also one of the hair like wire that went into the white lump also came off the circuit board.. I see where it goes and I can attach another wire to the circuit board.. but I really don't know how they go into that white lump? Were they attached to each other inside it? I don't think they were?

If it's long enough still it can be successfully soldered back on the board if you're lucky/skillful enough. I know, because I broke one of mine off just messing with the four screws holding the assembly in which is why I've so strongly discouraged tinkering with those screws since then. No advantage I can see maintenance wise and IMO an unacceptably high risk of creating problems. You're another example of that I fear.

For sure I avoided, and strongly advised against, messing with the cement for the two reasons we now see (nothing to gain and it leaves you with serious problems getting it back working.

Furnace cements are simple in concept, but vary widely. Basically a 'heat proof' filler and binder. Silica (sand), alumina (Al2O3, a common abrasive), and various ground ceramics being common as I understand. Binders as simple as 'water glass' (sodium silicate) can be the binder (in one version I've worked with), others use fired limestone (Portland Cement, basically) and a bit of water for this I understand as well. The problem is they have various properties WRT temperature, shrink back, chemical safety, and so on. Additionally thermal conductivity varies a lot which I suspect will be a problem. This last, I fear, along with the placement of the sensor relative to other stuff is very important to calibration and regulation of temperature at the load.

If you insist on pressing on, McMaster Carr will sell you several temperature appropriate cements. I've used at least two in the past from them for other purposes, but can't advise on which to use (or if any are really appropriate) but that's a place to start. I'd obviously seriously investigate the safety of the materials, it's a lot different patching up a furnace fire box or flue than rebuilding the oven assembly. It will have to adhere to the plastic, metals and other materials involved lest it fall apart again.

Once again, it's an area that should be avoided IMO. At this point, I'd consider if a fatal issue if it were mine and would be thinking of replacement rather than repair. I think it was an ill advised adventure that has ended poorly. As can sometimes happen. I recommended not getting involved, not removing the four screws for any reason, and still do.

And now my advice, FWIW, is to replace either the oven assembly if you can find someone to sell you one, or the entire unit. One of the 'open box returns' from PIU (when available) at $60 or so (you don't need a pretty one since you have a good body?) would be a possible, as does contacting the man to see if he has a dead unit with a functional oven he can sell you even now?

Good luck.

Been enjoying the shipment of stem screens and "O" rings I got recently. Before I had only one "O" ring so I kept switching back and forth. I also had to use the silver cap on the black Solo as that was the only one that would fit right. The black top would "pop" sometimes just as it got snug. A bit of plumbers tape on the threads did the trick. Now those " O" rings will just stay where they are permanently. Now that I installed screen in all my stems(nice having four of them), I can load bud or ground weed without the specs in the stem and mouth.
Two Solos and a modified EQ with SSV wand vaping last summers blueberry crop:life is good. And a fresh crop with more variety is almost ready!!!
I can almost taste it now!:tup:

Where are these 'open box ' returns? whats is PIU ? I need a link please

Everything comes apart so easy accept for the heat sensor attached by those two hair thin wires inside that white lump. My intermittent working was cause by one of those wires detaching from the white lump. I cant get into that white lump to re attach them.

I'm assuming there is some kind of heat sensor inside the white lump that the wire went to.

I never registered mine. And I thinks its close to two years old now.. I'm so bummed out

Anybody have a used one with a broken bottom they want to sell?

For those who wanted to see under the oven here it is. The white ceramic heater goes up against the oven then the two insulators and a screw holing it all together. Under that in the plastic cup is another insulator.

Puffitup is a sponsor of FC. They are usually at the bottom of this page. Last call items are on their website. Right now there aren't any Solos. I checked a half hour ago. It's good to check regularly, they fly off the shelves fast if it's a Solo.

Look for where is says "Last Call".

I have my Solo out enjoying some pain relief that's called DairyQueen. This is a great Hybrid along with the Vortex accompanied by the Solo. I have some spring yard work to get started and having back issues so I need to be careful. Also I may need the help of the Air, Solos's smaller younger sister when I go outside. It's very pocket friendly.

Calling a shout out to all Soloists, have a wonderful evening. Only 3 more weeks until spring. It's already here in the Pacific N.W. I've been hearing the frogs croaking lately at night.

Having a session before bed. Haven't been getting out the Bubbler as much. Finishing off some GrapeApe, using temp 6, it's amazing. Relaxing after a busy day.

I must also report as others have, I bought a log to take some workload off the Solos, and after being Solo free for a week or so, doing some Solo stems just feels amazing. I save my broken glass, and have arranged with a local shop, to make a Solo gong. There used to be glassblowers instead of heroin dealers on every corner in my town, but I found the shop where they host the Pipes Classic is around the corner from me. I thought it was a hookah lounge, turns out to be a LHS with alleged glassblowers. If you save your broken solo glass, be sure to head to Dr Sox's thread on making a $15-20 gong out of bits and pieces.
GSC packed into two stems just staring at me, have a most wonderful day keep that pain at bay!

I loaded a new bowl and had remaining battery power at level 1 and set the temp to level 4. I waited till it heated to level 4 as usual. Level 4 didn't seem to be doing it for me and I eventually cranked it to 5 and then 6 to get what I perceived as the same result I normally get at level 4. Felt like the battery wasn't able to keep up due to the low level of the energy/battery store. When the session was over I turned it off and then turned it back on to check the remaining power store. It turned on but the battery store level wasn't even a 1 so I turned it off and charged it up. Since charging it fully we're back to normal.

Have had the Solo for about 5-6 months now and my battery life is still great (I get about 2 sessions at each level so 14 sessions on one charge).

Has anyone experienced a drop in heating ability at the lower battery store levels to where they had to jack it up like I did?

Yes, depending on conditions, it can easily happen. The thing to watch is "duty cycle", the ratio of on time to off (or more exactly, percentage of on time to total cycle time. Fresh batteries might be on say 10 seconds and off for 15. 10 out of 25 seconds, 40%. Later, as the battery discharges and 'full blast' isn't so strong, it might slip to 15 on 15 off (50%), then to 30 on and still 15 off, for 66%. Off time, when not hitting it, should be basically the same since heat loss is uniform, but the heat time creeps up, eventually staying on full time (when it can no longer make up for the heat loss), at that point, the average temperature is going to be lower and lower.

Not to worry, just don't drain it down that far (or keep track of how long the heat light flashes each cycle?).

Enjoy it.

Was really into the MFLB until I went on a Lotus kick but really haven't liked using butane torches and went back to combustion.

Seriously considering the solo to get back into vaping thanks to OF's suggestions.

There are a few new Solos on ebay... where did you guys/gals get yours and are there fakes out there?

I feel like an idiot because I went with a too good to be true deal from Vapor Seller. They must have a bot giving them positive google reviews or something. Over a week after putting in the order and having my card charged I still hadn't gotten any notice of shipment. I couldn't reach either of the phone numbers they had listed [and they weren't even 800 numbers] and I didn't get a response from them through the 'leave a message' website feature. it wasn't until I sent an email saying I was going to charge back the order that I got any kind of response and it was just some automated emails about my order being cancelled.

Once the money is back in my account I'll order from somewhere else. is planetofthevapes.com legit? they look to have a good deal going.

shipped I have an 18mm pvhe gong, ed 3" wong, pipes stand, stem caps and an 18mm-14mm reducer

do you know what i have stopped doing to post? i have interrupted an email conversation with a dhgate seller about a peyote pillar

is there something (apart from the previously known) wrong with me?

Ordered a D0-20 on Sunday.
Wooohoooo, shipped earlier today.
Expected delivery within 11 days, but i remember ordering from the same seller and got it it sooner than my actual arizer solo. ordered one of those 20 dollar arizer bubblers.

The seller even said they'd replace the dome and nail with a 14mm to 18mm adapter instead :D

Gonna pack some dank in the solo and enjoy the last of this straight tube... hahahaha, gonna sell it after the d020 comes thru

^ Sell the stem or your solo??

And since when do arizer make bubblers?

Also did you get a gong? And if not wouldn't you need to at least keep the stem?

I'm so confused lol.
