Quick Preview and first day opinion on the Underdog Log.

This Buckeye Burl dogg showed up yesterday afternoon. I snapped a fast teaser photo on my phone but plan to use my gf camera to get some high quality pictures once i get the chance.

First off this is my first log vape I was going in off the positive feed back of fellow FC members. Once i got the dogg warmed up I reached for the direct draw first. I was able to get instinct big rips with out restriction other than the pack of the herb. I then used it thru water with a nong and it was a little different to use since the nong does not lock into place, in other words not a hands free set up. But the hits were amazing really smooth. Next I reached for the whip and felt just like my old vapor bros box minus the huge bowl and long hose haha. I really enjoyed having the whip experience since parting with my VB box in spring last year. The nylon stem worked pretty good as well nice flavor over all. Finally not to be forgotten the aroma cups with a few drops of the orange oil and some bees wax the over all experience has been a pleasant one. With the cup and whip its like a mini hand held vapor bros box. With any stem using the SS tip its like a few great hits almost the one hitter but just a few more closer to 4 or 5 on avg so far. With the direct draw that will get u ready couch locked if using solo. I'm taking the dog to over my friends house tonight to continue breaking it in. He has been only vaping with hammer since i sold him it 3 months ago, so im curious to what he thinks since he is the only one of my friends that has realized that vaping is the best way.

Any ways thought i would chime in with a little feed back of the first impressions with are nothing short of outstanding.

@underdog & @underdogette Thanks for bring this pup to life for me and doing it in such a quick easy and unique manner. This whole experience has got me even further interested in this underground community vaping. The chance to work with quality small businesses and not give money to big companies and corporations makes me feel a lot better about this world. In some respects this world of big business has grown "too big to fail" but in others it already rebuilding from the bottom up. To support the rebirth of america and small business is an honor i hope to spend a life time contributing to.
@Snappo & @Ed's TnT this wouldnt be concluded even if it was suppose to be a short post with out a huge thanks for all the help and great craftsmanship your guys bring to the table.

What a freaking beauty! @Snappo did you right and you have an amazing vape! I look forward to working up your stems to match. @underdog & @underdogette Thanks for all yall do for everyone here and for getting that SS tip out to me!

I think I gotta take the locust twig Dave!

Is there anyway I can get a nong instead of the stems? All I really want is a nong to try and maybe a spare gong. I never use direct draw really but if I do I have one of the old custom heady direct draw stems :)

I am ready to order the locust but Id really like to try the nong.

Toughest choice ever.

Excellent choice sir! Send Underdogette an email or message and I'm sure she can help you out with the stems, etc.

yes magic9, I'm beginning to see I may have wandered too far down the rabbit hole.

Haven't we all.. haven't we all. At least you're in good company.

Just want to let everybody know we have transferred the Aromazap URL to Dave at Underdog.
It is good to see folks can click on Aromazap.com and get some info and help rather than the "Aromazap is closed" notice that has been on since July 26th 2012. Pat and I met Dave and Amanda a few days before we were visited by the Idaho State Police who shut us down for good. Underdog is a very good log vape with excellent service and quick delivery. Dave and Amanda are good people who take their business seriously and devote all their time to it. You can't go wrong joining the Underdog family in our opinion.

Hmmmm.... D & A visit competitors and a few days later raided. Episode of Breaking Bad or terrible coincidence? We can't be too careless. Send them to the Grasshopper facility.:)

What is the over all general consensus on running the do 24/7 without a vvps?

I believe I have the new heating core idk if this makes a difference.

If a vvps is suggested to presever and help the longevity of this log, what is the most popular or recommend vvps that FC members use?

Heya Rick, nice seeing you around these parts! We appreciate the kind words you always have for us, compliments from the Log Vape King are the best! Thanks for taking care of the URL transfer, we'll do our best to treat all your Zapsters as well as we know you and Pat always did. Hope you'll continue to check in and hang out on occasion...

Yeah it was unreal. All joking aside what went down was some seriously messed up stuff. Nobody is less deserving of that kind of BS than Rick and Pat. :disgust:

Generally speaking lowering the heat levels when not in use will surely prolong the life of your Dog (or any device really) especially in a case like yours where you have a Dog made of such a delicate, soft wood. Since I suspect you don't need the ability to raise the temps and only need to lower them I'd suggest just sticking an inexpensive PWM dimmer in between the power supply and extension cord and calling it good. In your case I suspect you also don't need the improved adjustment accuracy of a VVPS (compared to the PWM). With the simple PWM dimmer you can dial back the heat whenever you want with the turn of a dial.

Interesting comment by TeeJay1952.
The facts are we were under investigation since February 2012(raided July 25th) based on an informant that told the ISP many lies about us and what we were doing. That informant knew things about our household that dated back well into the '90s and were no longer "real" after 2000. ONLY our immediate family knew information given to the ISP. We watched the drug warriors go here and there in the first 15 minutes of their 6 hour search and come back to 'central' very pissed at finding nothing except 10 plus years of cobwebs. They were after a big grow and us selling it with our Zaps online.
We were also "stung" twice in March and May of 2012 with an undercover officer from Idaho trying to buy a Zap from us which we did not do as we did not sell in Idaho. He eventually convinced me to sell to a Washington address They spent alot of time and money on us and got nothing in the end.
The execution of the raid on our property was advanced in time dramatically when they read my post on FC(July 23?) about visiting with Dave and Amanda. They were afraid I had caught onto them and was getting out of the business because of them which was not true at all. Their hurried efforts only added to the confusion and incompetence of the bust. They were literally like Keystone cops.
This information came to us via our legal right of discovery during the criminal and civil cases against us. One more chapter in the total waste of taxpayer dollars much of the War on Drugs is about.
My total fines were $550, much of it insurance for my community service. I was never arrested and they got zero property. They did get Zap parts, transformers, etc. And I get a clean record since I already had a clean record.
Very good learning experience for us though.

Question about using my UD with my VPS:
When measuring voltage with my multimeter, would the voltage change depending on whether or not current is being drawn?

I ask because with my VPS and 100ft cable I get virtually 0 voltage drop, but I am taking the voltage reading without the UD connected.

Where is the extension cord? Going into the vvps input? Or the vvps output?
100ft cable is between the VPS and my dog.

So like right now i've been running my dog off of the 100ft cable for a hr+. My VPS says 13.2V, my multimeter says 13.24V at the end of the cable(0 voltage drop), but my dog does not feel like its running at 13.2V. Barely browns using the nylon stem, without the 100ft cable 13.2V would be one hot dog.

Edit: The 100ft cable is just a generic DC 9V 12V 18V 5.5mm outer 2.1 inner extension power cable. Though it hasn't crapped out on me like my 2 smaller extensions cords.

Something doesn't sound right, what do you get when you measure directly at the VVPS output without the long cable?

With a warm VVPS(the cheap tattoo style one from ebay):
Measuring directly from the tattoo style power cord I get the same readings as the VVPS display (+-0.05v). Attaching the 100ft cable makes the voltage on the VVPS drop ~0.2V and measuring through the 100ft cable I still am +-0.05V of the VVPS display.
Is there any way to measure the voltage while the UD is plugged in?
It seems like my UD runs cooler with the 100ft cable but I don't measure any voltage drop. I plugged my UD directly into the VVPS and at 12.9V I had the dark ABV I like with the nylon stem.

alright guys the process is under way. I'm definitely excited. Figured I'd post some of the initial pics here so everyone can see. I'll post more pics as things progress. picked a cool looking Hawaiian pheasant wood, which is looking pretty sweet so far.

Are there any markings on it noting the wire gauge? A large gauge wire (smaller number, as in 16ga. compared to 18ga.) may not allow much drop at all. This may be marked as "awg" also.

Heya @Scott A - Do you mean the 17v one with the 2.5mm tip that we were supplying for a while? If so then yes, send Underdogette a message and she can help you since they aren't on the website.

Oooooooo. Is there a way to get a Sitka Spruce Dog?

Doh! I just turned the last of it that I had a couple months back.. I can probably find more though so yeah shouldn't be a super hard nut to crack.
