What is the best pen for vaping wax/dabs?

I have been vaping buds for some time. Started out with a Vaporwarez Vapor Cannon, then got a Magic Flite Launch Box. That one worked so well that when I wore it out, i obtained another one.
Recently my friends have been getting into vaping waxes and 'dabs.' I am a total neophyte with these 'concentrates' but i like the effects i can get from one good hit. It just seems more efficient and effective than the Launch Box.
So here are my most important criteria as i start to research for this potential purchase:
1. Not made in China. I am very concerned about exposing myself to contaminants from chinese components and manufacturing. This is a big part of why i am a Magic Flite user.
2. Battery operated. I will be using this in my house quite a bit, but on the golf course and ski slopes too, so butane based systems are right out. I want something i can charge, load, and go, that will deliver a quick, powerful hit to me and my golfing buds.
This product field seems like it has gotten a lot more crowded since the last time i researched before getting a vaporizer. I don't have any idea where to start so any suggestions that conform to my criteria will be greatly appreciated!

What about the Arizer Air? You could use concentrates together with your herb. You could put your concentrates wrapped in cotton. I believe the Air is made in Canada. It's about the size of a larger ecig and is stealth. Do some research on the Air thread.

This would be something that's made for herb, but concentrates will work. Its not really small like the Dabbler.

It's a very sturdy unit that gives great vapor flavor. Arizer is a well known company that backs it's products. This vape comes with a user replaceable battery. Check it out.

You can use cotton to wrap shatter and wax in vaporizers that are made for herb. I use wax with the Air but I use it inside my herb, like a wax herb sandwich.

Any pen you get on w9tech.com would be FC approved. I would suggest the Minicron to start off. Read the last dozen pages of these threads:

i'd like to know if it's possible to use wax at 470°F in a conduction vaporizer . Is it enough?

(i have found informations about the temperatures to vaporize different variety of plants but for the wax it's not defined or i have not found the topic!).

You very likely expose yourself every day- everything from phone use, computers and TV's to kitchen ware. Try finding consumer electronics that aren't made in China or some other country with few regulations and low labor rates. Not everything made in China is toxic, nor is everything made in the U.S. safe.

I second the motion for W9 devices... quality is universally high. I was where you were about 6-9 months ago and did the same research. I say if you are just starting out get an Ophos or Omicron with the KISS cartridge. Though I also like their older e-cig like disposable cartridges where you load in a full gram and you are good to go anytime/anywhere without having to reload.

IMO while you can get away with concentrates in some herb vapes, its hard to beat the portability, ease of use, and battery life you get with a dedicated pen. That's part of the beauty of the concentrate experience IMO. You're in/out quickly with little hassle.

How much wax do you go through? Vape pens work okay if you use modest amounts. If you are going to dose multiple times a day, IMO a vape pen just will not do. They don't vape as cleanly when overloaded, which I was tempted to do to get bigger clouds. Cleaning and rebuilding vape pen atomizers is hard work because of small delicate parts. Some parts (seals, coils) ultimately fail so they can have a limited lifespan, even if you diligently clean them.

The long term cost of replacing atomizer heads convinced me to shell out for a Hercules SR-74. I am glad I did, and in hindsight it is very low priced for what I got. It is much bulkier than a vape pen, but I was able to make do with that. It is designed to be easy to break down, clean, and rebuild; all the parts are designed to last forever. This is the device that can give a group of people powerful hits while spending 10 hours on the slopes. I can't imagine trying to reload a vape pen while on a ski lift so that I (or my buddy) could take the next hit. I load a gram in my Herc head out the door.

It does not meet your "no made in China" requirement. It is made in China. It is made extremely well in China. The threads are well machined and are buttery smooth. All parts are machined to a level of precision that is reflected in it the Herc's fit and finish. It is designed by a guy in Southern California, who has control over all the materials used in production. He gets high off the Hercules, and designed it to meet the quality he expects/aspires of his own gear. He's probably hitting his Herc right now as I type this. rant: There are too many wax vaping devices out there made by entreprenuers who don't actually vape, much less vape off the devices they produce.

If you like your Launch Box, you should check out the Maud Dib box by Magic Flight. It only holds one small dab at a time, but will last forever like the Herc.

I'm very tempted by the Herc and could almost talk myself into the price, but what kind of battery do you need to run it? I'm picturing a $300 rig by the time it's kitted right, starting from 510s and disposable carts lol

Since you use the mflb, I would agree with the comment above about the maud dib. However, since you asked for a pen, I would go with W9 and buy minicron or omicron lite (I use this) and get a kiss cart with gr 2 titanium before jumping on the hercules. There definitely is a learning curve with the hercules (but if I can get it working, anybody can). When I called w9 and asked for a recommendation from G, he said omicron lite or ophos are good starter vapes. I'm glad that he didn't try to upsell me but answered honestly (the reason he will have my business for life, in addition to the fact that he makes the best oil and concentrate devices on the current market.)

Yeah but the majority of the headlines about lead paint on toys and other contaminants are from China.. And while i see your point (typing this on an iphone) i'm not inhaling fumes from my electronics.
