It's all in the strain! A quick swabbing inside the CU with a q-tip after a couple of bowls also gives me a nice and very cloudy long session of reclaim with ok taste and very strong results as well as a clean CU that now needs very little maintenance! Try it people. :) No ISO NEEDED! :)

Hey guys, I'm looking to purchase a crafty and I'm wondering where is the best place. The cheapest I've found it is on everyonedoesit.com, but if possible I'd like to get it from a US site so it arrives sooner. Also not sure if their's is the updated version. I would also be willing to purchase in person, if anyone knows any shops in the Boston area that carry it. Thanks in advance.

Most online vendors will sell at MSRP, which is $399+ tax. It will be difficult to find cheaper. S&B products are rarely discounted, and many vendors offer freebies at the most. Local head shops probably sell for even more. Just look for a US online vendor with free shipping. Vapeworld is one i know of the top of my head.

I am just now seeing that everyonedoesit claims to ship the crafty from the US. The price is $315, almost too good to be true. There has to be a catch right? I would prefer to use one of the forum sponsors, but so far those who have gotten back to me were not able to match the price.

I just looked and the picture is with a Euro 220V plug.

The Mighty/Crafty are NOT listed in their USA vaporizer area so that may be the catch???

Their site also lists the crafty and mighty as made in the US, maybe it's an honest mistake, but errors like that are not good in my books. The prices seem lower than I've seen anywhere else, what are the shipping costs like ?

Shipping is free. I think I'm going to pull the trigger, I tried to support our sponsors, but they are either out of stock or unwilling to move on price.

If that is indeed the case , then it's the best price anywhere by far. Great deal IMO.

I just found one locally for $380, might do that since I'm impatient and like to support the local shops.

Couldn't hurt to contact S&B and make sure its coming from an Authorized Dealer or no warranty.

:peace:

.
S&B told me there are no such thing as authorised sellers, if the serial number is legit it's covered. I checked with them before buying

OK disagree with me, I can't force you to be right

That's interesting. When I made a similar inquiry about a month ago they confirmed directly the vendor was authorized.
I wonder how would you check the serial number until you actually have the unit and where would you check it?

I checked with s&b Germany if that makes a difference.
It was also about a month ago when I warrantied my unit.
Here is response below

thank you for your response.

We do not work with official resellers so I regret I can’t answer your question about --------. The best way to make sure that you get an original Storz & Bickel Vaporizer is to purchase it with us directly ;) A good indicator would be the serial number of the vaporizer too.

We hope this information is of assistance for you.

Please contact us if you have more questions.

Kind regards

Are we allowed to post emails on here now? I asked if I could post an email from S&B a few months back and was told no.

do you guys think the YQ-42 might be overkill to use with my crafty?

I'm thinking of using this setup.

Great Scott!
I finally sent mine in to be upgraded to work with 5.0+ lol. I couldn't take it anymore at 35 hours, most of those at default temps.

I still think it sucks that they are having us do it, hopefully this isn't a common issue with major updates. I'm sure 6.0 will come out before my 3 year warranty is up...

Our rule is that you cannot post private correspondence without the consent of both parties. In practice, if the email simply conveys information that the sender is unlikely to refuse to make public and provides information useful to the community, we let it go. In your case, you wanted to post private messages that the sender clearly would not have agreed to make public. We do not allow that and if posted, they will be removed.

S&B requires all authorized resellers to report who they sold the vapes to by serial number. If a reseller doesn't report it they risk being cut off. As long as you go with an authorized reseller your warranty is protected, unless they want to shoot themselves in the foot.

The Crafty lived up to its name this weekend, in a vacation home with several other couples who would not approve. With just a little care, insomnia was eliminated. Rather than trying to kill the load by starting low, then boosting, I just went for the boost.

This leads me to a question... I you had to pick ONE temp to enjoy your flower, what would it be?

For me it would be 193 c with a full chamber. throat gets irritated on the stock boost setting as on the second toke the temperature goes up to 198 c .
