@RastaBuddhaTao : other paths to investigate for the wood treatment >>

- From Epicvape EV1/EV2 thread: "Natural Citrus oil and beeswax finish"
- From Wychwood thread: "The wood is finished with natural bees and carnauba wax"
- From Purple Days thread: "Our all-natural non-toxic finish, Buzz-Butter. :buzz: Chemical free bee's wax from the Tahuya River Apiaries, pharmacy grade Organic Flax oil, Organic Coconut oil, Organic Hemp oil along with natural Rosemary extract (anti-oxidant). Works great on wood and outdoor leathers."

I'm surely forgetting some others...

Im with you Mike. This Zion is exxxxxxxactly what i've been wanting. This has addressed the issues I have with all my portables. My daily is my FF. And this improves on every issue I have with it.I'm going to do what it takes to try to get in on the beginning.Just the fact that we would have the freedom to use any brand batteries is a huge deal to me,and the temp control with it being on demand heat is nice.Real nice.

I'm pleased to introduce you to the latest reincarnation of the Zion and hope you like the form it has taken. Your feedback is directly influencing the design.

This is actually the proper orientation for most usage.

Remember...it's portable, not necessarily pocketable. That comes next :brow:

Kerozen gets a big attaboy for the lid suggestion, though it wasn't the only feedback of this nature we received from the beta unit testers, it certainly helped to solidify the idea that this thing needed a lid. One awesome dinner, one team ski trip and several attitude adjustments later, it all came together.

Open source, community driven product development. That's what we're doing here folks, and it seems to be working out pretty good, at least from where this karmawhore sits.

Y'all have a great weekend!

kindly,
thekarmawhore

beautiful! love the cap, now with the glass protected under the cap and the size comparison next to a lighter, I feel confident I could stash this in my bag for on the go. wow, i'm excited for this one!

Impressive ' Exhale ' .

I'd still would like to see a slightly longer usage vid ,
where they show the inhale process . ( with empty lungs )
Say a few words , before inhaling on camera .
That would ' remove ' any doubt , that the user
took a hit from another vape , then attached mouth to
the vape on vid , and started the shoot .

My personal apologies to @RastaBuddhaTao .
I'm sure you have a real actual product to be released .
I was just commenting on the video style , which
btw I have brought up on other threads . I REALLY like
the 1 angle camera shoot with NO editing that you've put out already .
Just a few seconds longer , say a few words before inhaling .

Good luck with your launch .

Clouds take 2... other than the Zion being warm from use and it being a fresh load there is no CGL or any special effects in this Video.... the Zion just has that much power ;)

:ninja::ninja: I'm definately watching this one closely. Watched the thread from the beginning. I have not even been in the market for a portable until seeing this one. I'm still waiting on my Nano. My Solo seemed to be the only portable that I needed...until this! Zion is now firmly in DieHard's sights! Yippie Ki Yay combustion fuckers!

Thanks @DieHard... its a honor to know that we have caused you to think past your solo as it is such a popular vaporizer. We plan to make one of the first accessories a wall charger as the Zion will make a great home unit as well. Drop your batteries in the charger when you get home and drop in the AC charger in the Zion... best of both worlds.

It's big 19mm load chamber and impressive power have people calling the Zion the "portable desktop vaporizer". Hopefully it's elite convection performance will forgive it's slightly bigger size... we thing so ;)

I really like the form factor and the wood adds a visceral feel that the robotic Solo does not have. Add to that the possibility of "Your Wood, our Zion". Is really intriguing to me.

I dont doubt the out put of vapor. Now if I had 1 worry it would be the amount of material needed to make such clouds.I've noticed that most vaporizers either take a lot or can only do a little.Big bowls and heating chambers takes big loads to get such output.I guess I'm hoping that with a variable temp control it will be that much more versatile.

I had a PNP and hated the mouthpiece. I ended up using the PonG as my mouthpiece and loved it for the airflow and versatility. If it were me with the Zion, I would want both ends of the mouthpiece to have a gong on it. Then it could easily drop into my bubbler with nothing added.

That would be perfect if it came stock that way.It would be even that more versatile straight out of the box.DAMN.I need a 3rd and 4th job with these types of changes coming in the vaporizer world. The Zion reminds me of a portable log or solo with a NOS button.Thats what im picturing any way.

Oh teh noes, you yanks always want to turn all vapes into watertool-mating giant cloud-ripping weapons of mass destruction! Please think about us poor ex-spliff smoker Euro guys who like to enjoy long lasting laid back sipping sessions! A GonG end feels less comfortable in the mouth, at least for me...

Not only that, but if the mouthpiece doubled as a GonG, it will get sticky, which does not go well with lips.

Absolutely no reason there couldn't be a different mp to mate with water. We are accessorizing fools, after all. Having not yet tried it I don't know how this mp will feel and whether it might be better with some kind of lip, but time will tell and options are likely to abound.

I WOULD like to know if this beast performs as well with only a small load loaded. .3g loads are great for a more serious session, but most of the time I will use it alone for just a couple big hits at a a time. It will be important to me for the Zion to perform with small loads.

I'm betting this new oven will work just as well with small loads, but reassurance is always cool. :)

Great idea @stickstones! Those are standard far in the glass blowing world. The glass blower I use made the custom mouthpieces on the glass page on the web site uses one to make two mouth pieces out of it. That's the beauty of the 19mm you can adapt to anything with it. Agreed stay the course with the current mouthpiece out of the box the the attachments are only limited by imagination.

The load chamber can hold .3 and yes you can stuff it full and roast it to blow big clouds but it performs better it it's a nice loose pack of fine grind. A trick I thought of today is that since the load chamber is completely contained by two screens you can "blow back" a burst of air into the unit and it "stirs" the load. Then when you draw again the vacuum recollects the load back in the chamber... Slick right?

Not sure why all the kids r inta blowing clouds these days... Isn't vaping supposed to be the anti-cloud? Lol

Well I just wasted 4 hours trouble shooting a bad potentiometer... Action item: add potentiometer to component level validation list :)

Oh and the peeing sound is the water in the fish tank (foreshadowing for @thekarmawhore to post some pics of his wood?)

With ya on that. If it is exhaled, it is not absorbed and is wasted. While I like big hits, I am a holder and usually don't have that much to exhale.

surely can't you pack your full loads and take less puffs since its pure convection, correct me if I'm wrong buts that's what I would do when I finally get my hands on one.

True that. It's instantaneous convection my friend. Take a couple rips and set it down do your thing and come. A I for another session when your ready... @MrPeanut can speak more to what does to the efficiency. Continual use is more efficient because less heat is transferred to the device body.

I like to run the load chamber 3/4 full with a really light pack at about .1g. Mr Peanut taught me that this is the optimum method for ABV uniformity. He has run several ounces through his 2x4 and is developing some really great techniques with all his practice :)
