I was very, very happy with my tcmv. Since I received the gcmv, I almost stopped using the tcmv for testing sake. I happy to say I don't miss the tcmv at all, the taste can be really good on the gcmv too. The high from the gcmv really is strong and tough. The high from the tcmv is also extremely powerfull but more on the I can deal with this/functionnal side. I always go up to red though.

It's fucking me up right now, but I know I will develop a bit of tolerance to theses very high temperature components with time and this is going to get comfortable.

I tell you guys, no more "chasing the dragon" once you have that working mv. On red with the newer models (tcmv and even more on the gcmv) there is that strong indica feeling that you always have craved from vaping it's just crazy. You can feel you have enough of it so quickly, with so little material, but you just keep on doing it because it's so amazing you want to check if it's still real.

They also include some Star Trek FX feature in the gcmV... :borg:
The next version should hover over the table while medicating :brow:

(My MFT camera lens is very light intensive, thats why it glows a bit more then in reallife)

Agree with you from my small experience which i had today, Roger :)

You keep reinforcing my inclination to pick up a GCmV to supplement/compliment, or simply as a back up to the TCmV I have. So far the only thing holding me back is what appears to be the apparent imminent update which will include more end user temperature selections. Itll be a tough wait, but I'm determined.....at the moment at least. ;)

Some good posts, it's great to read other opinions from people who have tried both TC and GC units, again I think the way in which you use your MV will have a big influence on your preference between the two options, there are SO many variables from choice of whip, water or dry, and also type of product you're using.

There's also something to be said for having the choice of GC and TC, so you can alter which one you use depending on what method you're using and the type of herb or product your'e vaping.

Its also possible to buy for now and upgrade the old backup unit whenever you prefer.

Now I`m thinking about to upgrade my old tcmV to a new tcmV, I think this new heating core and firmware is worth to upgrade. But since I don`t now nothing about the pricing for updates I also should wait for the more temp settings and other new possible features ...

Did someone know where to get some information about the firmware from my units ?

Almost there...
@Smknbud
How long was that session?
Going to have to try get to that stage sometime!
I am happy with light brown ABV or even straw coloured.
Once the flavour is mostly gone i usually reload!

Received the new TC core on Friday with latest firmware already have the GC am going to be running some side by side comparisons but initial findings that the TC (as many on here have already said) runs a lot cooler than the GC which I find I can only really use thru a water tool otherwise for the draws I take there's way too much heat.

The TC seems to be a lot more usable dry but have not noticed any huge differences in terms of taste just heat at this stage but more testing def needed!

New firmware as Vapst has said is a lot quicker and also blinks between draws whilst the buttons on the core also are single fast click as opposed to the old hold down for a few seconds type. Much improved I can honestly urge anyone who isn't sure you shouldn't be disappointed in either glass or teflon unit the new versions from my experience so far have been superb.

BTW I have since given up using baskets and now load material direct into the chamber which produces maximum cloudage. I much prefer this method, if you are a cloud chaser I would really recommend ditching those baskets and going straight in!

I concour, I just loaded directly in bowl with decarb kit. Thicker clouds even more now. Seriously this vape so strong I passed out woke up hung over Haha.

I tend to take my time and kick back for going on ten minutes or so and can finish off the large basket. Mind you, I don't pack the basket hard. I probably get 7 good hit's or so out of it. The taste curve is on a downward swing towards the end without question.

Back on the teflon core, the taste is incredible... My new setup : tcmv dry on blue for a taste sip, then gcmv with glass on red for maximal fog. I haven't even tried the double decker with both machines in once.. It's gonna be loud !!

@Roger D I meant to ask before since I believe you have a beta version of the glass bowl/basket, if you could/are allowed to share a photo of what it looks like?

....

Also, for people using the Arizer Elbow screens, are these "dome screens" the correct kind?

http://www.vapornation.com/arizer-screen-pack.html
..................................................................................................
Yes, those are correct.
I just started using mine.
IMO, they work but are not as sturdy as the mV baskets. I was loading one into a new flexicone plus and it seemed on the verge of bending. It did not bend out of shape but I could tell it was close.
So, just be careful with them.

Any others find this too??

Picked it up here in the classifieds from @lazylightning. Gave me a great deal. The fact that it was already here in the U.S. and he also had the decarboxilation kit was what pushed me over.

I also like my 19MM SonG from @Ratchett for use with my other glass.
Hey scottg402,

Do you find the Hermes song a little restrictive? I bought the 14mm, and find the intake side to have too small of an opening. Has it affected your airflow?

If you read through the last few months of posts, you'll see it's a known issue that a number of people have experienced. You should be able to exchange it for another one no problem.

Contacted Vapefiend and they said send it back to them. I hoped VF would take a look at it and say "yep, obviously faulty, here's a new one, we'll sort this one out with Hermes ourselves" but before I sent it back to them they said they won't be able to replace it just like that, they'll need to send it to Hermes to get repaired. Didn't say how long that would take but somehow I doubt less than a week. Any ideas?

At least I have a pinnacle pro to fall back on.

For some reason vapefiend hasn't restocked! Kind of got the feeling they are giving up on it as well!?

I have the 19mm SonG and I think it's pretty open. I know the purists would probably shy away from @Ratchett 's stuff but I really like how easy it is to use and swap in and out.

The 14mm GonG is certainly more restricted but that's also probably because I only really use that one with my PWT which is naturally more restricted then any other glass I own.
