Any new vaporizers in last years that would be an upgrade from an LSV?

I've had an LSV for several years which is probably the best I had with the Volcano being a close 2nd.

I was wondering if there are any new desktop vapes that would be a good upgrade from an LSV?

I miss the bags from my Volcano so I'd like one that offers both options (direct like the LSV or bags like the Volcano). I did have the Extreme Q but somehow found it to not make much vapor and resold it a few months later, I never could find out if it was defective or just how it worked but based on feedback here I expected more. I would hope it was defective as I really liked it other than the fact it made barely any vapor for me.

Are there others that offer direct and bag options like the Extreme Q that are good?

Herbalizer, forget the rest, but if you absolutely cannot afford it, the EQ is decent, you should be getting heavy vapour in the mid-upper temps - check out the EQ thread. Or Herbalaire with pump.

I've recently discovered the LSV and absolutely love it, my favourite vape so far, save for maybe the Herbalizer. It just works so well with glass, ideally i'd love a herbie, lsv, and maybe minivap.

You probably know about the Evo.

The MiniVap has been out a while but I'll bet you never saw it...it's coming into its own.

Check out some flame based vapes like the Lotus, Daisy and Lily.

I'm about to give the newest HerbalAire a spin...another blast from the past that I never got to taste. I'm excited about its new functions.

S&B just released two portables that have a lot of people talking...Crafty and Mighty.

That oughtta keep you busy reading for a while, and they are all very solid units.

the daisy was a game changer for me. really really blew me away. retired all my other vapes even.

i still use em for nostaliga or travel reasons, plus loaners to my friends but daisy is the apple of my eye

I recently picked up an LSV and after some modding (SSV HC) I'm in :love:

. It is by far my favorite vape of all I've tried. Log sized loads with the wide open airflow of the SSV.

If you feel adventures, I have an idea that would turn the LSV into a bag blower. Instead of the intake being a hole, why not have the a longer piece of glass tubing running from the intake hole on the Heater Cover (like a JoDa carbed GonG). One long enough to keep any conductive heat from reaching the hose. Then you would just need an air pump on the other side. Just need to find a blower that would attempt one.

I'm positive this would work, simply blowing into the intake or output on the LSV HC results in extremely hot air coming out the other side. Almost burnt me.

I haven't used a herbalAire in quite a while, and mine isn't the latest model, but it's a top rate company and people like like their latest versions. If I wanted an up to date dual mode vape I'd get the herbalAire without a 2nd thought. Plenty of people are willing to pay the price for the Herbalizer, but I'm too cheap and you don't need to spend that much to get high quality.

Lately I've had my eyes on the Daisy, but I've always been curious about LSV. I am currently a satisfied owner of DBV. What is it about the LSV that makes it so glass friendly? I think for a desktop unit it has freedom of movement many other vapes lack. But with DBV on a table seems you accomplish a similar if not same feat in terms of vapor production along with benefit of a free hand. :shrug:

I feel converting to LSV would be an easy switch. Perhaps someone with more vapes under their belt can enlighten?

it's like a magic vaporizing wand you can wave around easily. it mates to GonG connections. I used to have the spherical ground glass connection (SGG for short) and it was freakin great

used without water was a bit harsh for my taste, but through water it worked a treat.

It also removes the whip from the equation, so vapor starts hitting your glass instantly.

It can be used with one hand with the SGG or without any hands with the M2M adapter.

Or my favorite, with a SSV HC and JoDa SSV GonG,

If you want to take the plastic tubing out of the equations, the LSV is the TITS. Like @weedemon said it's like a magic wand! You stick it on any 18mm female glass bubbler and you are set, sans whip! It has a nice form factor, very durable, long cord, I LOVE my LSV, and i've used over a dozen vapes of the years. Nothing beats the LSV, save for maybe the Herbie, but I think they complement eachother.

Taking the whip out of the equation is something I could get used to. The more I look and learn the more I want lol. After looking on their website I see they offer multiple water pipe adapters. I am considering getting the long but I'm not sure. I would think that the length of the adapter would have an effect on the temperature needed to vaporize properly. Given that the difference between the short & long is a mere 19mm. I think with it being that much further away users with a long adapter would have to turn the heat up just a sliver to compensate. I digress but also wonder if there is a preference among its users.

While I can't perceive how that would look, it sounds intriguing. When I upgrade I was considering either a SSV/DBV with custom blown glass wand, HC, and knob OR the LSV. LSV with a custom SSV HC could be a good compromise

That makes more sense seeing the "swiss cheese" part (that goes around the heater) removed. For what reason do you use a SSV cover? I understand the benefit that HC would provide perhaps while vaping with different angles. Your HC also appears to be a standard connection with two air holes drilled? Could just be the angle...

Also @Tweak with regards to the bag blowing idea, 7th Floor took it upon themselves to do add a bag option to their next gen Silver Surfer dubbing it the Super Surfer. While I am personally meh about bag vaping, I commend your efforts/idea to rig a bag blowing LSV. We have much to thank for the creations that have been born of simple curiosity and stoner engineering. :nod:

What connection are you running to the standard HC?

Thick vapor is very enticing! I'm marveling at how interchangeable 7th Floor parts are. I'm highly considering ordering a standard for fun/as a backup HC.
