The video confirms what @OF and some people like me are saying, 5 half bowls and the fact that the first bowl was on high and all the following bowls with lower temps tells the end consumer who looks at things technically like some of us here that it's not going to be a session vape at all.

Just something to consider.

Wouldn't you want to show off the vapor of a full bowl and the fact it can do 5 full bowls on high setting?
Do you think it's possible that at least 5 half-bowls might equate to at least 3 full-bowls at high and medium settings? Might this suffice for light casual individual use throughout the day for many? Could an extra easy-to-carry battery double that pleasure, double the fun?

I just want to comment that the abv looked much better out of their lab setup than it did coming from the "testers" in the previous video. It makes me wonder how close their test rig approximates a human draw. Also, just because they changed the color of the medicine does not mean it was fully extracted.

I'll say it again- that video does not show the maximum battery life, all it proves is that it can handle at least 5 half chambers.
So why the incessant harping on how short the battery life is, without any specific evidence?

I agree, the purpose of the video was to show the darkness of the ABV at each of the five heat settings. After they were done with heat setting five they had no reason to continue. As you said, at least five half bowls. That's all we know right now. Who knows, the battery could of lasted a couple more half bowls or more...

At least we know the battery life isn't ridiculously short, as some have led us to believe!!

So they need to do a lab analysis to determine exactly how "already" the ABV is?

Actually what I think we know is battery life isn't ridiculously LONG like was originally CLAIMED. My estimate still stands, under 10 minutes total heating time. Short, but probably useful to some.

No, they don't need to do anything really. IMO we'll soon know how completely how much weed can be vaped by real owners. I'm with THC Scientific here, if they could have made a better show they would have.....or maybe that should be should have?

What they showed is more or less in line with what we've been discussing I think, not really a session vape by anyone's standards? It's sure not what a couple of guys would want to huddle around to get high fast.

I'm interested to know of ANY pen-sized vape that can extract from 3-5 full bowls, or at least 5 half-bowls, WITHOUT SCORCHING the herb, on a single battery charge. Aren't all the pen-sized vapes out there now about twice the girth of the GH? TIA

EDIT:
"...not really a session vape by anyone's standards? It's sure not what a couple of guys would want to huddle around to get high fast. OF
A more than adequate session vape for me and a friend - I guess that would make us lightweights - but more than adequate nonetheless.

it could be 3 full bowls on high setting, as such was calculated a few pages back, or 3 full on medium. Still things to consider is ambient temperatures the wetness of the flower and such.

It confirms that you believe what you want to believe, and not much else.

yes it does unfortunately my beliefs are based on experience and laws of physics. From marketing point of view you want to show what your product can do, and you want to show it in a way that does not bring bad attention to the company.

Few pages back i calculated that first bowl your going to get full power and any subsequent bowls power is going to be reduced in power, the video shows what could be proof to that calculations as its not showing full bowls and not showing highest temp on all 5 bowls.

Believe me any innovation in this field is good for the people bad for many companies but we all know majority of companies will start by knocking this off, but we dont have a herb vape of our own and will not copy this design ( against my belief ) its interesting to me to discuss technical specs and learn a thing or two.

Just look at what GM did with the EV1 and what Tesla did on top of that technology.

Like I said, we don't know what the battery life is right now. All we know is the Hopper can do at least 5 half bowls. At least that's all I saw from the video. Anything above and beyond that is simply speculation and estimates.

The purpose or the video was to show the ABV at each of the 5 heat settings. That's what people asked for and that's what they did. The purpose of the video( unless I'm missing something) was not to test battery life.

That would shock me, I am thinking 30 minutes minimum.

I think you'll be shocked then, sad to say. Since nobody else has been able to do that I seriously doubt they will be able to. I've given real world examples of actual vapes of a similar type as examples. THC Scientific has been pushing this very problem for years now, IMO he's at 'the leading edge' of such things and would happily be selling us such a 'wonder vape' if he could?

Consider what Puff-it and ESV deliver, and Puff-it has a larger battery and the advantage of conduction heating (more efficient generally). ESV advertises '50 to 80 puffs' (8 seconds max each) with a battery likely much larger at 1200mAh (we don't know GH yet, but 750mAh is a reasonable estimate I think).

Hopefully it'll be useful for a large fraction of the users, but IMO (even) half an hour ain't happenin'.

"The video shows what COULD be proof".... Or it might not show that at all....
Agreed! I think GH may be cautiously (smartly) demonstrating their innovative design & function only CONSERVATIVELY - a lessen well-learned perhaps! Any performance enjoyed over and above those conservative demonstrations will be loudly applauded. Nothing will speak louder than upcoming professional reviews, as well as satisfied customers with their own testimony. If it's as "adequate" as I think it may be, the GH will sell itself without any hype whatsoever.

I appreciate that insight and opinions from everyone in this discussion, but it's important to respect the rules. Our manufacturer rules state:
  • You can’t post in a thread that’s about another company’s product unless it’s a 100% positive post
  • You can’t mention your products at all unless the thread is about a product your company produces
@THC SCIENTIFIC it's in your best interest to stay out of this thread. Please respect the forum rules.

I think that was just too easy a target...
Edit: I worded that poorly - not at all meant to disparage @hi_there for his comment. I took issue with the respondent. Might have broken the rule nevevertheless. Apologies.

lwien started a thread a while ago called You are not being threatened, and I think a lot of you (most of you, actually) should go right now, read it, and contemplate your behaviour here. I don't think I've ever seen so many people take speculation so personally. Some of the latest comments border on breaking our Be Nice rule. If your comment is about someone's gullibility or skepticism, please keep it to yourself.

omg my feelings exactly.. Settle down and stop complaining unless you got one in your hand you really don't know so what's the point of getting worked up over speculation? Waste of time really.. And energy to boot

Hopefully we'll soon have a unit in the hands of one of our fellow Members with an established history who can give us a 'hands on' appraisal from an objective POV.

...contemplate your behaviour here

I'm hoping we'll get objective reviews, but seeing how people feel personally involved (threatened?) just because they are early funders/backers, I'm afraid we will see some cases similar to the Stockholm syndrome, with people saying that it's not that bad just to counter the sceptics ability to say "I told you!"...

Alright so we clarified I think the battery life claim, now let's tackle the following ones:
- Doesn't require to stir when all competitors only heat the material near the bowl walls
- Blows away the competition for less than half the price
- GH is a pure convection vaporizer
- Advanced insulation keeps the mouthpiece cool, even during extended sessions
- Maximum possible efficiency, durability and battery life

PS: I had to re-read the indigogo page to fetch the claims and anyone can do the same to confirm they claimed 3 hours of continuous usage, "one of the longest lasting vaporizers available"... when some users seem to imply they just played with the words or weren't clear if it was continuous or not, for me there's absolutely no doubt that this claim was completely bogus and false advertizing.

PS2: for the last claim, it's surely true if "maximum possible" refers to what they could achieve in such a small package, now if they meant what is possible for a portable vaporizer...hmmmm again pretty bold!

What if the parts they ordered arrived in the US ,
but were assembled by Chinese employees ...
100 % Chinese manufactured .
